Sadie’s Page

June 16, 2021

Karen here today. I’ve started a NEW Sidekick Planner to journal a somewhat new relationship. Today’s post is about my guy’s sweet dog. (Yes, I’m dog-obsessed!) Sadie is an almost 80 lb pittie mix, black with some white paws and other markings. I used / modified the Dog die to add a fun embellishment for Sadie’s page.

I used the Sidekick Essentials 1 for a base, and I used the gorgeous Rainbow of Happiness Paper. To that, I added a strip of black denim ribbon. Then I used a couple sizes of the Fitted Circles Dies. On the top die, I used that FuN sentiment from the Pieces of Life 4 – Retro Stamps. On the bottom circle, I put an ADORABLE picture of Sadie. On the top of her picture, I added a heartbeat die from Sidekick Essentials 1. So sweet. The letters are from Planner Essentials 23. And, of course, I had to add some reinforcements. These little circles are from the Reinforcement Variety Pack 1.

How fun is the back of this page!? I kept the back pretty simple with a strip of several pictures of the adorable Sadie and a wee bit of journaling. I also added the little hearts from the Sidekick Essentials 2 set.

For the Dog die, I wanted to create a black dog with some white marks and white paws. (The white is 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock!) I cut 8 of the “legs” – 4 in black and 4 in white. I fussy cut just the tips of the white ones to make white paws. I also used one of the white spots to create a white chest for the adorable dog. And some google eyes! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by today!

Craftily yours, Karen

Prepping photos for your planner pages

June 3, 2021
Hello again everyone, it’s Annette Green here today with some more planner pages and some tips on how to size and print your photos to fit your needs in your planner. I’ve created a video sharing how I accomplish this on my home computer, with a little “Craft With Me” as I work on my recent two pages, so I hope you take a moment to check that out.

I’ve been enjoying catching up in my planner from back in February when we had our one and only snow day here in Greenville, South Carolina. I’ve incorporated lots of blues from Reminiscence The Book 1 to match the color and feel of my photos and had some fun with the Washi Tape No. 1 set. A waterfall of photos helps to maximize the space for other embellishment. (You may notice a few dies that haven’t yet been released, so we won’t talk about those just yet. wink-wink)

On the next spread, I’ve featured a hiking weekend in the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina. I’ve mixed several Planner Essentials and Sidekick Essentials dies in these pages, as I explain in the video, along with the Paper Love stamp set for the journaling block. This is quickly becoming my go-to stamp set!

To maximize the space for more photos and journaling, a pocket with an insert is a great solution. I do this a lot in my planner. In the video, I explain why I make the choices I do when laying out my pages, and I share how to get your photos the exact size you need. It’s really easier than you might think, so I hope you take a look. Thanks for popping in today. Have a great day!

I am here for you

May 26, 2021

Hii All! It’s me again, Lisanne! This time I want to share a card who has to cheer up my dad. It is a small project, but small isn’t always bad!

A while ago I made a planner page with the Sidekick Essentials 13 (hexagon insert). All the little hexagons that fell out I safed in a box for using it later. This was the time to using is haha. So I glued some hexagons on my base, which is dies 1698. There are a lot of different sizes squares in it.

The whole background is paper from the Reminiscene Book 2. You can see I made three spots with hexagons in different sizes. These hexagons made me think about some honeycomb. So I made the Honey Bear (1727) with ofcourse honey.

Let’s take a closer look to the Honey Bear. I used the Soft Finish Cardstock so I can colour the bear with Distress Ink. You can choose to give the bear a bow or not. The bow is an accessories which I add later because at the end I missed some extra colour. This bow gives that colour I think. I made some highlights with some pens.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is I-am-here-for-you-8-969x1024.png

After the bear I want to make a beehive. So I dies the honey jar and turn this upside down. I put a little cord behind the hive and knotted this at the branch. This branch is a part of the tree from the Safari Colleciton.I really love this look! Ofcourse there are some bees at the hive.

