Eat, Drink & Be Scary

September 17, 2019

Hello – Samantha here! Today I am sharing a Halloween-themed card. Halloween might not be wildly celebrated here in Australia – but I have always enjoyed the colour schemes and fun images associated with this holiday. I also enjoy eating candy and chocolate…

Instructions:

Step 1: Using black cardstock die cut the spider web and adhere this to a black card base measuring 10.5cm x 15.5cm .

Step 2: Using bright pink cardstock die cut the spider web – use the negative pieces and insert these into the negative space of the black outlined spider web.

TIP: Adhere Clear Double Sided adhesive to the back of the pink card before die-cutting to make the adhering process quick and easy.

Step 3: Repeat step 2 to fill in the remaining negative spaces using bright orange and purple card or specialty paper.

Step 4: Adhere Double Sided Adhesive to black card stock and die cut the spiders 3x.

Step 5: Remove the release sheet to expose the adhesive layer and apply a generous amount of Silk Microfine Glitter (Basic Black). Brush off excess glitter and return it to the jar, then polish with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.

Step 6: Using watermark ink – stamp the sentiment. Apply a generous amount of white embossing powder and heat set with a heat gun/tool. Trim to size as shown.

(Optional) Add machine stitched detail to the spider web.

Step 7: Assemble card – use foam tape to adhere the sentiment and spiders. Embellish with enamel dots and a twine bow. Adhere to an A6 side folding card base.

DIY Glitter Background Halloween Card

September 11, 2019

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I have a DIY Background using Silk Microfine Glitter and the new Spider Web die set from Joset Designs. Below you will find the steps to create your own background card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim Black Soft Finish Cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″. Diecut Fitted Indented Rectangles using the trimmed cardstock.

Step 3 – Diecut Spider Web using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Adhere Pixie Spray to the backside to create a stencil. Adhere the stencil on top of the diecut created from Step 2.

Step 4 – Create your own Glitter Paste by mixing Silk Microfine Glitter Copper Rose and Texture Paste Transparent Gloss. Apply the mix onto the Cardstock with the stencil. Once completely covered remove the stencil and let dry.

Step 5 – Adhere the Background created from Step 4 to the card front using Foam Tape.

Step 6 – Diecut Spider Web (spiders x 3) and adhere to card front using Foam Squares. I added Shimmer using a Shimmer Pen for added sparkle.

Step 7 – Stamp Spooky sentiment onto Black Soft Finish Cardstock using Versamark. Sprinkle Gold Embossing powder and remove the excess. Heat set it with a heat tool.

Step 8 – Diecut Labels 1 using the sentiment created from Step 7. Adhere to card using Foam Tape.

This Glitter Paste technique can be used for any occasion by simply changing the color of the Glitter. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Christmas In July

July 4, 2019

Hello! Samantha here, bringing you some Christmas card inspiration in July! Nothing beats being prepared six months before Christmas –– I personally try to make as many holiday themed cards as I can to avoid the crazy rush that leads up to Christmas day.

Card instructions:

Step 1: Stamp the Circle Background stamp on cardstock and pattern paper, fussy cut around the circles.

Step 2: Position and adhere the circles on to your card front (measuring: 10.5cm x 15.5cm) as shown below.

Step 3: (Optional) Add machine stitched detail to the circle Christmas tree.

Step 4: Stamp the Classic Christmas Sentiment on to the Banner die. Adhere this to your card front.

Step 5: Adhere Double Sided Adhesive to white card stock and die cut the stars from the Elegant Christmas Tree die set.

Step 6: Remove the release sheet to expose the adhesive layer and apply a generous amount of Silk Microfine Glitter (Moonbeam). Brush off excess glitter and return it to the jar, then polish with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.

Step 7: Embellish card with the glitter stars and a twine bow. Adhere card front to an A6 card base.
