Hello everyone, Els Schutte here with my first blog post on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog. I’m very excited to show you the card I made for today’s post. It’s a card that would be perfect for someone who just moved into their new home of with a slight modification just a card for any occasion. Let’s get started!

Welcome to your new home card

Cut Lacy Leaves, Florals 4, Ferns, and the Berry Branch out of the Soft Finish Cardstock, then colour them in soft pink and green Inks. Shape the flowers and leaves and glue the flowers together. Put some stamens in the centre and put laquer on the big knobs and pearl drops on the small Berry branch.

Cut a piece of Soft Finish Cardstock 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 and fold in half, this is your base card. Cut another piece of the same cardstock of 8 1/4 x 4 and put this piece on 3D foam blocks and place on top of your card. Cut the door with the die from the phone Booth set, use the parts from the window as bricks. Start with placing the leaves.

Place the flowers
Place some big knops
Ad some leaves

Cut the berry Branch apart and use them on different spots in the cluster. Use some green Ink to make a shadow on the bricks. Ad a string of pearls and bow and your card is done.

I Hope you will give this card a try, it’s a nice gift if you get new neighbours or someone gets a new Home.

Two Cards Same Stamps

Hi, It’s Marla here with my first blog post as an Elizabeth Craft Designs Ambassador. Today, I am sharing two cards showing how you can achieve different looks using the same stamps. I’ll start with the more detailed of the two cards.

  1. Cut a panel using watercolor cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 3 1/2.” Wash the background with the watercolor of your choice. Once dry, add gold watercolor around the edges. Stamp the sentiment from the “Your Day” stamp set with clear embossing ink. Cover with white embossing powder and heat set. Add gold splatters using a watercolor brush.

2. Cut the next layer to 6″ x 4 3/16″ and run it through a crimper. Use gold watercolor to add paint across some of the raised lines to add interest.

3. Select a pattern from the “Worn Wood” paper pad and to 6 1/2″ x 4 3/4″. Distress all four sides of the paper using your scissors. Paint the edges with gold watercolor.

4. Stamp the largest floral image from the “Blossoms” stamp set onto a piece of watercolor paper using clear embossing ink. Add white embossing powder and heat set. Watercolor the flower using the colors of your choice. Use the coordinating dies to cut the image and splatter with gold watercolor. Cut the floral into three pieces adding 1/8″ foam tape to the back.

5. Adhere all three paper layers to a 5″x7″ card base.

6. Arrange the floral images around the sentiment and embellish with jewels.

My second card is very clean and simple.

1. Cut white cardstock to 8 5/8″ x 4 1/2″. Stamp the two smaller floral clusters from the “Blossom” stamps around the edges, changing the direction of your stamp and stamping off the edge.

2. Use clear embossing ink to stamp the sentiment from “Your Day” onto the center of the card panel. Add the embossing powder over the top and heat set.

3. Cut a piece of cardstock that coordinates with your floral stamping to 8 3/4″ x 4 9/16″ and adhere the stamped cardstock to the center.

4. Adhere to a card base.

Paradise

Hello there, Jackie here today. I know we are well into Autumn but I just couldn’t resist one last summery make. I have mixed the old with the new to create this little bit of paradise.

Step One:

Start by preparing the card base. Use the largest die from the circle set 1116 to draw a circle on the front of a 4.25 x 4.25″ card blank ensuring to leave the circle overhanging the top edge slightly, carefully cut out the circle creating a circular shaped card. Use the same die to die cut a circular panel.

Step Two:

Die cut and build all the elements inking or colouring which ever way you would like, here I have used distress inks around the edges leaving a small white area in the centres of the flowers and leaves.

Step Three:

To create the wooden sign. Use the chisel end of a brown alcohol marker to draw irregular lines onto a scrap piece of brown card. Fussy cut out a plank shape and ink around the edges then white heat emboss your sentiment.

Step Four:

Attach the circular panel to the card blank then arrange all the elements fixing some in place with 3d foam pads for added dimension. If you do not want your card to rock then snip off a small piece on the reverse side of the card blank.

Celebrate Card with New Flower Stamps

Hello again, Annette Green back again this month with a simple and elegant anniversary card I created for my parents who celebrated their 60th recently. Here’s how I made it…
First, I stamped some images from the Gratitude stamp set onto watercolor cardstock with archival black ink. Then I used my ECD watercolors to color them. The design of the images has stippled dots which are perfect little hints where the deepest shadows are, so I painted those areas a little darker.

