December Day-By-Day Page Ideas!

November 28, 2019

It’s Esther here. December 1st is just a few days away, which means it’s almost time to start your daily #DecemberDBD journaling! (You can learn more about the December Day-By-Day Challenge here.)

Today, I’m here to share some ideas and tips for your #DecemberDBD journal. I recommend trying to add pictures to your pages each day –– from “normal” things like doing the dishes or groceries, and a full/empty fridge. It really doesn’t matter what you take pictures of –– everything you do on a single day is fine. It’s more about documenting each day, whether it’s work, sports, watching tv, cooking diner, babysitting, laundry, etc.

If you find yourself lacking inspiration on a certain day, here’s a list of some themes/ideas that might help:

  • Photo of your craft desk/room
  • Buy yourself a treat/something you really like to eat and try to make a stunning picture of it to use in your journal
  • Your favorite (Christmas) song
  • Decorating your tree
  • A black & white picture
  • Write a letter to Santa and hide it in your journal
  • Take pictures of December decorations in your area, or go to a garden centre or decorated shop to take pictures.
  • Wrapping presents
  • Create a tag
  • Your favorite (feel-good) movie
  • A selfie
  • Your pets or birds and other animals in the garden
  • Donate $5 to charity
  • Your favorite Facebook group ?
  • Christmas cards you are sending and/or receiving
  • Your front door or house
  • A recipe
  • Hot chocolate or a good cup of tea/coffee
  • Your dream house
  • Shopping list
  • Children/Grandchildren
  • Family tradition(s)
  • PJ’s all day –– staycation
  • Cleaning a closet or a room
  • The sky/the weather today
  • The kitchen
  • Work moment
  • What makes you happy?
  • Make a page with paint or watercolor
  • News: What’s happening right now –– local or worldwide
  • New Years wishes

If you are planning to journal through the full month of December (1–31st) to review the past year, you can also add things like: the best thing that happened last year, the saddest thing that happened last year, milestones, etc.

For our Dutch members there is also Sinterklaas on December 5th –– a great subject for your December-Day-By-Day journal/ planner!

I hope this helps give you a little bit of inspiration as we get ready to document our December! Don’t forget to join us on the ECD Planner Page on Facebook to see other crafters’ planner pages, and to share pictures of your own!

Happy Planning!

October 20, 2019

Who else is excited for the upcoming holiday season? Sure, there’s the stress of cooking, and gift-giving… but that also means that there are more opportunities to craft! (And we couldn’t be more excited!)

With the help of our amazing Design Team, we’ve put together a list of Thanksgiving projects you’ll definitely want to make this year. Take a look below, and be sure to tell us in the comments which one you’ll be making!

EK Gorman

What I’m thankful for: I am thankful for all my family and friends that I get to share Thanksgiving with this year.

Karen Ostergard

What I’m thankful for: my family

These pages are all ready to go for my Thanksgiving pictures!

Tanja Kabel

What I’m thankful for: I am thankful for the love and support of my family.

Katelyn Grosart

What I’m thankful for: I’m thankful for having a supportive Fiance who supports through everything, even if my ideas and choices are a bit crazy.

Suzanne Cannon

What I’m thankful for: I’m thankful for all the little things in life that are sometimes overlooked.

Laura Gilhuly

What I’m thankful for: The aspect of my life that I am most thankful for is my family.

We are a really close family and we help each other through good and bad.  We had a rough year with Jon’s health and every day I am thankful for him to be here and our boys that showed their loving and caring and strong demeanor that helped us both. I am thankful for the laughter we share, the lessons we have learned, the moments we have and the life we have built together.

Diana Nguyen

What I’m thankful for:  I am thankful to be part of such a wonderful team of crafters!

Sandy Diller

What I’m thankful for: I am thankful for family and friends.

If you would like to see how this was made, please come back to the ECD Blog on Thursday October 24 for a complete tutorial and more photos!

Everyday Life Planner

October 2, 2019

Good morning Crafters, today it is Luciana here, with a new planner spread. I love using the planning system to keep memories and picture and little pieces of my everyday life.

Step 1. create a background page. Use some watercolor as base, and the stamps from the set Pure Spring and the set Patterns 2. Create a texture on the page using the die from the set Planner Patterns and some stripes of washi tapes. Add the hole reinforcers from the set Planner Essentials – 7.

Step 2. Stamp on the White Soft Finish Cardstock the 3 labels from the set Retro Labels, then the sentiments “hello everyday life” from the set Retro Labels Sayings and “for the record” from the set Family. In the empty label I added the name of the baby.

Step 3. Add some embellishments.
Die cut from the White Soft Finish Cardstock:
2 set of Garden Notes – Frosty Fern
2 set of Garden Notes – Eucalyptus Frosty Fern
2 set of labels from the set Planner Essentials – 11

Els van de Burgt Studio ModaScrap Planner Essentials Scrapbooking Silk Microfine Glitter Soft Finish Cardstock

You Are Adorable

September 18, 2019

Good morning! Laura here with you today to show you a layout I created for Els of her grandson –– he is adorable!

To create this layout:

I used various papers: ModaScrap’s Wood Effect Paper for the background and Blue Cotton Candy for the accent pieces and title piece.

Step 1 – Using your accent papers Die cut – 2 stitched circles – your choice of size and cut one in half, a stitched fishtail with accent paper  and one using the card paper of the blue cotton candy to create your title, kaleidoscope background, the tag part of the planner essentials 11, the largest die in Planner Essentials 8, the heart from Love Struck, a border from Valentines Edges,  the circle and tree from the Love Life Tag  and two stitched rectangles.

Step 2 – apply a double sided adhesive sheet to a piece of Soft Finish cardstock and die cut the following – 2 edges from the Valentines Edges, a circle from the Love Life Tag, and a banner set from the celebration flags.  Peel off one backing and apply midnight blue silk microfine glitter from the Beach Palette set. Rub the pieces with your fingers to bring out the sparkle

Step 3 – Assemble as shown
