Sweet ‘n Scary Interactive Mini Slimline Card

August 22, 2022

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Yes you are seeing Halloween items in the stores. No it’s not your imagination. However the Monster Release came just in time for Halloween. I used the Monster 2, Halloween Accessories along with the Pull Tab dies to create my Interactive Sweet ‘n Scary Card. Below you will find the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 7″ x 6″, score at 3 1/2″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Diecut Slimline Adventure Edges (clouds) using White Cardstock to use as a stencil. Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 3 1/2″ x 6″. Place the diecut on the cardstock and using a Blending Brush apply ink of your choice. Repeat this step until you reach the bottom of the cardstock. I used Distress Oxide Villainous Potion.

Step 3 – Diecut Pull Tab using White Cardstock except for the rectangular hole piece, you will need to diecut that piece using the panel created in Step 2. Follow the score lines and assemble the pieces. Once everything is assembled adhere the panel to the card front using 3mm Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 4 – Diecut Monster 2 using White Soft Finish Cardstock (ink the cardstock using orange ink. I used Distress Oxide Spiced Marmalade – except for teeth and eyes). For shading I used Distress Oxide Ripe Persimmon and Candied Apple for the warts. Assemble and adhere to the 2 tabs sticking out using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 5 – Diecut Party Accessories using coloured Cardstock (purple for hat, yellow for buckle, black for strip and bats, brown for broom stick). Assemble and adhere to card using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 6 – Diecut Slimlime Adventure Edges (grass) using Green Cardstock. Stamp Monster Hugs sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Adhere to card using Foam Tape.

Joset Designs Planner Essentials

In The Jungle

June 17, 2022

Karen here. I’m creating a Planner Essentials book of my guy’s dog as a present to him. Sadie! She absolutely loves going through long walks and wanders through the tall grass trying to find critters to chase. I thought I’d use the Slimline Adventure Edges to create grass on the edge of my planner page!

I created the page by cutting a Planner Essentials 4 die using beige cardstock. I then put the Slimline Adventure Edges (Grass) and cut the edge. I also cut the edge from a pretty green cardstock that i had and trimmed it up close. I added the green die cuts to the edges on both sides of the planner pages.

I love how it came out. I also added with embellishment die cuts from the Floral Insert and Flower Power. I used a multiliner pen to outline the flowers. The letters are from the Planner Essentials 23. Cutting the letters and flowers with 101mm Double Sided Adhesive is so helpful in ensuring that these items with such thin lines are easy to adhere.

The back of the beige cardstock was dark grey. I love how the pretty purples and greens pop on this side including the fun reinforcements from the Reinforcement Variety Packs 1 and 2.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Craftily yours, Karen

Tis the Season

November 19, 2021

Hello friends, it’s Sandy Diller here with you today. I have a fun card using the adorable new Gnomes. I just can’t get enough of them. Today the Gnomes are busy decorating the trees for Christmas Day. Sometimes things just don’t seem to go the way we plan and we get all tangled up.

This is a 5″ X 7″ easel card so I began by cutting my Soft Finish Cardstock 7″ X 10″ with a crease in the center and then another crease at 2.5″ to make it an easel. A decretive strip was added to the bottom edge of the card. I used Christmas lights since I was planning to have my Gnomes all tangled in lights.

The decorative strip will end up on the inside of the card as shown here.

Using the Dotted Background die – it was inked and added to the top front of the card. Next came the snow bank using the Slimline Adventure Edges.

An additional snow bank was created and creased 1/2″ from the top and added to the bottom panel. When the card is opened the snow bank will hold the front panel in position.

Now it’s time to have some Gnome fun! The little guy shown above was assembled as usual but then creased so he would appear to be sitting in the snow. Because he has to fit inside the card when it is closed it was necessary to fold his little hat to fit. Then Christmas lights were added using the lights found in the new Train Carts die set.

This Gnome buddy was assembled using the new Gnomes die set. This set has so many possibilities for making the Gnomes doing different activities. In this one I put the arms out holding the string of lights. This set also includes the bulbs that you see in the final card. So much fun!!

To finish this card off I got out some trees for the Gnomes to decorate. The extra strings of lights were created using the strings for the balloon set.

Thank you so much for stopping by – I will see you soon,

Sandy