Next, I used the compatible dies (coming soon!) to cut them out. This is such a great time saver!
After cutting a pretty paper for the front of my card, I selected a stencil that had a small, pretty repeating pattern. (Stencil to come soon too!)
Next, I spread some clear texture paste through the stencil onto my pattern paper. I gently lifted the stencil away and set it aside to dry completely.
You can see how this adds lovely texture and dimension to the paper once dry.
Onto some ivory cardstock, I stamped Celebrate and drew in the black drop shadow with a marker, then added some ink around the edges and some tiny dots in a compatible green color.
My ivory card base is 5″ x 7″. I layered some black paper first, then the pattern paper, and added a die-cut doily.
Next, I started layering elements flat onto the card.
To finish off the front, I added the final die-cut flower piece with dimensional foam tape to pop it up.
A little bit of stamping on the inside and the card is done! Super simple, but very elegant. Thanks for visiting today. Have a great day!

Garden-themed Mason Jar Junk Journal

Hello again everyone, Annette Green here to share my Garden-themed Mason Jar Junk Journal using the new Mason Jar Snow Globe special. The pages are a beautiful mix of papers, ephemera, sewing, fabric, vellum and kraft. I’ve created a Process Video (below) to share how it all came together along with some tips too, so I hope you have a moment to check it out.

The new set is SO much fun to create with. I’ve incorporated several stamp sets and a few additional dies in making this journal as well.

As I explain in the video, I’ve used both of the Reminiscence Books, with a few additional papers from Graphic 45. The big bee stamp is one I’ve had for years from Stampotique.

This is a nice thick album of about 1.5 inches (3.81 cm) before adding your photos or keepsakes.

The covers are made with a thick chipboard base and the rings I used are larger than the ones which come with the special. All the pages are cut from the Mason Jar die.

Some pages are cut from fabric like the one on the right (above). I’ve stitched around the edges on my sewing machine using a natural brown thread. Vellum seed packets slide under the band to hold seeds or keepsakes inside. I explain how I do all of this in the video.

Each page is unique in its style and texture. I’ve created a pocket for tags on this left page, and stamped the little girl for the right page.

To dress up some of the blank pages, I added various Journaling Cards from different Graphic 45 collections.

Watercolor paper sprayed with various Distress Sprays made the pine tress come to life on this page. I thoroughly enjoyed making this one-of-a-kind album and I hope you enjoy watching my process. All products I’ve used are listed below.

Springtime Nature Planner

Hello, it’s Annette Green here today with two spreads in my Nature Planner and a video walk-through of my process. Springtime in Greenville, SC is especially beautiful and since we are still new to the area, I’ve been in awe of this natural beauty and taking lots of photos.

Working in my Espresso Sidekick Planner, I have been documenting all sorts of nature. For my Spring photos, I chose to use the new Reminiscence The Book 2 papers with their bright and cheerful colors.
In the video, I share my method for beginning my pages, how I decide on the colors and then determine my photo sizes.
I am SO impressed with the beautiful macrame die-cut in this set! It cuts out perfectly and looks great on any page.
The stamps designed by Esther are fun to mix and match, especially these little girls in several of the sets.
I love how I don’t need a lot of embellishments to make a page look great. The paper collection has such a variety of cut-apart elements to choose from and layer together. You Are Amazing Creating with Florals 6

Hello Friends and Welcome! It’s Karan Gerber here today to share some florals with you. I am in love with the floral dies and today I am sharing a technique I came up with using Florals 6. Looking at this die, you might wonder what floral you can make of it. I decided this would make a great peony. 


To begin with we will need to cut a few flowers from Florals 6

Here is my start, creating a 5×7 card base 


I colored all the florals with Tea Rose Archival Ink and the leaves with Peeled Paint Distress Ink and Bundled Sage. I shaped them and then kept them close together while using my glue gun using stamens that complement the color.

Two-Color Flowers

Karen here today. I love playing with the florals, and today, I’m featuring a couple cards made with the first release that uses two colors for the flowers. So many fun options with these gorgeous flowers.

I had some of this gorgeous onion paper in my stash that I wanted to use in the backgrounds for these florals today. For this card I die-cut it with a Stitched Indented Rectangle Dies. For this card, I then added 1/2 of a Mandala die cut that I first added 101mm Double Sided Adhesive. I then added a sentiment from the Destination Phrases Stamps. I cut the stamped phrase using a Postage Stamp Square and then cut off the ends and top. The green polkadot paper was die cut with the fun hexagon shape in the Decorative Insert Dies from the Art Journal Collection. Next I colored and shaped the florals from the Florals 1 Dies die cut using 90 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock.

