Garden Journal Tag

May 20, 2021

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Garden Journal Tag.

To create my Garden Journal Tag, I’ve used a variety of the dies from the Planner Essentials Collection as well as a variety of stamps and dies from the Sidekick Essentials Collection. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my tag at home.

Step One. From the Planner Essentials 30 – Wave Pocket die, die cut the 3″ tag out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Next, you’ll need the flower from the Sidekick Essentials – In My Garden stamp set. Apply Emboss It Ink to the flower stamp and stamp onto the tag. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed and stamp on the tag until the entire tag has flowers on it. Ink the edges of the tag using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Choose two pieces of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence the Book. From the Sidekick Essentials 16 – Seed Packet Set, you’ll need the torn edge and letters/numbers. Die cut the torn edge die from one of the patterned papers. Die cut the letters/numbers die out of the other piece of patterned paper. Cut the torn edge down to 1″ wide. Cut the letters/numbers die cut down to 3″ x 1 1/2″. Ink the edges of both pieces using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. From the Sidekick Essentials 12 – Scallop Insert Die, you’ll need the macrame hanger. Die cut the macrame hanger out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Trim the hanger down to 3 7/8″.

Step Four. Choose a piece of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence the Book. From the Sidekick Essentials 11 – This Week Fold Out Page, you’ll need the circle. Die cut the circle die out of the patterned paper. Cut the circle in half. Ink the edges of the circle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. Choose another piece of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence the Book. From the Sidekick Essentials 5 die, you’ll need the & symbol. Die cut the & symbol from the patterned paper.

Step Six. From the Sidekick Essentials – Home & Nature Stamp Set, you’ll need the Garden Journal Stamp. Apply Forest Moss Distress Ink to the Garden Journal stamp and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fussy cut the label out. Ink the edges of the label using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Seven. From the Sidekick Essentials – Planted With Love Stamp Set, you’ll need the 3 for stamp. Apply Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to the stamp and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Reapply ink to the stamp and stamp onto the same piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fussy cut the two stamped images out. Ink the edges of both images using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Eight. From the Sidekick Essentials – In My Garden Stamp Set, you’ll need the bee stamp. Apply Dried Marigold Distress Ink to the stamp and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fussy cut the bee hexagon out. Ink the edges of the hexagon using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Nine. Adhere the torn edge piece to the left hand side of the numbers/letters piece, showing about 1/2″ Adhere one of the 3 for labels to the top left side of the torn edge as desired. Foam square the torn edge and letters/numbers piece to the bottom right hand side of the tag.

Step Ten. Adhere one of the circle halves to the bottom portion of the torn edge piece as desired. Adhere the macrame hanger 1/2″ from the right and all the way to the top of the tag.

Step Eleven. Adhere the other half of the circle 3/8″ from the bottom of the tag and slightly overtop of the macrame hanger. Adhere the other 3 for label 1/2″ from the right and 1 3/4″ from the top of the tag. Adhere the & symbol 1/4″ from the bottom and 1/8″ from the right of the tag.

Step Twelve. Adhere the Garden Journal Label 1/2″ from the bottom and 3/8″ from the left of the tag. Foam square the bee hexagon 5/8″ from the bottom and 1/8″ from the right of the tag.

Step Thirteen. Tie a piece of White Twine through the top of the tag.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Garden Journal Tag at home.
