Mindfulness

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! Michelle here and I’m back to share a card made using the beautiful Mindfulness Stamp Set.

Step 1: Cut a piece of watercolour paper to 4.25″x5.5″ and create an ombré watercolour wash using Prussian Blue from the 24 Pan Watercolour Palette. Set that aside to dry.

Step 2: Stamp the floral image from the Mindfulness Stamp Set using an alcohol marker friendly black ink and colour using alcohol ink markers.

Step 3: Cut out the image using the coordinating die. Also cut out 2 more, without stamping the image. This will allow you to stack them together to add dimension. This is easier than cutting foam tape and/or foam squares as there are small areas. Also stamp the Mindfulness sentiment using black ink and cut that out with the coordinating die.

Step 4: Cut a piece of white cardstock to 3.75″x5″ and lightly ink blend using a blue ink on the bottom right hand corner of the paper and slowly fade away towards the upper left. Add some splatters using a black gouache, trying to keep them on the ink blended area. Set aside to dry.

Step 5: Take the ink blended cardstock and add the Waves Stencil. Apply embossing paste over the stencil, concentrating on the ink blended and splattered area, ensuring not to get a full coverage with the paste. Set aside to fully dry.

Step 6: Once the watercolour piece is dry, diecut it using a tag die. Adhere the stacked florals to the left side of the tag using some 3mm double sided adhesive, making sure that the image hangs off the side a bit. Tie some twine to the top of the tag. Add some foam squares to the back of the sentiment and place that at the bottom of the tag, overlapping the flower a bit. Using foam adhesive adhere the tag to the stencilled piece and then add all of that to an A2 (4.25″x5.5″) top folding cardbase. Add a scattering of a few sequins to finish it off.
