Notecard

Hello everyone, It’s Marjolijn here today on the blog with a cute notecard! With all the new releases that have come and still to come, we sometimes forget all those very nice dies and stamp sets that we already have. This week I made a notecard for a pocket on a page. I hope to inspire you a bit to use your dies in different ways. Often you don’t see the details because there is so much to see on a whole page. So for this blog post I created a notecard and will show you how I made it.

Super handy for some extra journaling and that photo can still be pasted in.

Make the notecard with the correct dies, there is a supply list at the bottom. Die-cut from soft finish cardstock and use the smooth side! Cut a 3″x4″ or 10×7.5cm blank card.

Stamp the stamps “notecard and the pin” on the front of the Polaroid frame (note-pieces). Sprinkle transparent embossing powder over it and heat it with the heat tool, then the stamp stays nice black and it gets some shine and volume. The other card gets the stamp with the lines, I didn’t emboss it.

Edit the Polaroid frame with distress ink and a stencil from the planner series (stencil set 2). I used the colors speckled egg and faded jeans.

The card with the note ribbons also got some distress ink speckled egg on the front. To do this, I angled the stencil. If you place a photo in it later you will not see it but for now I thought it was a nice effect. The side with the lines is decorated with speckled egg in the middle and the edges are finished with faded jeans.

The small arrow is also worked with faded jeans, the other parts with crackling campfire. But of course you can use your own matching colors for such a card.

The outer edges of the Polaroid frame were given a layer of double-sided tape 3mm. PAY ATTENTION! Do not glue the rest because then the mini tag will not go in.

Slide the arrow under the edge at the back. It is already secured with the tape. Then stick the card with the lines behind it so that the diamonds at the front are in the frame. Turn the card over and stick the second arrow over the other arrow. I worked with glue so that you can slide a little if it is not quite in the right place. Stick the camera in the right corner at the front, but in such a way that no glue gets on the opening. You slide the tag in loosely, you can later stamp a date on it or something similar.

So you can turn your dies into a nice notecard for your planner. I hope this gives you a little extra inspiration to look at your dies differently and especially to pick up your old sets because they are all so nice!!!

A Way With Words

A Note For You

Diana here! Today I’m sharing a blank note card that can be sent for any occasion or no occasion at all –– which is always a pleasant surprise. I combined several different word dies from Suzanne’s A Way With Words collection. It’s always a fun challenge for me to see how many ways I can combine what she has lettered.

1. I started with a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ sheet of cardstock completely sponged in Distress Oxide ink. I was going to use it as a background but then decided to die cut butterflies out of it instead.

2. I die cut 3 of the butterflies from the Butterfly Flourish set making sure that the cut butterfly’s colors would be symmetrical. It doesn’t have to be but I was feeling that it needed to be. 🙂

3. On a white card base, I used the same inks to create a splatter. Squish the ink pad onto an acrylic block and a wet brush to pick up the ink color and tap on a finger to add droplets.

Repeat this process for the colors used on the butterflies.

4. Die cut “a,” “Notes,” and “for you” from the various dies. I trimmed off the “s” on “Notes” by following the curve of the “e” and sanding down the edges to make it look smooth.

5. Adhere all the die cuts on the splattered card base. The card looked a bit unfinished so I used the Copic Multiliner Pen to draw a frame around the card. I didn’t bother making it perfectly straight (because we all know how that would turn out!) but I think a freehand box works well with the ink splatters.
