Hi there! Karen here today. I only recently got my hands on the amazing new flowers here at Elizabeth Craft Designs. They are so much fun to play with! In my post today, I show two fun examples of cards using the new flowers.
Here’s how I created this fun card.
Cut a 8-1/2″x11″ piece of Soft Finish Cardstock in half length-wise and score/fold in the middle to create a top-fold card base.
Die cut a card front using the Stitched Rectangle Dies (Patterned orange cardstock)
Cut two strips of green paper at 1/2″ and 3/4″ by 5″ and add them to the left side of the card front. (I adhered mine just inside the rectangle stitching)
Die cut a large Fitted Circle and trim a bit from one side, and layer it over the green strips.
Die cut a small and medium size of Florals 1 from light yellow cardstock and ink edges with Dried Marigold Distress Ink. Die cut the leaf from the Florals 1 from light green cardstock and ink the edges with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.
Shape the flower and leaf. (For the flower, I use a simple foam pad with a stylus and shape in circular motions on the back-side and then “punch” into the middle on the front. I then work the flower and leave a bit with my fingers until I like the look of it.)
Add the flower and a sentiment to the card front.
As a fun embellishment, I put some of the White Craft Drops on a piece of “waste” release sheet from the Double Sided Adhesive. When dry, I color them with a Copic Marker, and then they can be glued onto the project – either as a flower center or just an embellishment.
The next card was made with a FuN sentiment stamp, For You.
On this card, I stamped that amazing sentiment and cut it out with Fitted Circles. In this card, I added the circles and strips before die cutting the card front, and I did not shape those fun flowers from the Florals 3 set. I think these flowers are super cute just flat as embellishments too.

I decided to do a slimline card today. The size of the card measures 81/2 X 31/2 inches. I used the Elizabeth Craft Design soft finish cardstock 110lb to create the card base because I am using it as the base layer for my stencil. I used the rocks stencil (S038) and just used a little distress ink ad a blending brush, it was perfect for this card.
I used the soft finish card stock to die cut Elegant Ornament die (1780). Using the ink to paper transfer technique, I colored the paper brown. I then roughly applied gold embossing powder to certain areas, and heat embossed the powder. It gives it an antique finish as if it was metal.
I die cut leaves from all 3 of the floral sets 1,2,3 and just inked them with browns, oranges, and a dash of green to give it a fall look.
Next, I used my Elizabeth Craft Designs tweezers to add a little shape to the leaves so they would easily take on a realistic look.
To wrap it all up I die cut the Word “Autumn” from the 4 Seasons Set (1199) and used gold foil paper with Double sided adhesive on the back and it finished the inspiration perfectly!

