Hello everyone, Jackie here with today’s post.

I just want to say what an amazing design team we have here at Elizabeth Crafts Designs, I am constantly blown away by the talent of my fellow teamies. My post today has been inspired by the beautiful work from Tina Guigui Dornbaum and you can find the inspirational design here: Sending Hugs & Kisses Mini Slimline Card – Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Step One:

Attach a small light blue piece of scrap card to the top half of a top folding A2 card blank. Die cut a stitched rectangle panel slightly smaller than die cut a small circle in the top centre using a small circular die.

Step Two:

Die cut the daffodil’s into a pale yellow and green cardstock then ink around the edges to add some definition.

Step Three:

Attach the stitched panel to the card front using 3d foam pads. Fix the daffodils on top starting with the stems.

Step Four:

Stamp out the sentiment on black card using embossing ink then sprinkle with white embossing powder and set with a heat tool. Fix across the stems using more 3d foam pads then add a few clear gems to finish.

Flower Pot

Hello everyone, it’s Alice here. Hope you all had a wonderful Easter. I’m very much into Spring mood these day with the beautiful sun shining here in the Netherlands. I therefore decided to make a colorful card using some lovely flower dies and the gnomes! I hope you enjoy creating this card or some of the techniques I will show you in this post.

First I started with the flower pot. For this I first edited a piece of paper with Dylusions spray. I then used this paper to die cut the flower pot. I then embossed the pot using an embossing folder from Tim Holtz, see picture below. This gives a nice wood structure to your flower pot. I then sprayed the pot with embossing glaze. After that I used a distress crayon to make the darker spots on it.

Then I made the lovely gnomes. They are so cute! You can use them in a winter theme but also in a spring theme.

I made a girl and boy gnome. The colors on the gnomes I made this time with ZIG markers, they are watercolor pencils. Love them to color the different parts. They have beautiful colors with a lot of pigment in it.

On the top of the flower pot I made some lovely flowers with the Florals 7 set (#1843). I used 3 of the 5 sizes for this. I colored the flowers also with the ZIG markers. In the middle of the flowers I added some beads using Glossy Accents and let it dry.

In the background I made clouds with a mask and Distress Ink Oxide Tumbled Glass. I backed the card with some Modascrap paper in the same color theme as the flowers and the gnomes.

This was my creation for today. I hope I inspire you to make a card in this spring theme!

Elegant flower card

Hi everyone, it’s Marla back with another ECD card share. It’s so nice to finally be able celebrate wedding season properly. If you are like me and have several weddings to attend, the recently released “Florals 4” dies are just what you need to create spectacular wedding cards. The card I am sharing today will not only wow a bride and groom but can be used for many other celebrations. Let’s begin…

Step 1. Cut out your flowers and pistols using the “Florals 14” dies and white cardstock. Use a sponge dauber to apply color to your flowers on both the front and back side. I used “Dried Marigold” Distress Oxide and then added “Worn Lipstick”, making sure to leave white space toward the tips of the petals. Add depth with a coordinating-colored pencil to define the embossed line down the center of each petal and add shading toward the center. Then color your pistols, I used Distress Oxide in “Squeezed Lemonade.”

Step 2. Use a stylus to shape each flower layer. I spritzed the backsides of mine with water and gently depressed the end of each petal to help curl them under. Once the layers are shaped glue your flower layer as desired, making sure to offset the petals.

Step 4 Cut out the leaves using “Leaves and Branches” from vellum and white cardstock. Color the backs of a few of your vellum leaves. I used “Bundled Sage Distress Oxide” ink. Using wet glue, add ECD “Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter” to the leaves cut from white cardstock.

Step 5 Stamp and trim down a sentiment. I used a sentiment from the “For You” stamp set.

Step 6. Cut an ivory piece of cardstock to 8.5″ by 3.5″ and emboss with a slimline embossing folder. Use two slimline dies to create a frame and layer it on top of the embossed panel. Attach to an 8.75″ x 3.75″ side folding card base.

Step 7. Arrange and glue your flowers and leaves to your card panel.

Pigs and Flowers

Karen here today. Only here at Elizabeth Craft Designs can one find such amazing die sets when their tastes run from pigs to flowers! Today, I used the same basic sketch to make a card with each!

I love the Pig die set! How cute is this?! I also used a Stitched Circle Die and the Life is Better on the Farm Sentiment. In the background is a die cut of Leave the Doily!

On this one, I used the Florals 1 set, and I added some greenery with the Ferns set.

Spring is in the Air

Hi Everyone, It’s Els here and it is my turn again to give you some inspiration. I made a spring card, you can use it for many occasions. Below you will find the step by step instructions, I hope you will give this card a try………

This is the card I made for you today, I hope you like it so let’s make it…………………

Cut out 10 of the big flowers, 5 of the middle ones and 5 of the leaves and 1 fern.

Color them with Ink in the color you like, this is how I did it.

Spray the flowers lightly with water on the front and shape them with a shaping tool from the outside to the centre, then turn them and press in the centre.

Now Glue 2 of the flowers on top of eachother and place stamens in the centre.

For the background I used alcohol inks on Yupo paper.

Cut a base card at 81/2 – 81/2 and fold it in half, then take the background and cut it in 3 different sizes and glue them down with a little bit of space in between.

First put on some leave gold on the card, Color some Cheesecloth and place a piece on the card, then start to build your flower cluster, start with the fern and then first all the big flowers, later you fill it up with leaves and the other flowers.

Now place the leaves and the other flowers.

To Finish your card you can place a butterfly and some nuvodrops. I hope you will give this card a try, you can also use it for Birthdays, and Mothersday offcourse.

