Be Merry holiday interactive card

September 13, 2022

Hi Everyone, Thank you for joining me today to make this super fun interactive Christmas Card using Joset’s Santa’s Sleigh and florals #12. So grab a coffee sit back and lets get started.

Step 1: Take your colored cardstock and cut it @ 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score along the 8 1/2″ side @ 2 1/8″ and 5 1/2″, cut your card front 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and set aside.

Step 2: fold up your score lines and add glue as per the picture above and attached your card front, you will want to line the card along the bottom, as per picture below.

Step 3: With your choice of cardstock cut out your sleigh, with silver card stock cut out your sleigh runners. I took a light sanding block and lightly sanded the runners and then inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink. Next I cut out a few flower petals from florals #12 from a coordinating designer paper and created my poinsettia style flower. Next I added green leaves and cut out 2 gold stems from Winter Greens.

Step 4: With the Classic Christmas sentiments set, stamp Be Merry and Season’s Greetings with embossing ink and emboss with gold detailed embossing powder and heat set.

Step 5: Out of White Cardstock cut 3 3/4 x 5 and run it through your choice of 3D embossing folder.

Step 6: Assemble your white dot background to your choice of designer paper and attached to your card base, next I attached my sleigh and Be Merry Quote. I pop dotted my florals #12 flower, leaves and gold branches. Once my card is assembled I speckled my card front cover with heavy body white paint and a metallic gold paint to give my card some shimmer.

Step 7: Attach your designer paper to the inside of your card and your Season’s Greetings quote and speckle the inside of your card with gold and white heavy body paint.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post today, if you have any questions about this technique please feel free to reach out to me via Facebook.

Christmas in the forest

August 11, 2022

Hii everyone, it is my turn to share a card with you today. In the Netherlands it is pretty warm so I made a Christmas card. I’m using some older dies, some new planner dies and everything in between hihi.

So it is a pop-up card in Christmas theme. I started with a piece of brown paper 21 cm x 30,5 cm. I made a crease at the 15,25 cm. Exactly the middle. In the Middle I used the 2 cm pop-up dies.

I did the same thing but then with a smaller pop-up dies. I did this at both sides 3,5 cm from the outside. I also trimmed from light brown paper a piece who fits perfectly at the bottom.

Now it’s time to start build the card and making some fun elements. So I started with the mushroom. This is a dies from Joset’s Storybook Collection. I used almost all the dies only the grass and the flowers not this time. But I did used the lights from the newest planner release from Esther, Planner Essentials 53. I die-cut it twice, one in brown, one in Soft Finish Cardstock so I can build up the lights. I also used the Winter Greens from the Florals the give the Mushroom a Christmas look.

The back from the Mushroom is adhere at pop-up in the middle. The next step is adhere the trees at the back, not the pop-up. The trees are from the Mason Jar kit, beautiful trees. I adhere them in different hights, so it gives more dimension.

Then I adhere some lighter trees at the darker trees.

And at least some trees at the pop-up.

Later I will add someting between the trees but for now I will make the gnomes from Joset’s dies. These gnomes are great because you can make different gnomes. I made a small boy with a mushroom and tree. I added the tree later so you can’t see it on this picture. I also used the star from Planner Essentials 53.

And the girl gnome with some holly at here dress. This is a dies from the snowglobe from Joset’s dies.

Then I was thinking how can I fill the rest? Well I adhere some stones at path. These stones are from the sea collection.

And what I also did is making to fishtails at both sides with 2 different sentiments. Both sentiments are from the Joyful Wishes stamp.

So that was my blogpost for today. I know I used a lot of dies but go through your dies and see what you have. You can also used some other dies for the path.

So thankyou for visiting! See you soon.

Kind regards Lisanne Geerdink

Happy Canada Day!!

June 30, 2022

Thank you for joining me today, here is my festive Canada Day blog post. This year Canada is celebrating 155 years as a nation and I could not think of a better way to celebrate Canada Day than to make this cute card for a few close friends. As they are also celebrating their birthday’s too. So let’s get started.

Step 1: Out of mixed media card stock I used Oxide Ink and started with Twisted Citron, next I blended in my Rustic Wilderness oxide ink. I then added Tumbled Glass and blended along the top with Unchartered Mariner (Which by the way is my new favorite new color for the oxides). Last step using my fan brush I splattered with water and dabbed it with some paper towel, set it aside and let it dry.

Step 2: Next I cut the Moose and Beaver critters from Joset’s Collection. The Beaver was cut from kraft cardstock and colored over with Rusty Hinge Oxide (This gives the beaver a more reddish brown fur). I cut the moose from a medium brown, dark brown and grey card stock and inked the edges with Vintage Photo Ink. For the Canadian flag I cut a heavy piece of white cardstock 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 and the red cardstock strips are 5/8 x 1 1/2, I lightly inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink. Next I used my Turkey die set and cut the leaves from red cardstock and used the Maple leaf in the center of my flag. The trees where cut from the Mason Jar set out of medium green and inked with Vintage Photo distress ink.

