To create this layout: Step 1 – cover the background paper with clear gesso (I used a paper from the Mystical Winter Collection) Step 2 – stamp the image from the Frosty Patterns at the top, bottom and side
Step 3 – use texture paste and a stencil from the Pattern Stencil Pack along the one side and allow to dry Step 4 – Die cut, ink and assemble 14 – 15 flowers (I used florals 1, 2, 3, 4,) Step 5 – die cut 2 cubic background out of coordinating cardstock. Highlight the word Winter by using snowflake paste or glitter Step 6 – die cut 2 Diagonal Stitched Fishtails
Step 7 – mat your photo and assemble the photo area as shown Step 8 – using some frayed cheese cloth run a piece from the top to the bottom on the one side and one from side to side in the middle
Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Happy Holidays Gift Tag.
To create my Gift Tag, I’ve used dies from the Paper Flower Collection as well as a die from Joset Designs and the Planner Essentials Collection. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my gift tag at home.
Step One. Choose a piece of patterned paper out of the Worn Wood Paper Pack. Die cut the large tag from the Planner Essentials – 2 die out of the patterned paper. Ink the edges of the tag using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Two. Die cut the small plain circle from the Pizza Box die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Choose a piece of green patterned paper out of the Reminiscence Paper Pack. Die cut the stitched circle from the Pizza Box die out of the patterned paper. Ink the edges of both circles using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Three. Die cut the two swirls from the Strawberries die out of a piece of silver foil.
Step Four. From the Florals 2 die, you’ll need the medium, small and extra small flowers. Die cut the three size of flowers twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Fired Brick Distress Ink over the entire surface of all the flowers.
Step Five. From the Florals 2 die, you’ll need all the leaves. Die cut the two different single leaves twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the two leaf leaf out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Forest Moss Distress Ink over the entire surface of all of the leaves.
Step Six. From the Words 3 – Happy Holidays Die, you’ll need the Happy Holidays words. Choose a piece of Red patterned paper out of the Reminiscence Paper Pack. Die cut the words out of the red patterned paper.
Step Seven. Adhere the white circle to the green stitched circle. Foam square the green stitched circle to the middle of the tag.
Step Eight. Shape all the flowers. Adhere the three size flowers together. Repeat for the second flower. Put a Transp. Glitter/Gold Dot in the centre of each flower.
Step Nine. Shape all the leaves. Adhere two of the single leaves to the top left corner of the tag. Adhere two of the single leaves to the bottom left side of the tag. Adhere the two leaf leaf in the middle of the tag on the left hand side.
Step Ten. Foam square the two flowers over top of where the leaves meet.
Step Eleven. Adhere one of the swirls to the top right of the leaves at the top of the tag. Adhere the other swirl to the bottom left of the leaves at the bottom of the tag.
Step Twelve. Adhere the Happy Holidays words to the right of the flowers as desired. To finish the tag, tie a piece of twine through the top of the tag.

Distress Ink: Forest Moss, Fired Brick and Walnut Stain

To create this layout: Step 1 – Using your favorite ECD papers (I used Summer Art) have one 12″x12″ or 30cm x 30cm paper, trim another to 3″x6″ or 7.5cm x 15.25cm, and trim one more 4″x 7.25″ or 10.15cm x 18.5 cm, and one at .75″x 6″ or 2cm x 15.25cm Ink all the edges of the papers Step 2 – using coordinating cardstock die cut 4 silhouetted circles of varies sizes using your favorite ECD circle die (I used stitched circles) and 3 silhouetted rectangles and 1 full rectangle of various sizes (I used stitched rectangles)
Step 3 – Die cut, ink and assemble 9 of your favorite ECD flowers (I used Florals 2, and florals 3) Step 4 – Die cut 1 film strip, 2 small filmstrip from Planner Essentials 24, one dragonfly and the summer word and shadow from the Summer Art set from coordinating cardstock. Ink all the edges.
Step 5 – Mat your photo Step 6 – Assemble as shown
How many COVID weddings have you attended in 2020? If there was ever a time to make a special wedding card, this is the year! I know many brides who have had to change their wedding plans to something smaller and even online. I had a great time making this card to suit someone in particular – a bit rustic, a touch of blush with some elegant lettering.
I started with some paper from the Through the Lens-Wood which I think is discontinued but the new Worn Wood collection is just beautiful and would work also. I lightly sponged the edges of this Florals 1 dies with a light pink ink and the leaves from Florals 2 with different shades of green Distress Oxide Inks. The paper is muted with a sheet of vellum (glued on the corners which will be where the flowers go so that the glue markings will be hidden) so that the words will pop a little more.
I like to have all my pieces cut and colored so they are ready to go. I’ve also learned that having extras is faster going back and preparing them.
I glued all my pieces as shown above, adding some trimmed off berry branches. As you can see, I used some white craft drops for the berries. The center of the flowers I used some light yellow chunky glitter. I did not like the end results much so I went back and added a ring of glue around the yellow glitter to add a green chunky glitter. I love it now!
The flowers frame a simple white sentiment made from different word dies – I do love mixing up these dies to form my own sentiment.
Before I popped it onto my 5 x 7 card base, I did add a bit of olive green matting to my wood piece.
I love how dimensional this card is and that all the colors are a bit muted.
Good morning! I am excited to share my next creation for Elizabeth Craft Designs! I am IN LOVE with the new Summer Art paper line and I finally got a chance to create with it….the designs and colors are outstanding!
To create this layout:
Step 1 – cover both sides of your paper with clear gesso ( I used the Summer Art Collection) Step 2 – mix texture paste with a coordinating color of colorant (I chose tainted love teal from Lindys Stamp gang) Step 3 – use your favorite ECD stencil and the colored texture paste approximately 2.5″ or 6 cm from the left hand side of your paper (I used the waves stencil) Step 4 – while texture paste is still wet sprinkle Silk Microfine Glitter at top the image (I used copper)
Step 5 – place two pieces of cheesecloth (1 at least 12 inches or 30.5 cm long and one about 8 inches or 10cm ling) in a resealable freezer bag and color with your favorite mist or powder. (I used Lindy’s magical powders in Cowabunga copper and Hags Wart Orange). Remove from bag with tweezers or wearing gloves and dry with your heat gun Step 6 – adhere the cheesecloth as shown in photos
Step 7 – fussy cut two small flowers, one large flower cluster, a turtle and a set of leaves from the paper and ink the edges
Step 10 – grab your favorite chipboard title and heat emboss twice, on the third embossing sprinkle silk microfine glitter into the while you are heat setting the embossing powder. I do not normally take photos in direct sunlight but I wanted to share the glitteriness of the effect Step 11 – create a photo mat, ink the edges of the mat as well as the background paper. Adhere everything as shown and add some seed beads!
