You Have my Heart

February 3, 2022

Hello Friends, welcome back, it is Karan Gerber on the blog today to share my first project for February. With Valentines coming soon, I had an idea to create a mini album from the Heart Shaped Dies.

I used Florals 4 on the Cover, coloring them with Picked Raspberry and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks. Here are some details of the mini album I created.

I created a shaker box on the front cover using acetate under that fist paper layer and then adding two layers of foam tape. The side of it actually looks like one of those heart shaped candy boxes you see.

Inside front cover and first page. Here I used Planner Filmstrip (1656) and die cut the smaller frames from that set and die cut a heart. The sentiments are from the paper pack.
To get the pages to work in an album, I die cut the page connector from Sidekick Essentials 16 and attached it to the back of each of the pages.

For page 2 and 3 I used Planner Essentials 3 and cut down the photo frame to suit the size of the page. The tag is from Planner Essentials 4 which I basically used as an insert here.

Page 3 and reverse of the tag. Here I used Planner Essentials 2 adding some rubons to the slide in die for the tags.

For page 4 and 5 I used the Planner Film Strip.

Page 6 and 7 which are the last pages of this cute little mini album. I used some heart die cuts, the filmstrip as well as the die cut “You” from Sidekick Essentials 2.

It was a fun little project to do, and I hope you give these heart dies a try to create your own little mini album.

Happy Valentines & Happy Scrapping!

Until Next time!

Karan

February Planner Page

February 6, 2019

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my February Planner Page. For the start of each month, I love creating a planner title page that either reflects an occasion that happens in that month or a season. To create my February Planner Page, I’ve used dies from the Planner Essentials collection and Els van de Burgt Studio. I hope that you enjoy my tutorial!

Step 1. On a scrap piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock, use a blending tool with foam to blend Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and Candied Apple Distress Ink on the cardstock. Die cut the small Entwined Hearts die twice out of the Worn Lipstick side of the cardstock. Die cut the small Entwined Hearts die twice out of the Candied Apple side of the cardstock. Ink the edges of all the hearts using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 2. From the Blackboard Alphabet die, die cut the F, E, B and dot out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Candied Apple Distress Ink over the letters and dot. Ink the edges of the letters and dot using a Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 3. Choose two pieces of patterned paper from the ModaScrap – Simply Love Paper Pack. Die cut the large Entwined Heart out of one of the patterned papers. Die cut the medium Entwined Heart out of the other patterned paper. Ink the edges of the hearts using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 4. Die cut the 3 1/4″ Stitched Heart out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink the edges of the heart using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 5. From one of the patterned papers you already used, die cut the 1 1/8″ Stitched Fishtail Banner out of the paper. Place the notched side of the stitched fishtail banner on the other side of the patterned paper to create a notch on the other size. The banner will end up measuring 4 3/4″ long. Ink the edges of the banner using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 6. Choose another piece of patterned paper from the ModaScrap – Simply Love Paper Pack. Die cut the planner page from the Planner Essentials – 1 die out of the patterned paper. Apply Potting Soil Archival Ink to the February Calendar stamp and stamp onto the tab of the page. Apply Potting Soil Archival Ink to the bubble stamp from the Patterns 2 Stamp Set and stamp onto the page. Reapply ink to the bubble stamp and stamp again on the page. You’ll need to repeat this step three more times onto the page.

Step 7. With a piece of foam square, adhere the banner to the middle of the page. Then, adhere the stitched heart to the middle of the banner.

Step 8. Adhere the large entwined heart over top of the stitched heart. Adhere the medium entwined heart to the middle of the stitched heart.

Step 9. Adhere the ‘FEB.’ to the middle of the stitched heart. Adhere the small hearts randomly around the hearts on the planner page. To finish off the page, add white lines to the bubbles where the other lines are.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my February Planner Page.

A Valentine’s Day Card Using the Bachelor Button!

February 7, 2018

Hi It’s Kelly Booth here,

I often like to create my own backgrounds for projects and was reminded recently of a technique I did several years ago to marble ink on cardstock.  I decided it would be a pretty background for my Valentine’s Day card using several Elizabeth Craft Designs dies along with the new Bachelor Button by Susan Tierney-Cockburn.  I love that bachelor buttons can be found in nature in so many beautiful colors.

November 30, 2017

Hello to all! This is Anita here today.

Belated Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends at Elizabeth Craft Designs!!! I hope you had super fun shopping for your craft goodies at the ECD store on Black Friday, and maybe my project will entice you to do a bit more…

I had awesome fun creating cards with the recently release Abstract Background. There are many creative ways that you can use this die and I want to share some of the ways now. (You can use them in your own way and I would love to see what you create with them, so if you’re not already part of the Elizabeth Craft Designs Facebook Family, please join in.)

Here is my take for using one background die in three ways.

Sewing with Die Cuts – Heart Ornament Sachets

Sewing with Die Cuts - Heart Ornament Sachets

by Joan Frantzen

Happy Mother’s Day! And thanks for the opportunity to be a Guest Designer again on this blog. To honor all the moms, grandmothers, sisters, and daughters out there, I offer another idea for using dies with fabric. This one features new heart dies used to cut various sized hearts that can serve as appliqués or patterns (another quilter’s trick!). Simply fill them with fiberfill as ornaments with a pop of spring color, or include lavender or potpourri inside for a scented sachet. They’re great “thinking of you” gifts for all the special women in your life!
