A Mug Full of Warm Christmas Magic!

November 8, 2022

Hello all, Katie here thank you for joining me with todays blog post! I always love winter for hot chocolate, coffee or some yummy beverage to keep myself warm as we are getting very cold here in Alberta, Canada! So grab a cup of hot coffee and lets get started!

Step 1: Start with cutting out your images form Jack Frost and Warm Winter Mug from your favorite Cardstock. Next I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink (Oops I just noticed my holly was flipped upside down for the picture) and assemble your pieces.

Step 2: Out of the new Nested Tags Set cut out two of the largest tags, I used my scoring tool and created a crease at the top, this will create the fold to make this into a card base. Next, I used a 3D embossing folder to create a pattern on my tag, then I lightly inked it with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.

Step 3: Assemble your card as per the picture above, I pop dotted the mug on top of the snowman.

Step 4: After I have assembled my card front I attached the back of the card to the card front and folded slightly at the score line.

Step 5: My favorite part is speckling the card front with Heavy White paint.

Thank you for joining me today, I hope my post brought you some inspiration!

Happy crafting all and stay warm! till next time >Katie<

Pop-up Shaker Snowman Card!

August 8, 2022

Hi friends, thank you for joining me today with this super cute pop-up shaker card. Its so hard to capture all the glitter on this card with a photograph so I am hoping you make your own so you can see how amazing this glitter that Els uses all the time really is. So lets get started!

Step 1: Attach a piece of your adhesive sheet to your heavy weight cardstock (Keep the backing onto your adhesive sheet as this is where you will add your glitter) cut your card front to 4 3/4 x 5 1/4, next with your adhesive side facing up , take your large snowflake die from the Art Journal Christmas Special and cut out the snowflake from the center of your page.

Step 2: Peel off the adhesive backing so your front card base is sticky and add your glitter, you will be surprised how little it takes to cover your page. Tap off the extra glitter, then attach a piece of acetate to the back of your front base covering your snowflake.

Step 3: Next, add some foam tape to all four sides of the back of my snowflake page closing the gaps so none of my shaker bits come out, I removed three side of my foam tape and placed it on top my card base that measures 5 x 5 1/2, next I filled my shaker bits through the space where the adhesive is still attached to the foam tape, once I have enough bits I removed the backing and sealed my shaker card. (Please see picture above)

Step 4: Cutting the base of the card, Take a heavy white cardstock and cut your card base 5 1/2 x 11 and score along the 11″ side at 5 1/2 and 2 3/4 and fold up your score lines as per picture above.

Step 5: Next attach your snowflake shaker to the bottom part of your folded card, this creates an easel style card.

Step 6: Out of your favorite cardstock cut out Jack frost from Joset’s collection, once you have assembled and inked your snowman, speckle with heavy body white paint.

Step 7: Attached your snowman using pop dot to the top of the card base, I also added a few jewels.

Step 8: I added a greeting from Classic Christmas Sentiments #CS101 and I cut out a few snowflakes from the Classic Christmas Collection kit and glittered my snowflakes. Next I pop dotted my greeting this creates a lip for your easel card.

I hope you enjoyed todays blog post and I am hoping you will join in and create a special glitter Christmas Card!

Have a wonderful day and Happy Crafting!
