Enjoy This Moment Planner Page

May 21, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Enjoy This Moment Planner Page.

To create my planner page, I’ve used a variety of the dies from the Planner Essentials Collection as well as dies from Joset Designs. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my page at home.

Step One. Die cut the ticket page from the Planner Essentials – 11 die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Spritz Dylusions Ink Spray in Rose Quartz, Pink Flamingo and Tangerine Dream on the page as desired. Spritz the ink with water and dab the excess ink spray off with a paper towel. Once the page has dried, ink the edges of the page using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Choose a piece of patterned paper. Die cut the large banner from the Planner Essentials – 3 die out of the paper. Ink the edges of the banner using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. From the Diagonal Stitched Fishtails, die cut the 3/4″ fishtail out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Cut the banner down to 2 3/4″. Ink the edges of the fishtail using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. From the Planner Essentials 14 – Bookmark 1 die, die cut the star reinforcements out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. You’ll need a total of four. Ink the edges of the reinforcements using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. Die cut two circle wreaths from the Planner Pocket – 2 out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Six. Die cut the small note piece from the Planner Essentials 21 – Note Pieces die out of the same piece of patterned paper you die cut the banner out of. Die cut the 1 1/2″ note piece out of another piece of patterned paper. Ink the edges of the note pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Seven. Choose two labels from the Planner Labels die. Die cut one label out of black cardstock. Die cut the other label from kraft cardstock. Cut one of the labels in half. Ink the edges of the kraft label using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Eight. Choose two of the patterns from the Planner Patterns die. Die cut one of the patterns out of black cardstock. Die cut the other pattern out of kraft cardstock.

Step Nine. From the Planner Filmstrip die, die cut the polaroid die with the tab out of a coordinating piece of patterned paper. Ink the edges of all of the pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Ten. From the Planner Essentials – 8 die, die cut the Enjoy This Moment words out of kraft cardstock. Die cut the heart out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the heart a second time out using the patterned paper you die cut the banner out of. Ink the edges of both hearts using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Eleven. Cut a piece of burlap that measures 1 1/2″ x 4″.

Step Twelve. Adhere the star reinforcements over top of the circles on the page. Adhere the kraft pattern piece 1″ from the top and 1 3/4″ from the right of the page.

Step Thirteen. Adhere one of the label halves 5/8″ from the top and 7/8″ from the right of the page. Adhere the small note piece 5/8″ from the right and 1 1/2″ from the bottom of the page. Adhere the burlap piece 7/8″ from the top and 1 1/4″ from the right of the page.

Step Fourteen. Use foam squares to adhere the kraft label 3/4″ from the right and 1 5/8″ from the top of the page. Adhere the 1 1/2″ note piece 3/4″ from the bottom and 1/4″ from the left of the page. Adhere the other half of the label 3/8″ from the bottom and 1/2″ from the left of the page. Adhere the other pattern piece 1″ from the top and 3/8″ from the left of the page.

Step Fifteen. Adhere the banner 1/8″ from the right and 2 1/4″ from the top fo the page. Adhere the two circle wreath as desired over top of one another to the middle of the pattern, note piece and part of the banner.

Step Sixteen. Staple the polaroid pieces together. Adhere the 3/4″ fishtail 1/8″ from the left side of the polaroid frame. Foam square the frame 1 1/4″ from the bottom and 1″ from the right of the page.

Step Seventeen. Adhere the hearts together, making sure the white part of the heart shows underneath the patterned paper heart. Adhere the heart overtop of the fishtail. Adhere the Enjoy This Moment words 1/4″ from the bottom of the polaroid frame. To finish the page, add a staple to the black label halves at the top and bottom of the page.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Enjoy This Moment Planner Page.

Beach life!

March 26, 2020

Good morning!
Laura with you today!
Over the Christmas holidays we were lucky enough to spend some time in Punt Cana and we had family photos taken – where else but on the beach of course!

I do not normally create blog posts with specific items but to create this layout you will need a few specific items
1 12×12 sheet of patterned paper and few pieces for die cutting and flower making (I used Ciao Bella Codex – Leonardo)
1 sheet of photo paper
4 – 5 colorant powders (I used Brusho in terracotta, turquoise, Prussian blue, yellow ochre, and Dark brown)
dies – favorite flower die (I used small flower die, bunch of flowers, large flower) your favorite circle die (I used stitched circles), stitched fishtails, and planner essentials 11
scraps of cardboard
ink and glue

To create this layout:
1 – take an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of photos paper and cut it in half. Spray with water then add your color powders and spray with water again. Continue adding powders and water until you are satisfied with the results then heat set with your heat gun

