Happy Halloween Mini Slimline Card

October 4, 2021

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I have a super cute Halloween cad to share with you using the new release from Joset Designs. Below are the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 7” x 6”, score at 3 1/2” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Mini Slimline).

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 3 1/2” x 6”. Apply Distress Oxide Inks starting from the bottom Wild Honey, Festive Berries, Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire, Black Soot. Spray some water and pick up the excess using a paper towel.

Step 3 – Stamp Spooky sentiment (older set, if you don’t have it then use the new Autumn Words) to the upper right corner on the background created from Step 2 using Versamark. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder, remove the excess and heat set it with a heat tool. Adhere to card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 4 – Diecut Adventure Edges (hillside using White Soft Finish Cardstock and grass using Green Cardstock). Color in Hillside using Distress Oxide Walnut Stain. Adhere the hillside using Foam Tape and Grass using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 5 – Diecut Corn Field using various colors of cardstock (or White Cardstock and add Distress Oxide Ink). Assemble and adhere to card using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 6 – Diecut Scarecrow using various colors of cardstock (or White Cardstock and add Distress Oxide Ink) and 2 crows using Black Cardstock. Assemble and adhere to card using Foam Tape.

I love the new Scarecrow. In future I want to do a card using the Scarecrow to create a Raggedy Ann and Andy. Which will extend the life of the Scarecrow beyond Halloween theme. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Halloween Scarecrow

October 1, 2019

Hello Friends! It’s EK and I am popping in to let you know it is the first day of October, so that means it is officially time to break out all the fun Halloween stuff. I am so excited that Joset released earlier this year a fun-filled line of Halloween dies. They are going to be ghoul-tastic this year.

Step One: Die cut all the pieces from the Scarecrow die set using scrapes of printed paper. I used scrapes from the It’s Christmas Time, White Christmas, Relax in the Garden, Thinking About-Grand Canyon and Sweet Vintage Rose paper packs.

Step Two: Using Kids Choice Glue, assemble the scarecrow.

Step Three: Using alcohol markers, add some shadowing. I used N0, N2, and N4 copics.

Step Four: Trim a piece of Dusky Sky Soft Finish Cardstock to 5.5×5.5 inches. Using the Earth & Sky stencil and some Distress Oxides, add clouds and a moon to the background. I used Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. Adhere the inked cardstock to a piece of 12×6 inch trimmed piece of Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock, that is scored and folded into a 6×6 inch card frame.

Step Five: Die cut the Tree die set from some Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock. Adhere the tree and grass to the card frame.

Step Six: Adhere the Scarecrow and mice to the card frame.

Thank you for peeking in today. Let us know what Halloween project you are most excited to create this year in the comments below. Until then, happy crafting.