All of the ink I used for these florals was from Distress Ink. The flower base was first colored with Kitsch Flamingo and then I daubered the edges just slightly with Wilted Violet. I used my finger to add a smidge of Wilted Violet in the centers. For the small flowers, I added some Wilted Violet ink and water onto my craft glass and then just doused the flowers. For the leaves, I used Mowed Lawn and Wild Honey. From here, I spritzed the back of the paper before shaping as it really helps the flowers to hold their shape when dry.

For the next card, I started by adding some Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink through a stencil from the Pattern Stencil Pack to a piece of 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock. I first cut a piece of the onion-skin paper using the Winter Edges Dies. I adhered that to the Soft Finish Cardstock and then die cut with the Stitched Indented Rectangles Dies. I die cut the florals from the Florals 3 dies and colored the leaves with Distress Ink in Bundled Sage and Vintage Photo and the flowers with Broken China and Blueprint Sketch. The “heart leaves” is also from the Decorative Insert Dies from the Art Journal Collection. The sentiment, again from the Destination Phrases Stamps, was cut with the Diagonal Stitched Fishtail Dies. I added a piece of the Postage Stamp Square at the bottom that I colored with Broken China.

Happy Spring

It’s time for another group theme on our blog today. This time we would like to inspire you with some beatiful work around the theme “Spring”. We asked our designers to create some colorful projects or projects that remind them of Spring. Let’s see what they created!

Joseph Nguyen created this beautiful card using a combination of dies from the Fantasy Flowers collection by Anita Izendoorn. He also created a Koala using the Koala die set who sits beautiful in the center of the card.
When we think about Spring, for many people Easter comes up and so it did for Katelyn Grosart. She created this beautiful egg shaped card using the Elegant Easter Egg Large die, the Large and Small Flowers and the Triple Leaves. The “happy easter” is from the Words 2 – Happy Holidays set.
Lisanne Geerdink made this beautiful insert for her planner. She added a picture of little flowers that just started to bloom. A great reminder that Spring has arrived. To decorate her page she used the Blooming Branches die set.
Karen Ostergard created this beautiful card that will definately put a smile on your face. The card has some lovely pastel colors with the flowers so vibrant and pretty. For the background she used the Cubic Background die.
EK Gorman created this colorful Happy Easter card using the Sping Basket die. She used a combination of Silk Microfine Glitters for the grass and eggs in and around the basket. So pretty!
Tina Guigui made this beautiful card using the cut-outs from the Floral Burst Background die. Love this technique and the way she colored. Tina also made another card where she used the actual die cut that you can find on her blog. For the sentiment she used the Spring Sentiments.
Karen Gerber created this beautiful Spring inspired card using a combination of dies and stamps. For the flowers she used the Florals 5 and the tags are from Planners Essentials 26 and the Butterfly Pocket Insert. She also used the Background 1 stamp. What a pretty combination!
Tanja Kabel created this adorable card using the Leaf Pattern Background and the Fairy 2 dies. She also used some green Silk Microfine Glitter to add some sparkle to the background. Love this effect. The sentiment is from the Once Upon a Time Sentiment set.
Last but not least is this colorful cards created by Annette Green who also used the Spring Basket die for her card. She added some beautiful little flowers from Florals set 3 and some leaves from the Leaves and Branches. Love the coloring!
Fantasy Flowers

Christmas is on its way

Hello everyone, my name is Joyce Schmidt design team member for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I was putting away the black, orange and purple of the Halloween season and was playing around with the Fantasy Florals in preparation for Christmas.  I found this Grapevine wreath in my stash and decided it needed Poinsettias made from the Floral #2 (1774).

First, I wanted the wreath to look snowy. I painted a mixture of glue and acrylic paint onto the wreath so I could stick the chunky shimmery glitter. After painting it I sprinkled the glitter, I let it sit to dry. 

I die cut all four of the shapes from the Floral #2 from red cardstock, and one set of each from green cardstock. Since poinsettias are not really a flower, rather a bunch of leaves, I only used the flower die not the leaves from this set. I used the larger of the 4 dies to act as my leaves.

I shaped the flowers on my foam mat with the back of my Elizabeth Craft Designs tweezers. Just for added dimension I distressed the edges of the petals. 

After layering  the flowers together slightly off set using my Kid’s Choice glue, I inserted gold stamens in the middle.  Using hot glue, I placed the flowers onto the wreath. At this point it looked a little bare. 

I got out my Trio of Leaves die (1464) and die cut some of these in green cardstock. I was the perfect touch to “fill in the holes”. 

I hope you will try this project. It is very easy and can be adapted to use with any of the Elizabeth Craft Designs florals, for any season.