Step 2 – using your stitched fishtails and the colorful photo paper you just created, die cut your desired size of fishtails ( I used the second smallest). Die cut enough t fit across the page – I used 10 then ink the edges
Step 3 – using your favorite flower dies die cut, ink edges and assemble 8 flowers.
Step 4 – using your favorite circle die die cut 3 circles in sizes of your choice. Then cut into a spiral and ink the edges the roll into a flower

Step 5 – die cut one large circle in a silhouette, cut the center circle in half then ink both the silhouette circle and the two half circles.
Step 6 – die cut two torn ledger pieces (tear ends off to make them more grungy looking) and one of the the ledger pieces from planner essential 11
Step 7 – tear pieces of cardboard and ink the edges

Step 8 – ink the edges of your 12×2 paper
Step 9 – adhere everything together then add your title

Grungy Mixed-Media Layout

February 24, 2020

Good morning! Laura back again today to share my next layout for ECD!

I’d like to think I am a versatile scrapbooker –– I try creating in different styles to suit the mood, product or subject of the photo. Today I am sharing a grungy mixed-media layout I created!

To create this layout:

Step 1 – tear three pieces of cardboard from whatever box you have laying around. One should be about 3×6, another a small strip about 6″ long and another strip around 5″ long. This is a grungy layout so no need to really measure –– just tear off pieces the size you like.
Step 2 – cover your background paper and your cardboard with clear gesso and let dry or dry with a heat gun then distress the edges.
Step 3 – adhere your paper to a piece of heavy cardstock or cardboard to help with the warping.

Step 4 – using your favorite stamps, stamp randomly around the page using embossing ink, then use a coordinating color of embossing powder. I used the chicken wire stamp from the Background Stamp 1 set and white embossing powder.
Step 5 – in sections, use your favorite stencil and light paste to create texture and visual interest.
Step 6 – using your favorite mists and colorant powders, color your page and the cardboard. dry with heat gun.

Step 7 – using a palette and palette knife add a bit of Silk Microfine Glitter and your light paste. Create how ever many colors of glitter paste you wish.
I used royal teal and chocolate.
Step 8 – using your palette knife spread your glitter paste over the cardboard and the stenciled areas of your page.
Step 9 – die cut 6 various sizes of fitted fishtails and distress the edges.
Step 10 – die cut 3 – 1 3/4″ stitched circles and distress the edges.
Step 11 – die cut one edge from the planner essentials 11 and distress the edges.

Typically, I do not like taking photos in direct sun but to share the glittery but grungy effect of the glitter paste, I took a couple below.

And here is the finished layout once again. I think the glitter paste looks really awesome!

You Are Adorable

September 18, 2019

Good morning! Laura here with you today to show you a layout I created for Els of her grandson –– he is adorable!

To create this layout:

I used various papers: ModaScrap’s Wood Effect Paper for the background and Blue Cotton Candy for the accent pieces and title piece.

Step 1 – Using your accent papers Die cut – 2 stitched circles – your choice of size and cut one in half, a stitched fishtail with accent paper  and one using the card paper of the blue cotton candy to create your title, kaleidoscope background, the tag part of the planner essentials 11, the largest die in Planner Essentials 8, the heart from Love Struck, a border from Valentines Edges,  the circle and tree from the Love Life Tag  and two stitched rectangles.

Step 2 – apply a double sided adhesive sheet to a piece of Soft Finish cardstock and die cut the following – 2 edges from the Valentines Edges, a circle from the Love Life Tag, and a banner set from the celebration flags.  Peel off one backing and apply midnight blue silk microfine glitter from the Beach Palette set. Rub the pieces with your fingers to bring out the sparkle

Step 3 – Assemble as shown

A Masculine Distressed Layout

July 31, 2019

Good morning!
I am a proud mom of two boys and therefor have created many masculine layouts.
There are so many awesome die from Elizabeth Craft including the new planner essentials dies and stamps that are perfect when creating those manly layouts!

To create this layout:

Step 1: after choosing your main sheet ink the outside edge then cover both sides of your paper with clear gesso and allow to dry or use your heat gun to dry. *covering both sides helps to cut down on warping that you may get when you use mixed media products.

Step 2: taking your planner essentials patterns 2 stamp, stamp the flowery looking stamp with brown ink at 1 inch from the left edge of the paper. then towards the top at about 5 inches from the left, then slightly higher at 6 inches, then closer to the bottom at 9 inches and again at 10 inches lower than the one at 9 inches. Allow to dry or set with your heat gun.

Step 3: taking a coordinating color of mist, use a paint brush to highlight these stamped images.

Step 4: mix another coordinating color of powder colorant (i.e. magicals) with embossing paste and using a palette knife apply beside and an top of stamped images and set with heat gun.

Step 5: die cut each of the following using coordinating papers:

Ink the edges of all the die cuts.

Step 6: assemble as shown.
