Your’re my Hero

May 12, 2020

Hi there,

It’s Tanja here and today I would like to show you how to create this super sweet Rainbow Bear Card.

Step 1: Creating the Background

  • apply Prima Marketing transparent 3D Matte Gel through the heart portion of the Make your Mark stencil
  • add color with the Watercolors – I used Vermilion, Orange, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Green, Prussian Blue and Mauve

Here’s the color chart that I created with the new Elizabeth Craft Designs Watercolor Set:

Step 2: Creating the Bear

  • cut out all the elements for the Honey Bear from white Soft Finish Cardstock
  • color the elements with Alcohol Markers and add extra shading with Distress Ink Ground Espresso and a Mini Ink Blending Tool and highlights with a white gel pen

Step 3: Putting it all together and adding a Sentiment

  • adhere the adorable little bear to the rainbow panel
  • stamp the sentiments from the Make your own Sentiment 1 set with Versamark onto two strips of kraft cardstock and heat-emboss them with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder

Have a wonderful day. And next week I am going to show you how to create a completely different project with that same stenciled heart panel.

Hugs,

Valentine’s Day Card

January 23, 2020

Hello everyone, it’s Sanna Lippert here! I’m so thrilled to be able to continue sharing projects as a guest blogger here on Elizabeth Craft Designs blog again!!! For today’s post I wanted to create a Valentine’s Day card as sweet as sugar, but one that is still really easy to make… just in case you want to make a series of them!

Here is how to create the card:

Step 1: Pick several sheet of Soft Finish Cardstock in various pink and light purple tones. I used a dark and light pink one as well as a very light purple/lilac tone.
Step 2: Die cut borders from the chosen cardstock colors – one border set per colour – using the Valentine’s Edges die cut set.
Step 3: Next adhere a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive onto a piece of white cardstock.
Step 4: Die cut the white, adhesive covered piece using the solid heart die of the Heart Cutouts die cut die.
Step 5: Next die cut the inner piece of the Heart Cutouts heart from the dark pink Soft Finish Cardstock. Adhere these pieces together.
Step 6: Place the heart into a coffee filter and pour Bright Cranberry Silk Microfine Glitter over the tiny hearts and brush the residue off with a paint brush. Pour the residue back into the glitter jar and polish the glitter using your finger.
Step 7: Take a piece of black cardstock and stamp a Valentine’s sentiment with embossing ink – using the Love Sentiments clear stamp set – and heat emboss using white fine embossing powder. Fussy cut – or use a banner die cut die – into right size.
Step 8: Adhere all pieces onto a white card base using Clear Double Sided Adhesive tape for the border pieces and the heart and 3D foam for the sentiment. Decorate with Craft Drops (optional).

I’ve also recorded a short process video for you to watch to give you a better idea on each and every step! I hope you enjoy it!

Wishing you a lovely, crafty day!
xxx, Sanna

How To Emboss With Die Sets

October 27, 2019

Hi there everyone!

Angela here with today’s post. A good friend of mine is having hip replacement surgery next week so of course I need a card. I thought this would be a great time to try something I’ve not done before. I’ve used one of the Planner Patterns dies to emboss watercolor paper and then used watercolor paint to create an ombre effect to fill in the pattern. Stamps and dies from the Sentiments 2 sets complete my card front. Here’s how it all came together.

  • Cut a piece of watercolor paper to 3.75 X 5 inches.
  • Cut a piece of black cardstock to 4 X 5.25 inches.
  • Cut Soft Finish cardstock to 5.5 X 8.5 and fold in half to create the card.
  • Using a piece of low tack tape or a sticky note, center the die onto the watercolour paper and fasten.
  • Follow the appropriate sandwich on your particular cutting machine. Remember to place your die cutting side to the paper, and then onto the silicone mat. This way the blade will emboss and not cut the paper.
  • Run the sandwich though the machine.
  • Once the embossing is done, use your favourite watercolours to paint each shape, starting with the lightest colour.
  • As you move from one corner to the other, mix colors to create the ombre pattern. Let it dry.
  • Attach the layers and center onto the card base.
  • Stamp and cut the sentiment and attach using foam tape.

And you’re done! I hope this gave you some inspiration to create your own embossed cards!
