Winter Wishes Snowman card

January 7, 2021

Hello and Happy New Year 2021! It´s Sanna here again with my January project share. I wanted to create a winter themed greeting card for this month and used the cute Jack Frost die by Joset with Planner Essentials Christmas Figures tree die to create the winter scene.

Here are the steps to the card:

Step 1: Die cut a strip of white paper with Adventure Edges to create a DIY stencil from paper. Use it to ink the background could pattern onto a white card base.
Step 2: Apply a Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet onto a piece of white Soft Finish Cardstock and die cut the tree from Planner Essentials 34 Christmas Figures die set. Make sure the adhesive is on the backside when die cutting the whole tree, but pointing towards you when die cutting the filigrane tree die piece. You will need the adhesive on top of be able to add glitter later.
Step 3: Now die cut the Snowflake from white Soft Finish Cardstock (also add an adhesive sheet on the back here too for easier adhering). Also die cut a few snowflakes using the Snow Globe die set, but this time again make sure the adhesive is on top.

Step 4: Using Distress Inks, apply color to the tree and the snowman parts. I used tones: Gathered Twigs, Old Paper, Black Soot, Evergreen Bough, Salty Ocean and Spiced Marmalade.
Step 5: Apply Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter onto the filigrane tree piece as well as the snowflakes.

Step 6: Adhere the green inked tree onto the card base and attach the filigrane, glittered tree piece on top. Now build the snowman together and adhere all pieces on place.
Step 7: Now use the For You stamp set by Sue Smith in combination with Joset´s Winter Sentiments to create the sentiment: “Winter Wishes” and stamp that onto the bottom of the card with black stamp ink. Apply the glittered snowflakes onto the background and the card is done.

I´ve again recorded a start-to-finish video for you to watch. I hope it gives you an even better idea on each and every step of this card.

I hope you enjoy this little card tutorial and get inspired to create fun wintery cards yourself! Wishing you all a nice January!!

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna

Wish Big Card

December 29, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Wish Big Card.

To create my card, I’ve used dies from the Paper Flower Collection as well as Joset Designs and stamps from Sue Smith Creative Design. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my card at home.

Step One. Choose two pieces of spring patterned paper. Die cut a 4″ Stitched Indented Rectangle out of one of the papers. Die cut a 3 1/2″ Stitched Indented Rectangle out of the other patterned paper. Distress the edges of both rectangles. Ink the edges of both rectangles using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Choose another piece of coordinating spring patterned paper. Die cut a 3 3/4″ Fitted Indented Rectangle out of the paper. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. Die cut a 2 1/4″ Fitted Rounded Rectangle out of a piece of cream cardstock. Take the Wish Big stamp out of the For You Stamp Set and apply Broken China Distress Ink to the stamp. Stamp onto the middle of the rectangle. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. From the Florals 3 die, die cut the each leaf twice out of green cardstock. Ink the edges of all four leaves using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. Die cut all three flowers from the Florals 3 die twice out of a piece of pink cardstock. Die cut all three flowers from the Florals 3 die once out of a piece of pink patterned paper that coordinates with the other papers. Die cut the centers once out of cream cardstock.

Step Six. Adhere the 3 3/4″ rectangle to the 4″ rectangle. Adhere the 3 1/2″ rectangle to the 3 3/4″ rectangle.

Step Seven. Foam square the Wish Big rectangle 1/8″ from the right and 5/8″ from the bottom of the 3 1/2″ rectangle.

Step Eight. Shape the leaves. Adhere the flowers together. Adhere the centers to the middle of the flowers.

Step Nine. Adhere the leaves as desired on the left hand side of the sentiment.

Step Ten. Foam square the flowers over top of the leaves as desired.

Step Eleven. Cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 4″ x 10 1/2″, score at 5 1/4″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Wish Big Card at home.

Katelyn

Birthday Happiness

October 5, 2020

Karen here! I am loving the fun stamps designed by Sue for Elizabeth Craft Designs. They are a great pairing with the fun floral dies designed by Anita and the background dies designed by Joset. It’s so cool that all of these fun products go together so well.

To create this card, first cut an 8-1/2×11″ piece of teal cardstock in half, scored and folded it to create a card base. Add 101mm Double Sided Adhesive to the back of a piece of 90lb White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut it with the Floral Burst Background die. Adhere this to the cardbase. On another piece of white cardstock, stamp “Birthday Happiness” from the For You Stamps and cut it with a Stitched Rounded Rectangle die. Cut the bottom off near the bottom of the stamp. Add a pink cardstock border and adhere it to the card. Outline the stamp with a Copic BG53. Add some fun lace at the bottom of the stamp.

Next, create the flowers by die cutting the Florals 1 Die with Double Sided Adhesive and using Petal Pink Silk Microfine Glitter from the Bloom Set. Dab the edges into Versamark Ink and gold embossing powder and heat set. (Els did a fun video showing this technique, and I was super inspired. Find the video here!) Use Metallic Gold Craft Drops for the centers, and add the fun flowers to the card!

I created a second card using the Florals 4 Dies with a NEW stamp by Sue for Christmas that is COMING SOON! On this card, I used Cool Diamond and Forest Green Silk Microfine Glitter along with the Organic Triangle Background Die.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Craftily yours, Karen