At least I made a banner with the build your own sentiments stamp (cs139) and put this whole card at a brown card.

I hope I gave you some inspiration with this card. Thanks for taking a look at this post! And hopefully I see you soon!

Kind regards Lisanne

Sometimes we all need…a little magic

May 14, 2021

Wouldn’t you like that, too? A little magic, or help in the household? Well, I do. But with a good schedule it also saves a lot of time and energy. This time I adapted to what I can do and distributed the work throughout the day and the week. This way I also have energy left over for my hobby.

I love Esther’s beautiful paper so I went to work with the Reminiscence the book 2.

I made the basics with Planner Essentials 4. The edges got a lick of distress ink but I didn’t do anything about it. With Sidekick Essentials 8, I made a pocket that could hold a mini-book. I adhered it at the edges so there’s another ticket behind it. On the left corner I used another stamp from the CS134 Retro labels set. Below that, I made a trifold page with the Puzzle page from the new Art Journal collection. I only adhered it to the edges. He’s dressed with a “note for myself.” But first coffee! For that I used the dies from the Sidekick Essentials 4. Next to it I used a stamp from the fountain pen CS216 art journal chick that refers like an arrow to the coffee cup. I colored the pen using the watercolor palette.

In the pocket I made a mini-booklet with a page for every day. The days of the week I made with the Sidekick Essentials 3 set and for the tags I used Planner Essentials 26. For the narrow one I cut of a little trip on both sides. On the small tag I adhered Mary Poppins and on the big tag Bert. These ones are from a set called “the park” by Tim Holtz.

Mary Poppins stands for magic for me and Bert for a little help if necessary. I wrote the text with a stencil….no, my handwriting is really not that beautiful!!! The minibook received a stamp from the CS130 Bullet Journaling 3 set on each page.

The page is finished with reinforcements from Planner Essentials set 22. For the strip of arrows I used Planner essentials 14.

Now I have to fill everything in but I’m sure you’re not interested in my household schedule hihi. Otherwise…… I’d love to hear it. Honestly, this fröbelen was much more fun than that household but secretly I enjoy it enormously when my house is nice and clean. Maybe I should look for a little “Magic” or a help in the household?

Hope you find a little bit of magic for your household and a little inspiration by my page.

With love,

Marjolijn.

The Good Life – Seed Packet Mini Album

March 22, 2021

Hello Friends and welcome! It is Karan here to share a project I designed using the new Sidekick Release. For those who know how much I love albums, I also love to create mini albums too.

This one is designed using the Seed Packet Die from Sidekick Essentials 16.

To begin with I cut the seed pack out five times using paper from 49 and Market. I cut vellum to go on the inside of the packet for the window. I cut out extras thinking I might make the album larger but ended up going with 5 packets instead of 8.

Then I assembled them.

I then cut the side panel from the same sidekick set and created the pages and continued to decorate them. I love tags and cut out a tag for each page just as an added layer and photo mat for some of my photos. This tag was cut from Planner Essentials 2, which I also cut to go inside each opening of the Seed Packet page. I am going to share images from this little mini and then add the dies I used below. Hope you enjoy this mini project.

And then details for the cover:

I cut doubles for the large floral and the medium size floral for the cover, two sets of leaves and then I used the skeleton leaf from the Sidekick Essential 16 set. Ii love how the florals shape so beautifully.

I hope that I inspired you to create a mini album using this Seed Pocket Set. It makes a perfect little mini album.

Until Next time

Happy Scrapping!

2021 Planner Making Basics and Tips Video

March 3, 2021
Hello again everyone, it’s Annette Green here today with brand new pages in a brand new planner for 2021. I’ve been getting a lot of requests to create a video for beginners at planner making, so I’ve created one with that purpose in mind. Even if you’re an experienced planner maker, you may find some of my process interesting.
My video takes you from learning about the different size planners, the differences between Planner Essentials and Sidekick Essentials dies, learning about paper thickness, how to begin your first few pages, and other tips like how I print my photos. It’s a “Craft With Me” style video, so I hope you take a moment to watch the process. I’ve listed all the supplies below that I’ve talked about in the video.

