Joset Designs Soft Finish Cardstock Stamping

Personalized Pencil Box

March 21, 2021

Hello friends – it’s Sandy Diller here with a cute project that the kids are going to love going to school with. While shopping at the Dollar Tree a few days ago I came upon these cute pencil boxes so picked up two. I decorated them with some special students in mind.

These pencil boxes were so easy to decorate using the Joset Designs Once Upon A Time Collection and then simply adding the names with a label maker.

Any child would love to have this personalized pencil box to take to school or just keep at home in their room.

I began by cutting out the Castle Folding card and adding some stamping and coloring.

Next – using White Soft Finish Cardstock to cut out the Prince and Princess and then added the colors I wanted. You could use any coloring medium you may have in your art supplies.

After cutting up the Castle into sections that would fit on the box, I added some colorful flags and roof pieces.

After adding the Castle to the box, the Prince and Princess were added.

I love making cards but really enjoy making items with my dies that are fun and useful – I hope you will give it a try.

Have a great and creative day,

Sandy

Picture This

February 21, 2021
It’s Sandy Diller here today with a fun little photo frame that is perfect for any child’s room where they can change the photo whenever they like. They can use it to display their favorite photos weather they are real or imaginary.

Begin by using the Castle Folding Card, cutting out the main part with the window section twice. Cut one down the center as shown above.

Line up the sections of the castle and glue together. Stamp some bricks using the stamp from the Prince & Frog Sentiments. Add some color, I used Watering Can Archival Ink and a blending brush.

Back the windows with the color of your choice, assemble the Prince and Princess and then add the photo frame from the Planner Essentials 3.

Crease the castle on each side, shown with the red arrows above.

When adding the backing for the frame – leave an open space just above the word PHOTO, shown with the white arrow above. This way the photos can be easily changed by sliding them into the opening.

For the base, simply cover a piece of chipboard with paper. In the photo above you will see that I marked where I wanted to place my castle and frame.

To make the frame stand up – cut 2 strips of cardstock 1″ X 5″ and crease ever inch. Fold on the creases and then glue together to form a box. Glue box at each end of the castle and then glue to base at an angle. This will keep the castle from falling over. Another piece of cardstock was added to the center section to help hold in place.

All that is left is to add the photo of your choice. A little crown was added to the photo just for fun.

Have a Royal Day,

Sandy

Have A Magical Day

August 16, 2020

Hello friends and welcome, it’s Sandy Diller, today I have a magical card with an added bonus. I’m using the new Storybook collection from Joset. This new release is filled with whimsical characters that make you believe in magic.

The prince and princess stand as separate characters so when you display this fun card you can use your imagination and place them anywhere you like.

To make the castle – cut the Castle Folding Card twice and glue them together as shown below.

White Soft Finish Cardstock was used here and then some gray ink for shading, stenciling and stamping with the bricks from the Prince and Frog Sentiments. The window openings in the die were covered with gold paper from the back.

Brightly colored papers were used to add a whimsical look to this castle.

The stone facing for the door was made by using the included die and shading them with gray ink. The same die was used to add some windows on the the sections that needed them. The door opening was backed with a piece of vellum.

The castle was folded at each crease in different directions to make it stand up. The finishing touches for the castle were the glittered flags.

The Princess and Prince were assembled and then added to a separate stand that was made by using White Soft Finish card stock cut 5.5″ by 3″ and scored at 1.5″ and 4″, folded back to make them stand up. The paper was stenciled using an older stencil from my stash but you could use any paper that has stones or brick pattern. Using some dies from the Once Upon a Time Accessories die set I added a flower and then stamped and colored the frog from the Prince and Frog Sentiments.

My card still needs a sentiment so when I’m ready to send this card I will stamp it with one of the great sentiments from the Once Upon A Time Sentiments. This card folds up completely flat for mailing.

Have A Magical Day,

Sandy
