Bold And Bright Save The Date Card

September 23, 2019

Hi friends! It’s EK, and today I am popping in to share a bold and bright ‘save the date’ invitation design.

So often I see an invitation or save the date cards and they are often created with pale or pastel tones and so serious. I thought it might be really fun to create a bold, bright, and fun ‘save the date’ card. And since I am using the ModaScrap Wedding Sentiments stamp set, creating this card will be so simple.

Step One: Trim a piece of 110lb Soft Finish Cardstock to 4.25×8.5 and score and fold to create a A2 card.

Step Two: Using the smallest circles from the Dashing Circles die set, die cut a series of circles out of bright colored Soft Finish Cardstock. I used Ladybug Red, Bright Orange, Sky Blue, Spring Green, and Perfect Purple Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Three: Create a frame for the card using two dies from the Dashing Rectangles die set. I used some Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock for my frame.

Step Four: Using the Wedding Sentiments stamp set, stamp images and a sentiment onto your die cut circles using some black ink.

Step Five: Adhere the black die cut frame to the card using some 3mm Double Sided Adhesive.

Step Six: Adhere the die cut circles onto the card frame, letting some of the circles dangle off the edge. Trim the bits hanging off the card so the circles become flush with the edge of the card.

Step Seven: Add some decorative drops to the card frame using a liquid drops. Did you see that ECD just add a brand new line of Craft Drops to their store? There are six new colors and I am so excited to play with these new craft drops!

I hope you got a kick seeing how I created this bold and bright save the date card. What I like about this design is I can change the stamp set and create a whole new card. Need a birthday card, this design will work. Need an anniversary card, this design could also work. And of course this fun, bright, bold design will be perfect for an anytime card!

Let us know in the comments below what your favorite color pallet is. Do you like bold and bright, pale or pastel, dark, jewel toned? Let us know because we are curious to hear!

ModaScrap Soft Finish Cardstock

Mr & Mrs Card

July 24, 2019

To create my card, I’ve used a variety of dies and patterned paper from ModaScrap. I hope you enjoy my tutorial!

Step one. Choose a piece of patterned paper from the ModaScrap Pink Cotton Candy Paper Pack. Die cut the 4″ Dashing Rectangle out of the patterned paper piece. Die cut the 4 1/2″ Dashing Rectangle out of the kraft cardstock piece. Ink the edges of both pieces with Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step two. Die cut the Lace Corner twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the Lace Corner twice out of kraft cardstock. Ink the edges of all four corners using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step three. Die cut the 2 3/4″ Dashing Circle out of kraft cardstock. From the Wedding Sentiments stamp set, you’ll need the connected hearts stamp. Apply VersaMark Ink to the heart stamp and stamp onto the circle. Reapply ink to the stamp and stamp again until the entire circle is covered. Ink the edges of the circle using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step four. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Mr & Mrs stamp and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fussy cut the Mr & Mrs out.

Step five. Choose another patterned paper piece out of Pink Cotton Candy Paper Pack. Die cut one of the hearts from the True Love die set out of the patterned paper. Ink the edges of the heart using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step six. Choose a third piece of patterned paper from the Pink Cotton Candy Paper Pack. Die cut the hearts from the Love, Life Tag out of the patterned paper three times. Ink the edges of the three hearts using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step seven. Adhere the 4″ Dashing Rectangle to the 4 1/2″ Dashing Rectangle.

Step eight. Adhere the white lace corner to the kraft lace corner, making sure a bit of the kraft lace corner is showing. Repeat the previous step for the other corner. Adhere one of the lace corners to the bottom right side of the rectangles. Adhere the other lace corner to the top left side of the rectangles.

Step nine. Foam square the dashing circle to the middle of the cardfront. Foam square the heart to the middle of the circle.

Step ten. Adhere the Mr & Mrs sentiment to the middle of the heart. Adhere the three hearts around the large heart. Cut a piece out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 5 3/4″ x 9″, score at 4 1/2″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Mr & Mrs Card.

How To Create This Happy Spring Card

April 24, 2019

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Happy Spring Card. Spring is definitely here on the west coast of Canada and has been providing a ton of inspiration for my projects these days.

To create this card, I’ve used dies and patterned paper from ModaScrap as well as a stamp set from Joset Designs. I hope that you enjoy my tutorial!

Step 1. From the Blue Cotton Candy Paper Pack, you’ll need the white flower kraft patterned paper. Die cut the 4″ Dashing Rectangle out of the patterned paper piece. Ink the edges of the paper using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 2. Die cut the 3 1/2″ Dashing Rectangle out of the White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Aquamarine and Jade Magenta Nuance lightly in the middle of the rectangle piece. Spritz the powder with water. Once the paper has dried, ink the edges of the paper using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 3. Die cut the 2 1/4″ Dashing Circle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Cottage Ivy Memento Ink to the branch stamp from the Wedding Sentiments stamp set and start stamping in the circle. Reapply ink the branch as many time as needed to complete a circle of branches.

Step 4. Apply Onyx Black Versafine Ink to the Happy Spring stamp from the Spring Sentiments stamp set and stamp in the center of the circle. Add a Transp.Glitter/Gold Dot in between each stamped branch in the circle. Ink the edges of the circle using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 5. From the Wood Effect Paper Pack, you’ll need to choose one of the wood patterned papers. Die cut the 2 3/4″ Dashing Circle out of the patterned paper piece. Ink the edges of the paper using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 6. Die cut the Lace card out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the Lace card down to 4″.

Step 7. Die cut the three Dragonflies out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Lightly sprinkle Jade and Aquamarine Magenta Nuance powder overtop of the dragonflies. Spritz the powder with water.

Step 8. Adhere the 3 1/2″ Dashing Rectangle piece to the 4″ Dashing Rectangle piece. Adhere the lace card element to the left hand side of the 4″ Dashing Rectangle.

Step 9. Adhere the Happy Spring circle to the wood circle. Foam square the wood circle 1 1/8″ from the left and 3/4″ from the top of the 4″ Dashing Rectangle.

Step 10. Adhere the dragonflies as desired around the Happy Spring circle. To finish off the card, cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 4″ x 10 1/2″, score at 5 1/4″. Adhere the card front to the card base.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Happy Spring Card.
