A Way With Words Inspiration from the Design Team ModaScrap Paper Flowers Planner Essentials Scrapbooking Soft Finish Cardstock

Oma & Me

August 19, 2019

Good morning! I was honored to be asked by Els to create a layout of her granddaughter and her. I will admit, I was slightly nervous to create something for someone else but the photo she provided was so wonderful that it helped design the layout.

To create this layout you will need 2 full sheets of paper (I used ModaScrap Wood Effect paper (the top one) and ModaScap Relax in the Garden. I also used lots of bits and pieces and 1/2 sheets of the relaxing the garden papers. You will also need an edge distresser, brown ink, a few pearls for inside your flowers and of course your wonderful ECD dies.

Step 1 – Trim your top sheet to 11 3/4 x 11 3/4 then using a pair of sharp scissors trim a bit of the top sheet in little bit so the bottom sheet will show more then using your distressing tool shred the edges a bit on both papers

Step 3 – Using the smallest shape in the fitted hexagons die set, cut 23 – 25 hexagons. Ink then distress the edges.

Step 4 – Using the Planner Essentials 8 cut one of the large tag and the title and ink and die and ink and distress

Step 5 – Using the stitched circles die cut the second largest circle the ink and distress the edges

Step 6 – Using planner essentials 11 cut one of the tags and 4 of the strips then ink and distress the edges

Step 7 – Cut the top layer of the butterfly flourish and ink the edges

Step 8 – Using the backside of one of the relaxing in garden papers or a piece of off white cardstock die cut 2 leafy branches, then trim them in half so you will now have 4 pieces and ink the edges

Step 9 – Using your left over pieces of paper and your favorite flower dies die cut your flowers – I used, bunch of flowers 3, large flower set, and small flower set. I cut three of each flower and layered each one but you can also just die cut one and leave your flowers flat.

Step 10 – Assemble and enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by

Weekly Planner Spread

May 22, 2019

Hello crafters! It is Luciana here, with a weekly planner spread that could be a sort of inspiration for those wishing to combine the planning system with that of journaling.

Here all the steps to recreate this weekly page:

Create the background on a paper using the distress ink pad broken china and shabby shutters.
Use the stamp with the letters from the set Planner Essential – Patterns 2 and the one with the flowers from the set Planner Essential – Patterns 1.
Create some layers of scrap paper using the following stamps:

  • the montly view from the set Planner Essential – Calendar
  • the box for records from the set Planner Essential – Months
  • the receipt stamp from the set Planner Essential – Important memo

Cut out the dies related to music and the circles pattern from the set Planner Essential 10.

Glue all the pieces on the page, like the picture below.

Cut the page in half, and use the left side for planning, adding the days of the week with the stamps from the set Planner Essential – Schedule.
Die cut 2 sets of box with the tab, from the set of dies Planner Filmstrip. Adhere inside of them two pictures of the important events of the week.

Adhere the first picture on the page, using a strip of tape. Then glue on it the second picture, in order to have a browsable insert.

Complete the page with a floral element, die cut 5 sets of the 2 flowers from the Die set – Large Flower Set.

Happy planning!

New Year, New Planner Ideas!

January 7, 2019

This is the perfect time to create some new pages in your planner and today, we’ve put together some planner inspiration from our Design Team!

Femke Kokke shared this fun mixed-media layout she made this last week for the new year. Adding inspirational quotes to your planner is a great way to start out the year, and the addition of her fold-over page is perfect for any style of planner!

Suzanne Cannon shows how versatile your planner can be by utilizing dies and stamps from her own collection! These beautiful pages can be used as title pages, separators, or your main layouts!

Katelyn Grosart: With it being the start of January it’s time for me to start planning the month. I’m loving the new Planner Essentials line, as its perfect for me to customize my planner pages. For planner project, I’ve created a weekly planner spread that will keep me on track of what I need to complete and allows me to add in things where needed.

Now that the holidays are over, Charlene Van Der Vorst shows us how it’s the perfect time to take some of your favorite moments and start making your holiday planner pages!

Karen Ostergard: I is am using my planner to help keep me on track to send out cards. This lay-out is for Valentine’s Day. The tags will be to keep track of the cards I’ve sent and to whom!

Wanda Hentges: I chose the words “be brave” and then created a chain that is broke at the bottom.  It can be hard to break away from bad habits or other things in our lives that are not good.  It takes courage and perseverance.  We need to be brave everyday and since it’s always today – Be Brave Today!!!

Our very own, Els van de Burgt has one planner just for her pens! The Color Chart stamp set is perfect for organizing your pens, inks, etc. into a color-reference book!