Final Greenville Planner Pages with video tour

February 3, 2021

Hello everyone, Annette Green here today with my final pages in my Greenville Planner which I’ve been sharing throughout 2020. I ended this planner/journal with some Fall pages, at which time my planner was filled to the brim. I decided it was a good place to stop, especially since I started a new planner in December for my Day-by-Day memories. (You can check that December DBD video out HERE if you like.)

As you can see, I’ve introduced the Phone Booth Special die set into my planner. I hope you follow along as I share how my pages came together. All products used for this final layout are shown at the end of this post.
I began by die-cutting my paper from the Rusty Weathered collection using the Planner Essentials 1 page die. From the Reminiscence paper collection, I fussy-cut three sunflowers and adhered them around the page. From the Reinforcement Pack 2, I die cut the leaf shapes and adhered them in place.
Next I used the tag die from Planner Essentials 4 to cut my photos, then matted around them with a deep red card stock. The tag shapes gives a little more interest than a simple rectangle. Finally, I stamped the list from the CS119 Reminders stamp set onto ivory card stock, colored in the arrow and inked the outer edges before adhering in place.
For the facing page, I cut the same paper using the Planner Essentials 4 page die, added the same leaf-shaped reinforcers and fussy cut one more sunflower. The large circles and scalloped circles were die-cut from the Pizza Box set and the “heart this” is die-cut from Planner Essentials 30 Wave Pocket die set which are then adhered to a stamped label from the CS133 Retro Labels stamp set.
After stamping the journaling block using the Sidekick 1 stamp set, I added my photos. If you’re curious how to cut circles from your photos, check out the video tour below.
Since I had more photos to feature, I decided to add the cute Phone Booth as an insert. What a fun die set to play with! I added the word Fall using the letters from the Butterfly Pocket Insert set and the pumpkins and leaves from Joset’s Pumpkins set, and all other elements are from the Phone Booth set.
The door to the Phone Booth opens out to this fun area for more photos and journaling. I used the Planner Filmstrip set to cut two photo frames for the right side of this page.
Small photos fit nicely inside here, and it’s a great place for a little hidden journaling.
For the back side of my Phone Booth insert I added more fun elements from the die set, as well as the photo mat/tag from the Wave Pocket set I used earlier, and of course one more fussy-cut sunflower and the leaf reinforcements.
Once I added my last photo, I finished off this page by stamping the word “Happy” from the Sidekick 1 stamp set. And my pages are done, my Greenville Planner is done, and I’m moving on to my 2021 planner and Nature Notebook Planner which you’ll see in future posts. If you’d like to check out my video tour of my entire Greenville Planner, I’ve provided it below. Thanks so much for stopping in today!

Sidekick Planner Page

January 3, 2021

Hello everyone,

Here I am again, in a new year with new opportunities. First of all, I want to wish everyone a fantastic 2021 because we all deserved it! Let’s look out for each other and the world a little bit more and be nice to each other.

And now my pages for the first week of this new year.

This is a double page for in my sidekick planner. This year I want to use it as kind of agenda/planner. I can then incorporate the special memories into my large planner. For these pages I used paper from Reminiscence The Book.

Meanwhile there are already a lot of nice die sets of which I have used several. At the bottom of this post I will post a list of the products used. But first….. Coffee!!! 😉

I already placed all my appointments for this week in my planner. Enough time to play with my planner and stuff this week ?

I used the super fun road sign here for the days of the week.

The sidekick planner is perhaps my favorite. Wonderfully handy and you can still incorporate a lot into it.

It was super fun to work on this again,

See you next time,

Marjolijn.
