Today Tag

August 31, 2021

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Today Tag.

To create my Today Tag, I’ve used a variety of the brand new dies from the Planner Essentials Collection. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my tag at home.

Step One. Choose a piece of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence the book. Cut the paper down to 3″ x 4″.

Step Two. Next, you’ll need the Planner Essentials 42 – Shapes, Frames & Words die. Die cut the plain tag and the more rounded butterfly out of a piece of black cardstock.

Step Three. Choose a piece of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence the Book. From the Planner Essentials 42- Shapes, Frames & Words die, die cut the banner with a circle in the middle out of the patterned paper piece. Ink the edges of the banner using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. From the Planner Essentials 40 – Number Border & Patterns die, you’ll need the weave border strip and the numbers tag. Die cut the weave border strip out of a piece of kraft cardstock and cut down to 4″. Choose a piece of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence the Book. Die cut the number tag out of the patterned paper piece. Ink the edges of both pieces using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. Now you’ll need the Planner Essentials 43 – Circle Words Die. Die cut the stitched circle out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Choose a piece of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence the Book. Die cut the today circle out of the patterned paper piece. Ink the edges of the stitched circle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Six. Adhere the black tag to the 3″ x 4″ patterned paper piece. Trim around the black tag if needed. Ink the edges of the adhered tag using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Seven. Adhere the number tag 7/8″ from the left and 1/4″ from the bottom of the tag. Adhere the banner 5/8″ from the left and 3/4″ from the top of the tag. Adhere the weave border to the left hand side of the tag.

Step Eight. Foam square the butterfly to the middle of the tag as desired.

Step Nine. Adhere the today word to the stitched circle. Foam square the stitched circle to the bottom right corner of the tag as desired.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Today Tag at home.
