Christmas In July Card

July 5, 2022

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. It’s Christmas In July and I wanted to share a Snow Globe Shaker Card using the Snow Globe and Village Edges Dies. Below you will find the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8” x 6”, score at 4” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (in between an A2 and Mini Slimline card)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 3 3/8” x 4 6/8”. Apply Ink of your choice using 3 tones of Purple Blue using a Blender Brush. I used water reactive inks so I could splash some water to create some texture to my background. For added interest splash some White Gouache mixed with a little water. Let Dry.

Step 3 – Diecut Snow Globe using White Soft Cardstock. Place it on the background created in Step 3 to cut out the domed shape on top. I marked it with a pencil using the outer edge and trimmed off about 1mm inside the pencil line. Adhere to the background to the card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. Put the Snow Globe frame aside from now.

Step 4 – Diecut Village Edges using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Trim to 3 3/8” length and adhere to the bottom of the background using Kid’s Choice Glue. I diecut 2 layers. I kept the diecut windows and doors intact. Optional – diecut the Trees in colors of your choice. I used Teal Cardstock.

Step 5 – Adhere Acetate Sheet on the bottom side of the Snow Globe frame using Glue of your choice. Let dry. Add thin Foam Tape to the backside frame. Trim the edges overhanging. Add Sequins of your choice to the top of the card front to the center. I used Purple Sequins and Silver Stars. Remove the release sheet from the Foam Tape and carefully secure it to the card front.

Step 6 – Diecut Snow Globe (bottom) 3 times. Stamp Holiday Sparkle sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink to the center. Attach each layer leaving the sentiment on top and adhere to the underneath of the Snow Globe using Foam Tape.

There is no such thing as making Holiday cards too early. We are already in July. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Winter Wishes Snowman card

January 7, 2021

Hello and Happy New Year 2021! It´s Sanna here again with my January project share. I wanted to create a winter themed greeting card for this month and used the cute Jack Frost die by Joset with Planner Essentials Christmas Figures tree die to create the winter scene.

Here are the steps to the card:

Step 1: Die cut a strip of white paper with Adventure Edges to create a DIY stencil from paper. Use it to ink the background could pattern onto a white card base.
Step 2: Apply a Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet onto a piece of white Soft Finish Cardstock and die cut the tree from Planner Essentials 34 Christmas Figures die set. Make sure the adhesive is on the backside when die cutting the whole tree, but pointing towards you when die cutting the filigrane tree die piece. You will need the adhesive on top of be able to add glitter later.
Step 3: Now die cut the Snowflake from white Soft Finish Cardstock (also add an adhesive sheet on the back here too for easier adhering). Also die cut a few snowflakes using the Snow Globe die set, but this time again make sure the adhesive is on top.

Step 4: Using Distress Inks, apply color to the tree and the snowman parts. I used tones: Gathered Twigs, Old Paper, Black Soot, Evergreen Bough, Salty Ocean and Spiced Marmalade.
Step 5: Apply Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter onto the filigrane tree piece as well as the snowflakes.

Step 6: Adhere the green inked tree onto the card base and attach the filigrane, glittered tree piece on top. Now build the snowman together and adhere all pieces on place.
Step 7: Now use the For You stamp set by Sue Smith in combination with Joset´s Winter Sentiments to create the sentiment: “Winter Wishes” and stamp that onto the bottom of the card with black stamp ink. Apply the glittered snowflakes onto the background and the card is done.

I´ve again recorded a start-to-finish video for you to watch. I hope it gives you an even better idea on each and every step of this card.

I hope you enjoy this little card tutorial and get inspired to create fun wintery cards yourself! Wishing you all a nice January!!

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna

Snowman Shaker Globe Card

November 19, 2020

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. I am super excited to share a Shaker Card using the new winter release from Joset Designs. I absolutely love the new additions. I used Jack Frost Dies and Snow Globe dies. Below you will find the steps to create your own Snowman Shaker Globe Card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score at 4 1/4” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim Patterned Paper to 5 1/2” x 4 1/4” and adhere to card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. (I used ModaScrap 6×6 Unconventional Xmas).

Step 3 – Diecut Snow Globe (frame) 2 times using Fun Foam and 1 time using Glitter Cardstock. Use the frame to trim out a window in acetate and a piece using Patterned Paper. Adhere the trimmed Patterned Paper using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape and the 2 layers of Fun Foam diecuts using Kid’s Choice Glue. Add Sequins or Sprinkles to the middle and secure it with the trimmed Acetate window using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. Adhere the Glitter diecut to the top using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 4 – Diecut Jack Frost in various colors of Cardstock. Assemble and adhere to card using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 5 – Diecut Snow Globe (bottom base) using Blue Cardstock. Stamp Joyful Wishes Sentiment on the Snow Globe diecut using Versamark. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder and remove the excess. Heat set it with a Heat Tool and adhere to card using Foam Tape.

This was very quick and easy to put together and it almost feels like having the real deal. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
