Custom Foiling

February 15, 2022

Hi, Marla here. I am so happy to be back with another ECD Blog post. Today, I am sharing this beautiful floral card. Once created, this card can easily sit in your card stash ready to use for several celebratory occasions. Let’s get crafty, shall we?

Step 1 Stamp out your images from the “Respect” stamp set using clear embossing ink onto watercolor paper and add white embossing powder. Melt the powder using your heat tool.

Step 2 Add watercolor to your embossed images and set aside to dry. I used a combination of blue, teal and green watercolors for my card.

Step 3 Use the coordinating dies to cut out your images adding foam tape to the back of the largest floral cluster.

Step 4 Cut a piece of white cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.50″. Position your cardstock in a vertical orientation. Using a grid mat and both ECD 0.25″ and 0.4″ “Clear Double-Sided Adhesive Tape” create a pattern horizontally, leaving white space between each piece of tape.

Step 5 Remove the adhesive backing one at a time and alternate the foil colors to coordinate with your watercolored images. Again, I used shades of blue, teal and green foil cut into strips for easy alignment.

Step 6 Trim 1/8″ off each side of your foiled panel for a finished layer that measures 4″ x 5.25″.

Step 7 Using the “Best Wishes” sentiment from the “For You” stamp set, mask off the “wishes” with tape and ink and the word “Best”, remove the tape and stamp. Repeat the process and stamp the word “wishes.” Trim the sentiments to fit on your card front.

Step 8 Assemble your card. Center and adhere your foiled card panel to a 4.25″ x 5.50″ top folding card base. Place the large floral with foam tape at an angle from the bottom left corner angling towards the top right. Tuck the smaller floral underneath the larger floral vertically. Add your sentiments and a few gems for more sparkle and shine and you are finished.

Thank you for taking time to view my post. I hope to see you back again soon. Until next time… Marla

Kindness Always Matters

January 30, 2022

Hi friends…Michelle here with my official post as part of the Elizabeth Crafts Design Ambassadors Team and I couldn’t be more thrilled! I decided to use the beautiful floral from the Kindness Stamp which is part of the Beautiful Blooms Collection for today.

Step 1: Stamp the flower outline and sentiment using black ink. Colour in the floral using your choice of alcohol markers. Use a stamp positioner if necessary, to ensure a good and clean impression.

Step 2: Cut out the sentiment and the flower using the coordinating dies either before or after you colour in the image. Without stamping the image, diecut 2 more of the flower, as these will be used to stack the 3 together for dimension.

Step 3 – Colour in the flower image using your choice of alcohol markers and add small dots to the coloured image using a white gel pen.

Step 4 – Place your chosen stencil (I used the Grid Pattern from the Earth Patterns Stencil Pack) and start to lightly and randomly ink blend over the stencil on a piece of white cardstock cut to 3.75″x5″.

Step 5 – Cut a random strip of black and white patterned paper and adhere to the left side of your stencilled cardstock and trim off any excess. Adhere 3 the flower diecuts together using a liquid adhesive and add foam adhesive to the back of the sentiment. Adhere all to your A2 cardbase using white craft foam.

I hope this has helped to inspire you and I wish you all a wonderful and craft day,
