Something Special Is Happening Card

May 1, 2021

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Something Special Is Happening Card.

To create my Something Special Is Happening Card, I’ve used a variety of dies and stamps from Suzanne Cannon as well as dies from Joset Designs. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my card at home.

Step One. You’ll need to choose two pieces of coordinating patterned paper. Die cut a 4″ Fitted Indented Square out of one of the patterned papers. Die cut a 3 1/2″ Fitted Indented Square out of the other patterned paper. Ink the edges of both squares using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Choose one more coordinating patterned paper. Die cut a 3 1/4″ Stitched Indented Rectangle out of the third patterned paper. Die cut a 2 1/4″ out of the second patterned paper. Ink the edges of both squares using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. Die cut a 3 3/4″ Stitched Indented Square out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink the edges of the square using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. From the Flourished Frame die, you’ll need the flourish. Die cut the flourish out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Five. From the Little Ones die, you’ll need all of the pieces for the stroller. Die cut the stroller out of a piece of Silver Grey Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the stroller accessories out of a fourth piece of coordinating patterned paper.

Step Six. From the Please Join Us Stamp, you’ll need the Something Special sentiment. Apply Detail Black Ink to the sentiment and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the sentiment into three strips. Ink the edges of each strip using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Seven. Adhere the 3 3/4″ square to the 4″ square. Adhere the 3 1/2″ square to the 3 3/4″ square.

Step Eight. Foam square the 3 1/4″ square to the 3 1/2″ square. Foam square the 2 1/4″ square to the middle of the 3 1/4″ square.

Step Nine. Adhere the flourish to the middle of the 2 1/4″ square.

Step Ten. Adhere the accessories for the stroller to the stroller.

Step Eleven. Adhere the stroller to the middle of the 2 1/4″ square.

Step Twelve. Adhere the three strips to the bottom right side of the 3 1/4″ and 2 1/4″ squares as desired.

Step Thirteen. Cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 4″ x 8, score at 4″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Something Special Is Happening Card.

Katelyn

I Melt for Cocoa

November 19, 2018

Hey Friends!  It’s EK from ekgorman designs and I am sneaking in to share not one but two marshmallow cards featuring the new Marshmallow Snowmen stamp set.  In our house, all winter long hot chocolate rules, according to both of my girls, and the only acceptable way to drink it is with giant marshmallows floating on the top.  Needless to say, while this stamp set was not created with my daughters in mind, according to them, it was.  So in tribute to them, here are two marshmallow cocoa cards for my two marshmallows girls.