Karen here today sharing a card I made with some of the fun, new products from the Art Journal line. This beautiful line of products is terrific for cardmaking, scrapbooking and – of course – art journaling!
I started this card by first cutting that pretty border from 90 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock using one of the dies from the Journal Edges set. I placed it on a piece of green cardstock and added another small strip of green cardstock just above the die cut part. I left a small part at the top with no glue, so I could tuck flowers in. I then cut the whole thing with a Stitched Rectangle Die. See below.
Next, I used the Watercolor Palette to paint beautiful flowers cut using 90 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock from the Flower Power Dies and from the Floral Insert Dies. I love the vibrant colors!
I added the flowers using Kids Choice Glue leaving the tops not fully glued down. I also added the “Smile” sentiment (from the Zen Sentiments Clear Stamps) to the card front. To finish off this card, I added some pink bakers twine.
Karen here today from Craftily Yours! When I sat down to craft today, I decided I just wanted to craft something FuN and positive. There’s so much craziness in the world, and crafting gives me my sanity breaks. I’m sure it’s the same for many of you.
I started off with two Stitched Rectangle Die cuts (2nd largest size) of 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock. On the left, I used Distress Oxide in Faded Jeans and the Dot Dot Dot stencil. On the right, I used Distress Oxide in Speckled Egg and the Make Your Mark Stencil.
Love those fun stencils. I also mixed up a bit of Wilted Violet with some water and splashed it with a paint brush here and there.
I took another two pieces of 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock and inked one up with more Faded Jeans, Speckled Egg and Wilted Violet. On this one, I stamped from the Garden Flowers and First Sights of Spring stamps and fussy cut out the flowers. On the second piece, I inked it up with Mowed Lawn and Iced Spruce and die cut the Blooming Branches dies. Finally, I stamped two sentiments on pieces that were left over using the Pieces of Life 4 – Retro stamps. I die cut them with a small circle I found in the Planner Labels set.
I had a bit of this fun lacy paper in my stash, so I also die cut this piece using the Planner Patterns dies. I cut it in half so I’d have enough for two cards. Each half is tucked behind a piece of the Reminiscence paper that I cut a few strips of for each card.
Finally, I assembled it all and added a few diamond dots and then added it to a card base. I love how my arty cards turned out and am grateful for you stopping by to take a look!
Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Loved Wall Hanging.
There’s only 1 day left until Valentine’s Day and I thought it would be fun to create a last minute wall hanging perfect to add to any place in your home. To create my project, I’ve used a variety of Charlene’s stamps and a some dies from Els van de Burgt Studio. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my wall hanging at home.
Step One. Die cut a 3/4″ Diagonal Stitched Fishtail out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the fishtail down to 2 1/2″. Apply Worn Lipstick Distress Ink to the Loved word from the Journaling Elements stamp set and stamp onto the fishtail. Distress the edges of the fishtail. Ink the edges of the fishtail using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Two. Die cut a 5 1/4″ Stitched Heart out of a book page. Distress the edges of the heart. Ink the edges of the heart using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Three. Die cut a 4 1/4″ Stitched Heart out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Worn Lipstick Distress Ink over the entire surface of the heart. Apply Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to the X’s stamp from the Journaling Elements and stamp randomly over the entire surface of the heart. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Distress the edges of the heart. Ink the edges of the heart using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Four. Die cut the medium Entwined Heart out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Candied Apple Distress Ink over the entire surface of the heart. Ink the edges of the heart using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Five. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Heart stamp from the Journaling Elements stamp set and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Reapply ink to the Heart stamp and stamp onto the same piece of watercolour cardstock. Using a waterbrush and Ruby Red Scribble Stick, colour in three of the hearts. Using a waterbrush and Blushing Scribble Stick, colour in the other three of the hearts. Once the hearts are dry, fussy cut them out. Ink the edges of the hearts using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Six. Choose one of the flower stamps from the A Field of Flowers stamp set. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the flower stamp and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Reapply ink to the flower stamp and stamp onto the same piece of watercolour cardstock. Using a waterbrush and Sedonna Scribble Stick, colour in one of the flowers. Using a waterbrush and Blushing Scribble Stick, colour in the other flower. Once the flowers are dry, fussy cut them out. Ink the edges of the flowers using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Seven. Choose one of the flower stamps from the Garden Flowers stamp set. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the flower stamp and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Reapply ink to the flower stamp and stamp onto the same piece of watercolour cardstock. Using a waterbrush and Ruby Red Scribble Stick, colour in one of the flowers. Using a waterbrush and Magenta Scribble Stick, colour in the other flower. Once the flowers are dry, fussy cut them out. Ink the edges of the flowers using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Eight. Foam square the pink stitched heart to the middle of the 5 1/4″ stitched heart. Adhere the entwined heart to the middle of the pink stitched heart. Adhere the loved fishtail 2″ from the bottom and 1/8″ from the right of the 5 1/4″ stitched heart.
Step Nine. Adhere the six hearts as desired on the left side of the heart as well as to the bottom middle of the loved fishtail.
Step Ten. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the flowers to the left hand side of the stitched hearts, making sure that you can see coloured small hearts.
Step Eleven. Punch two holes at the top of the stitched hearts. Tie a piece of twine through the two holes.

Today I thought it would be fun to do something a bit differently than making a card…
I’ve had this small metal chair I found at Michael’s in my “stash“ for some time and decided to decorate it with flowers from Elizabeth Craft Designs. It is a birthday gift for a very dear friend.
I used Lilies, Iris, Frosted Fern, Berry branch with leaves and Crocus. Kid’s craft glue did the trick of holding everything on the chair. Did you find the lady bug?

This project is a bit larger than most of mine, and was done as a new house-warming gift. It’s 9”x9” and I put it in a shadow box frame with glass so the flowers would be protected.
I used these dies: Maidenhair fern, variegated ivy, Lavender, Berry branch (which became pussy willows), Jasmine, Dahlia, dinner plate Dahlia 2, Wind in the Mist, Black-eyed Susan, Gerbera daisy, galvanized Bucket (I found a wooden button which fit the handle, and added depth), and the Chrysanthemum. The saying is from the stamp set ‘Little Words Mean A Lot.’
Whew….almost an entire garden in this one card!
The first thing I did was create a layout-for placement of the flowers.
The, I adhered the flowers with Kids Choice Glue on top of Modascrap Wood Effects paper.
Lastly, I placed the arrangement in a shadow box!
These are some of the ‘older’ flowers, but so much fun to make. You can make them any color you’d like for your project. Give them a try! You just might/will become an addict!
