Peace, Balance, Happiness Card

November 17, 2019

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Peace, Balance, Happiness Card.

I have been loving creating with Joset’s new release and I hope that my card inspires you to use her new dies on your next project. You’ll want to read below as I have a tutorial for you on how to recreate my card at home!

Step One. Die cut the 4 3/4″ Stitched Indented Square out of a piece of asian inspired patterned paper. Ink the edges of the square using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Die cut the 4 1/4″ Stitched Indented Square out of Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Three. Die cut the Symbol Background out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Fired Brick Distress Ink over the entire surface of the symbol. Ink the edges of the symbol using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. Die cut all three of the Bamboo out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Tea Dye Distress Ink over the entire surface of each bamboo.

Step Five. Apply Emboss It Ink to the Peace, Balance and Happiness Sentiments from the Zen Sentiments stamp set and stamp onto a piece of Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powder over each word. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Once the sentiments have cooled, cut each word into a strip.

Step Six. Adhere the 4 1/4″ Stitched Indented Square to the 4 3/4″ Stitched Indented Square.

Step Seven. Adhere the Symbol Background to the middle of the 4 1/4″ Stitched Indented Square.

Step Eight. Use foam squares to adhere the three bamboo pieces to the middle of the symbol background.

Step Nine. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the Peace, Balance and Happiness sentiment strips to the middle of the bamboo as desired.

Step Ten. Cut a carbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 4 3/4″ x 9 1/2″, score at 4 3/4″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Peace, Balance, Happiness Card.

August 31, 2019

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my cute birthday notecard perfect to give to that special someone on their birthday. To create my card, I’ve used some stamps and coordinating dies from Krista Schneider as well as dies from Joset Designs and Els van de Burgt Studio and patterned paper from ModaScrap. I hope you enjoy my tutorial!

Step One. Take the light pink patterned paper out of the Thinking About…Grand Canyon Paper pack. Die cut the 4 3/4″ Stitched Indented Square out of the patterned paper. Distress the edges of the square. Ink the edges of the square using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Choose a coordinating patterned paper from the Butterfly Dream Patterned Paper that will work with the light pink patterned paper. Die cut the 4 1/4″ Stitched Indented Square out of the patterned paper. Distress the edges of the square. Ink the edges of the square using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. Die cut the 3″ Stitched Circle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the circle down to 2 3/4″. Distress the edges of the circles. Ink the edges of the circle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. You’ll need three presents and the Just For You sentiment off of the Gift Wrapped Stamp Set. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to each of the presents as well as the Just for You sentiment and stamp each stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Use Tombow Markers: 815, 772, 676 and 847 as well as a watercolour brush to colour the presents. Use the Gift Wrapped dies to die cut the presents and Just For You sentiment out. Ink the edges of the presents and sentiment using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. Adhere the 4 1/4″ Stitched Indented Square to the 4 3/4″ Stitched Indented Square. Adhere the Stitched Circle to the right hand side of the 4 1/4″ Stitched Indented Square.

Step Six. Use foam squares to adhere the presents and sentiments to the circle as desired.

Step Seven. Cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 5″ x 10″, score at 5″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Just For You Notecard.
