Planner Essentials

My heart belongs to you! by Katie Porcina

February 24, 2023

Hi everyone, Katie here with todays blog post. This year my husband and I are celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary, and with the prompt being “love” for the month of February I wanted to create this heartfelt creation for my planner essentials album. So grab a coffee and I will walk you through how I created these pages!

Step 1: Out of the worn wood paper cut your large heart, and cut your small heart from your choice of designer paper I used an older 49 & Market collection. Next, I cut out some white branches from blooming branches. I cut out two mats and added my ephemera and accessories.

Step 2: Cut two base pages from planner essentials 1 from your choice of designer paper, next I cut my polaroid photo mat from planner essentials 3 & 4 and tags from the worn wood designer paper. Cut out your quote “Enjoy this moment” from planner essentials 8.

Step 3: Creating your small heart pocket, first take your large heart stitched die and cut from clear acetate, next cut your small heart from your designer paper and attach. You will want to add your holes and line it up to the match the holes on your planner base page.

I attached the pocket leaving the top open to add my tags. Last assemble your pages as per the picture above adding your ephemera, branches, quotes, flowers, photo mats, date and enforcement rings on both pages.

I hope todays post brought you some inspiration to create your own anniversary or special moment pages.

Have a wonderful day and happy creating, >Katie<

Easter’s on its way!

February 28, 2022

Hi everyone, Happy Monday!

Today I am showing you this super cute Easter double page layout for my planner essentials album using the new Bunnies, Easter basket and Daffodils from Joset’s new collect. I can not get enough of these bunnies! I have made a stock pile of them for cards and future projects so stay tuned for those.

Lets get started!

Step 1: Create two bunnies from the Bunny Die #1929 from Joset’s new collection, I created these bunnies from white, grey, dark grey and black card stock, I added a little pink ink for the cheeks before attaching the whiskers. Next I created 3 carrots from orange and green cardstock.

Step 2: Next I cut out the Easter Basket from Die #1932 from dark brown, light brown and pink card stock. I inked the edges with brown ink. Next I cut out white flowers and eggs in all different cardstock colors. Then I took the grass die from Slim Line Adventures #1925 and cut out a strip of grass and set aside.

Step 3: cut out 1 Daffodil from Die #1933 from a light yellow card stock and ink the edges with brown or a dark yellow ink. the stems are cut from green cardstock.

Step 4: Cut your designer paper of your choice from Planner Essentials Die #41, next I took the rounded corner mat die and cut out three different designer papers. One is for the mat and two are trimmed for pockets. I adhered the first mat by gluing the three sides leaving the top with no glue to create the pocket, I recreated the second pocket the same way and attached it to the base mat.

Step 5: Once your pockets have been created, place your basket and bunny image as per picture above, the bunny is pop dotted with foam dots.

Step #6: Cut your designer paper of your choice from Planner Essentials Die #41, next I took the rounded corner mat and cut out a base mat.

Step #7: I cut out of dark brown cardstock the “Photo” frame from Planner Essentials #3 and matted some designer paper behind it. From dark brown cardstock I cut out a photo mat 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ and the designer paper is 3×3 and attached to the mat. I first attached the bottom photo mat and pop dotted the “Photo” mat to the top. Next I attached my bunny, daffodil, grass and eggs as per picture above.

Step #8: Using Reinforcement Varity Pack #1736 I cut out all the rings from light cardstock and attached to both pages.

Step 9: I like to finish off my pages by speckling with white craft paint.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, if you have any questions in regards to this project please feel free to reach out to me on Facebook @ Katie Porcina.

Happy crafting and take care!
