Spooky!

October 24, 2021

Hello and Welcome! One of my favourite reason why I love playing with dies (especially background dies) is how versatile they can be. Here I’m using the Spider Web Slimline Background die angled to create an A6 card. I’m using heaps of colour to contrast it against the black spiders and the angle of the card draws you into the spiders! Here’s how I made it…

Card Instructions:

Step 1: Adhere clear double sided adhesive to the back of several coloured pieces of card stock.

Step 2: Die cut the slimline die, repeat this for the remaining coloured pieces of card stock.

TIP: To avoid wastage think of other layouts that you could use the remaining die cuts for. As you are die cutting the slimline die 5-6 times, there is potential to create many more cards!

Step 3: Remove the adhesive backing and adhere the outline of the web to an A6 card front. Next, use the negative die cuts from the other pieces of paper, remove the adhesive backing, and adhere these in place as shown in the image below.

TIP: Adhering clear double sided adhesive to the back of each card stock before die cutting, save you time (and glue)!

Step 4: Continue to do this until all the negative space has been filled. Trim any excess over lapping card stock.

Step 5: Die cute 5x spiders. Adhere clear jewelry thread (15cm long) to the back of two spiders, add a foam dot, and then adhere another spider to hide the thread on the spider.

Step 6: Take the thread and adhere it to the back of your card front as shown below. Next adhere your card front to an A6 card base.

Step 7: Stamp the sentiment, die cut and adhere to the card front. Embellish the card, with enamel dots and adhere the last spider to the card front.

As you can see below the very spooky spiders can dangle making this a very simple interactive card perfect for Halloween or anyone who loves creepy crawlies!

Happy Crafting!

Sorry I’ve Been A Little Witchy

October 18, 2021

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. With Halloween around the corner and I have my last card to share using the new Witch die and a fun tutorial on how to create a moon effect. Below is the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 7” x 6”, score at 3 1/2” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Trim Watercolor Paper to 3 1/2” x 6”. Diecut Fitted Circles using Masking Paper. Apply the circle mask in the upper right hand corner. Apply Distress Oxide Ink in Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. Remove the mask and spray with water. You will see the ink start to spread on the circle to create a moon effect. Let dry then adhere to card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 3 – Diecut Witch using various colors of Cardstock. Assemble using Kid’s Choice Glue and adhere to card using foam Tape.

Step 4 – Diecut Spider Web Slimline using Black Cardstock to the spiders. Use a gel pen and and eyes. Adhere to card using Foam Tape.

Step 5 – Stamp Autumn Words using Versafine on White Soft Finish Cardstock. Diecut Fitted Fishtails to the sentiment. Adhere to card using Foam Tape.

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial on how to create a moon. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