Welcome to your new home

Hello everyone, Els Schutte here with my first blog post on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog. I’m very excited to show you the card I made for today’s post. It’s a card that would be perfect for someone who just moved into their new home of with a slight modification just a card for any occasion. Let’s get started!

Cut Lacy Leaves, Florals 4, Ferns, and the Berry Branch out of the Soft Finish Cardstock, then colour them in soft pink and green Inks. Shape the flowers and leaves and glue the flowers together. Put some stamens in the centre and put laquer on the big knobs and pearl drops on the small Berry branch.

Cut a piece of Soft Finish Cardstock 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 and fold in half, this is your base card. Cut another piece of the same cardstock of 8 1/4 x 4 and put this piece on 3D foam blocks and place on top of your card. Cut the door with the die from the phone Booth set, use the parts from the window as bricks. Start with placing the leaves.

Cut the berry Branch apart and use them on different spots in the cluster. Use some green Ink to make a shadow on the bricks. Ad a string of pearls and bow and your card is done.

I Hope you will give this card a try, it’s a nice gift if you get new neighbours or someone gets a new Home.

Tis the Season

Hello Friends and welcome to the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog. It is Karan here sharing a Christmas card with you, designed with the new Blooms Collection and Florals 12 from Elizabeth Crafts. Along with a easy background tutorial you can easily do on your own.

I am in the mood for Christmas and wanted to create a few more Christmas Cards so I hope you enjoy this one.

I went into my EC stash and pulled out everything related to Christmas, to create this. I have a few steps here i can share with you on how i created this gorgeous card.

To begin with i used canson water color paper for my main background, smooshed some antique linen on my mat and pulled my background paper through that. (this measures 4 x 6 by the way) Stamping with CS146 as i felt it reminded me of the days of Christmas. I used Gold embossing powder form Nuvo and heat set that.

I inked around the edges with antique linen distress ink again just to add a bit of dimension. I added some splatters to the background using aged mahogony and the water brush woth the water color set.

I then set that aside to dry and got started on my blooms.

I stamped 6 of the poinsettia flowers from the Peace Bloom set. I wasn’t sure at this point how many I was going to use, I just knew I wanted to use them. I stamped with versa mark and then heat setting them with gold embossing powder. I then colored them with the water colors. As it turned out I only used two of these on my final project. I stamped the sentiment from CS101 – Classic Christmas Sentiments onto canson water color paper using black Archival Ink. I did the same smooshing technique to the sentiment as i did to my background.

Layering the main background with black, then gold mirri, red and craft to coordinate with the colors in the background. I added some florals using the florals 12 coloring with aged mahogany and adding stamens to the centers.

I wanted to use the blooms from the Peace set as the background layer and added my florals 12 on top of that both on the top and bottom of the sentiment block

I grabbed my favorite snow paste and just dabbed some of that around my card to give it that snowy look you see.

I added some colored seam binding and gold thread to tie this all together. I hope you have enjoyed my little step out tutorial today.

Paper Flowers

Good morning! Laura here today to share my newest layout for ECD using the wonderful new floral dies!

To create this layout:
Step 1 – Cover 2 12×12 sheet of Soft Finish Cardstock with gesso
Step 2 – Use your favorite ECD stencil and texture paste to create random areas for design I like the pattern Stencil pack allow to try or heat set on one sheet of paper
Step 3 – Color your background paper and the other sheet with two colors with the water color palette. Set the second sheet aside to die cut flowers and leaves later

Step 4 – Fussy cut 2 tags, and 4 flower clusters from the Reminiscence The Book 2

Step 5 – Die cut 2 Lacy Leaves from the second sheet
Step 6 – Die cut one Mandala and then cut in half

Step 7 – Die cut, ink and assemble 9 florals using coordinating paper, the second sheet that you colored and white cardstock

Step 8 – Add your title!

Cardmaking Fantasy Flowers Soft Finish Cardstock

Two-Color Flowers

Karen here today. I love playing with the florals, and today, I’m featuring a couple cards made with the first release that uses two colors for the flowers. So many fun options with these gorgeous flowers.

I had some of this gorgeous onion paper in my stash that I wanted to use in the backgrounds for these florals today. For this card I die-cut it with a Stitched Indented Rectangle Dies. For this card, I then added 1/2 of a Mandala die cut that I first added 101mm Double Sided Adhesive. I then added a sentiment from the Destination Phrases Stamps. I cut the stamped phrase using a Postage Stamp Square and then cut off the ends and top. The green polkadot paper was die cut with the fun hexagon shape in the Decorative Insert Dies from the Art Journal Collection. Next I colored and shaped the florals from the Florals 1 Dies die cut using 90 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock.

All of the ink I used for these florals was from Distress Ink. The flower base was first colored with Kitsch Flamingo and then I daubered the edges just slightly with Wilted Violet. I used my finger to add a smidge of Wilted Violet in the centers. For the small flowers, I added some Wilted Violet ink and water onto my craft glass and then just doused the flowers. For the leaves, I used Mowed Lawn and Wild Honey. From here, I spritzed the back of the paper before shaping as it really helps the flowers to hold their shape when dry.

For the next card, I started by adding some Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink through a stencil from the Pattern Stencil Pack to a piece of 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock. I first cut a piece of the onion-skin paper using the Winter Edges Dies. I adhered that to the Soft Finish Cardstock and then die cut with the Stitched Indented Rectangles Dies. I die cut the florals from the Florals 3 dies and colored the leaves with Distress Ink in Bundled Sage and Vintage Photo and the flowers with Broken China and Blueprint Sketch. The “heart leaves” is also from the Decorative Insert Dies from the Art Journal Collection. The sentiment, again from the Destination Phrases Stamps, was cut with the Diagonal Stitched Fishtail Dies. I added a piece of the Postage Stamp Square at the bottom that I colored with Broken China.