Step 3: I attached my tree first only adhering along the center of the tree, this allows you to lightly fold up the branches giving it a 3D look. I added the small tree from the collection next to the large tree. I double pop dotted the moose over the smaller tree bending out the lower branch over the moose. Next I added pop dots onto the beaver and the back of the flag. I used a miscellaneous curved die for the flag pole. ** Last step I like to take a white heavy body paint and speckle my card.**

I hope you enjoyed todays blog post and brought you some inspiration, Have a wonderful creative weekend!

Sea you soon

June 6, 2022

Hi All! Lisanne Here. So the weather will be a little bit better every day so I thought it is time for an ocean themed card. Just a great season to make a lot of fun cards. Today I will use the sea collection from Joset which is great for these type of cards.

First I used a stencil from the Earth Patterns to make a background on the stitched hexagon. I did this with the Elements ink, Mermaid. After that I used the same colour to make the background light blue.

After that I made all the elements for this card. I made the Lighthouse(1754) and the stones from the sea weed(1752) dies. I colored this with different inks like Distress Ink, Distress Oxide Ink, Elements Ink. All these colors look perfect with each other.

As you can see I adhered the Lighthouse on the left. I put the stones in front with some coins in between. I thought it was a fun idea but also the yellow color lift up the card.

I used a sentiment from the Splish Splash sentiment ‘sea you soon’ and stamped this on the background with some black ink.

Lastly I adhered two seagulls with an orange beak. Love these small seagulls at the card, not in real haha.

And here is the whole card. I hope you enjoy creating this card as much as I did. Thank you so much for following along. Sea you soon!

Thinking of you card!

April 28, 2022

Hi everyone, thank you for joining me today for my inspirational post. I was feeling the need to create with some bright fun colors, so I hope you enjoy this fruitastic card!! so lets get started!

Step 1: Start with a 4×4 square piece of cardstock, next I took my Make your Mark Stencil and applied yellow ink directly to the back of the stencil I choose the honey come side, next, I lightly spritzed it with some water and pressed onto the cardstock.

Step 2: I took some of the Reminiscence washi tape #1 and ripped up a few pieces and added them to the card, as per picture above and set card panel aside.

Step 3: Cut and ink your squirrel, instead of the nut being brown I used red cardstock to make it into a strawberry (a great idea from another ECD Ambassador) I added pink to his cheeks and two white dots from a gel pen.

Step 4: Cut your strawberries from red card stock and the leaves from green cardstock and ink the edges. I used my paper shaping kit to add a little dimension to my strawberries and leaves.

Step 5: Next I assembled my Squirrel, Strawberries and leaves to my card panel as per picture above.

Step 6: I took some white acrylic paint and speckled the front of my card, set aside and let dry.

Step 7: I took a piece of card stock 5 x 10 and score @ 5″ to make my card front.

Step 8: I repeated the same process as the front of the card to the inside, by adding some yellow ink to the back of the stencil spritzing it and laying it down onto the cardstock.

Step 9: I added a stamp sentiment and layered it onto the black cardstock and adhered it to the inside of the card. Last I added a strawberry, vine and flower.

Step 10: I cut a piece of black card stock 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and matted my front panel to it, then I added it to my card base.

I hope you enjoyed todays post. Have a wonderful day and happy crafting.

Gifts from the garden!

March 28, 2022

Hi everyone, Happy Monday! Its Katie here with a cute little project idea that I wanted to share with you all. I am super excited to get into my garden this year and start my veggie patch, but the ground is still a little frozen here in Alberta, Canada. So I thought I would start by making a few gifts for my gardening friends.

Step 1: Start by cutting out your bunny and carrots from Joset’s Bunny die #1929 using your choice of coordinating cardstock. I inked the edges with grey ink and added some pink to the bunnies cheeks and assembled the bunny and carrots as per the photo above.

Cut your hat and brim from Joset’s Farmer set #1859 using a yellow and red cardstock, I inked the edges with brown ink. Cut one or two black crows from Joset’s Scarecrow die #1907 and one grey crate from Farm Accessories die #1858, and ink the edges with dark brown.

Out of kraft cardstock cut out a Seed Packet from -Sidekick Essentials #16, I inked the edges with brown ink and added a piece of acetate in the window of the seed packet. Then with black ink, I stamped the Seeds label from In my garden stamp set #CS212 onto the top part of the seed packet. Last step, fold up the edges and glue your pocket together and set aside.

Next, I Took apart some sisal rope and added it to the brim of the bunnies hat. (I wanted to make the hat look like it was coming a part) I added the tiny crow to the center.

Next lay your images out as per the picture above or change it up, and adhere your items to the seed packet.

*Optional- I like to speckle with white and brown paint.

My favorite and final step to this project, sign and date the back of your envelope and add your seeds!

The best part of this project is you can create a whole bunch of different seed packets, wildflowers, sunflowers and corn. Just cut out your images and add it to your bunnies crate.

I think cutting out pumpkins from Joset’s Hay Ride #1909 and add them to your crate would be a perfect way to give some of your favorite pumpkin seeds.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post for today, have a wonderful day!!
