Cardmaking Inspiration from the Design Team Joset Designs

Hip, Hop, Hello

March 11, 2021

Hi Friends, it’s EK. I don’t know about you, but with spring on the horizon, I am just craving outside and nature. I thought I would dive right into the season with the super cute Frog die set and some copic coloring.

Step One: Die cut the Frog die set out of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock. Color the pieces with alcohol markers. I used copic marker G21, G82, G24, and YG67.

Step Two: Color the Frog accent pieces. I used Y00 and Y11 for the eyes, W5 and W7 for the ‘black’ bits, and R22 and R24 for the tongue.

Step Three: Using a liquid adhesive, adhere the Frog pieces. I used Kids Choice Glue.

Step Four: Die cut and color the pond pieces and lily pad from the Frog dies set. I used BG70, BG72, BG75 and BG79 for the pond and G24, G28, and G29 for the lily pad.

Step Five: Blend ink onto a trimmed piece of cardstock into an ombre design. I used Speckled Egg, Stormy Sky, and Faded Jeans Distress.

Step Six: Die cut a frame from 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock. I used both the Stitched Indented Rectangle die set and Fitted Indented Rectangle die set.

Step Seven: Using 6mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, adhere the frame onto the ombre background. Using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive adhere the background onto an A2 card frame.

Step Eight: Using both liquid adhesive and 6mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, adhere the pond, lily pad and frog onto the card.

Step Nine: Add a sentiment from the Prince & Frog Sentiment stamp set to the card frame in blue ink. I used Fade Jeans Distress Oxide.

Step Ten: Add frog prints from the Prince & Frog Sentiment stamp set to the corners of the frame.

I hope you are as excited about spring as I am. Let me know in the comments below which of the ECD dies reminds you of spring the most. Until then, happy crafting.

Home Decor Joset Designs Planner Essentials

Picture This

February 21, 2021
It’s Sandy Diller here today with a fun little photo frame that is perfect for any child’s room where they can change the photo whenever they like. They can use it to display their favorite photos weather they are real or imaginary.

Begin by using the Castle Folding Card, cutting out the main part with the window section twice. Cut one down the center as shown above.

Line up the sections of the castle and glue together. Stamp some bricks using the stamp from the Prince & Frog Sentiments. Add some color, I used Watering Can Archival Ink and a blending brush.

Back the windows with the color of your choice, assemble the Prince and Princess and then add the photo frame from the Planner Essentials 3.

Crease the castle on each side, shown with the red arrows above.

When adding the backing for the frame – leave an open space just above the word PHOTO, shown with the white arrow above. This way the photos can be easily changed by sliding them into the opening.

For the base, simply cover a piece of chipboard with paper. In the photo above you will see that I marked where I wanted to place my castle and frame.

To make the frame stand up – cut 2 strips of cardstock 1″ X 5″ and crease ever inch. Fold on the creases and then glue together to form a box. Glue box at each end of the castle and then glue to base at an angle. This will keep the castle from falling over. Another piece of cardstock was added to the center section to help hold in place.

All that is left is to add the photo of your choice. A little crown was added to the photo just for fun.

Have a Royal Day,

Sandy

Fast and fun sentiment card

September 6, 2020

Hello everyone, it´s Sanna Lippert here again today with another guest design team project share. For my September project I created a fun and a super fast to make card. This card can be finished in under ten minutes.

Here is how to make the card:

Step 1: Take a green plain or polka dotted paper and attach Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back. Now take the legs from the Frog die and die cut 11 paires (for this card size) of legs. The adhesive on the back makes the adhering process very fast.
Step 2: Arrange the legs onto a ivory toned card base in rows of threes.
Step 3: Remove the adhesive backing and adhere the legs on place.
Step 4: Take a Dymo and type on black tape the sentence “break a leg”. Adhere on the card.
Step 5: Decorate with black liquid pearls, let dry and the card is done.

I´ve also recorded a short video to show you how fast such a card can be done. I hope you like the idea!!

See you again with another card project idea next month. Until then,
Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna

You Are Toad-ally Awesome Card

September 2, 2020

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Do you struggle with Masculine cards. I admit I do but with the new Once Upon A time release there are several options to create a masculine card. The new background dies or the Prince and Knight’s Armour are a few examples. I used the Frog and the Leaf Pattern Background die along with the Prince & Frog sentiments to create a fun Masculine themed card. Below you will find the steps to create your own You Are Toad-ally Awesome Card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score at 4 1/4” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Diecut Leaf Pattern Background using Patterned Paper. Adhere to card front using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 3 – Stamp Prince & Frog sentiment using Versamark on Black Cardstock. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder and remove the excess. Heat set it with a heat tool. Diecut the sentiment using Diagonal Stitched Fishtail and adhere to card bottom left using Foam Tape.

Step 4 – Diecut Frog using various colours of Cardstock (or White Soft Finish Cardstock and ink the pieces using your favourite inks). Assemble and Adhere to card using Foam Tape. Be sure to make sure that it looks like to Frog arms are holding the sentiment.

This card can be used for several occasions by changing the sentiment. This can also be a feminine card by changing the colours. Below is a link to all the product’s used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
