Be Yourself A2 Card

September 19, 2023

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Whenever I am stuck on creating a card with a background the best solution is to use a stencil and lightly apply ink. This doesn’t need to bold. By applying ink this takes away from the starkness of the White panel. Always use a stencil that best represents the other elements in your card. Below are the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish to 4 1/4″ x 11″. Score at 5 1/2″ and fold for a horizontal top fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Place Planner Stencils 2 (floral one) on top of the card front. Using a Blender Brush lightly apply Ink of your choice. I used a teal blue and green inks to create my background. Note that I faded the ink blending as I got towards the edges.

Step 3 – Stamp Bugs And Kisses sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

Step 4 – Diecut Elegant Leaves 1 using White Finish Cardstock if you want to color in any color medium. If you don’t want to color then diecut in using Green Cardstock. Adhere to card front using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 5 – Diecut Caterpillar using White Finish Cardstock if you want to color in any color medium. If you don’t want to color then diecut in various colors of Cardstock. Assemble and adhere to card front using Kids Choice Glue. For the head I used a little Foam Tape.

This card can be used for several occasions by simply changing the sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Grasshopper Birthday

August 14, 2023

Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here on the blog today. I am totally loving the new Bugs and Butterflies collection. The new Beautiful Brights pattern cardstock and Pretty Pastels cardstock is an added bonus. Here is a card using the new patterned papers and Grasshopper die set.

Preparation:

Cut and assemble the grasshopper from the Grasshopper die set (for mine, is used some of the Pretty Pastels cardstock). Cut 2 blade of grass from the Grasshopper dies set using Beautiful Brights patterned cardstock. Cut the second largest rectangle from the Indented Stitched Rectangles die from blue cardstock. Cut an A2 card base from white cardstock. Cut a the second largest rectangle from Pretty Pastels blue patterned cardstock using the indented Rectangle die set. Cut the words “happy birthday” from the Shakers die set out of white cardstock.

Instructions:
Adhere the blades of grass to the blue patterned indented rectangle cardstock panel. Trim any excess from the blades of grass.

Adhere the grasshopper to the patterned indented rectangle cardstock panel. Tip: if you want the legs of the grasshopper for follow the curve of the blade of grass, use a blade of grass as a template to line up the legs as you are assembling the grasshopper.

Adhere the patterned indented rectangle cardstock panel to the blue cardstock panel

Adhere the card panel to the card base. Adhere the Happy Birthday from the Shakers dies set to the card.
