Today I chose the hydrangea and peony to express sympathy and support for those who grieve right now, for even at times of loss the beauty of flowers can provide solace and bring joy. The hydrangea represents heartfelt emotions, the peony stands for family honor and love.

Welcome to our August Susan’s Garden Design Team Designer Challenge. We had such a fantastic response to our first Susan’s Garden Designer Challenge last month, we are so glad that you all enjoyed it.

The above ode to this exquisite flower by famous romantic poet William Blake signifies the love for lilies that people have had for centuries. The Day Lily symbolizes innocence, purity and thankfulness. It’s a flower used not only as a prenatal gift to expecting mothers but also as an anniversary gift and for other occasions, too.
Today I present to you a card using this immensely captivating flower. This card is for all of my friends, thanking them for being a vital part of my life’s journey.

It’s the Die Cut Design Team’s turn to share their cards for this month’s Die Cut Design Team Designer Challenge.
Our Challenge this month is ….. Anything but a Card – for our challenge this month let’s create a project that is anything but a card. Think along the lines of a home décor item; journaling; tags etc.

Welcome to our May Die Cut Design Team Designer Challenge. This time round we have a technique to share with you that uses dies in a different way.
Our Challenge this month is ….. “Being Negative” – Normally when we use dies to cut we get a positive piece (the actual die cut) and a negative piece (the leftover piece or pieces that we often throw away). In many cases the negative pieces can also make interesting card components, and it is these pieces that are the focus of the Challenge cards. The Design Team can also incorporate the positive die cut piece if they wish.
For our Challenge today we are giving away a Background Die Prize Pack that includes the Heart Background, Circles, Background, Chevron Background and Diamond Background to 3 winners.

I was so excited when I saw that there was a Gerbera Daisy die because the Gerbera Daisy is my favorite flower, a flower that makes me happy. For my last post I showed you how to create a bubble background for your card. Today I have another background technique for you. It’s the Wax Paper Technique. It’s Frances Byrne here with today’s Pop it Ups Wednesday tutorial. I have been having fun lately creating Z-fold cards using the Pop It Ups Pivot Card dies. Seeing that Valentine’s Day is just under a week away I thought it might be fun to create a Valentine card using the Heart Pivot Card die set.
