Quick and Easy December Day by Day Page Tips

December 3, 2020
Hello again, Annette Green here today with some helpful tips to make a December Day by Day album quickly and easily with some great new products from Elizabeth Craft Designs. My video below takes you through all the details.
As I describe in the video, Esther’s new paper collection is the key to making impressive and beautiful pages. These came together quickly and easily and make it look like so much more layered work than it actually was.

**Please note in the video that I incorrectly named the Sidekick Essentials die for the blank page. It should’ve been Sidekick Essentials 4 rather than 7. (Clearly, I have mixed up my die pieces!)**

Happy Greenville Residents Planner Pages

July 8, 2020
Hello again everyone, it’s Annette Green here today to share some recent pages in my Greenville planner. We’ve been living here in Greenville, South Carolina a few weeks now, and it’s been great fun documenting our journey. I’ll show you how I created these pages using the new Reminiscence cardstock collection (a true favorite of mine) along with some other “found” materials.
With just a few sheets from the Reminiscence collection, a brochure of Greenville, a few paper bags from one of our favorite little stops along the Swamp Rabbit Trail, my photos and of course the fabulous Planner Essentials and Sidekick Essentials dies, I created my pages quickly and easily.
I started with my base page using the Planner Essentials 2 die and the collaged green page from the Reminiscence cardstock. I folded the smaller paper bag to my desired size, then reinforced the back with a piece from the larger paper bag. I added different reinforcements to the holes of each, then die-cut the tabs shown on the right.
After attaching the tabs to both sides of the bag, I stitched around the perimeter with black thread in my sewing machine. This is a great way to add a bit of outline and interest to a page. If you don’t sew, you can always hand-draw some stitching. I fussy-cut the other pieces shown from the collection, stitching on some of them. Finally, I fussy-cut a sunflower and added it to my paper bag.
Next I started laying my photo frames and other elements around the pages to get an idea of placement and balance. The frames shown here are from the new Sidekick Essentials 1 & 8.
Once I’m happy with placement, I print my photos and start adhering elements down. At this point, I can see where I need something more – like another fussy-cut sunflower in the lower right corner, for example.
Sometimes there’s not a lot of room left for journaling…
A great solution for this is to journal right in your photo editing software like I’ve done here with my caption for this bike photo.
I needed to add one more page to hold this great brochure/map of Greenville (I loved the fun illustration on the cover, and the colors coordinate with my theme nicely) so I created a see-through pocket using the Planner Essentials 22 Pocket 4 die (top loading) and lined it with a piece of vellum. For some smaller photos, I die-cut three frames from Planner Essentials 4.
Pocket-style dies provide more room for additional photos, journaling and memorabilia.
My pages are complete and ready to add to my Greenville Planner!
Thanks for stopping by today to check out my latest Greenville planner pages. There’s more to come next month as I continue on my journey. Below is the list and links to the products I’ve used today, in addition to the Reminiscence cardstock collection.
