Hi Everyone, It’s Tina here. Today I am sharing a card using the Cherry Blossom Branch and Parrot dies along with the Fitted and Stitched Rounded Rectangles die. Below is the steps to create your own Hugs & Kisses Card.
Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score at 4 1/4” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)
Step 2 – Diecut Fitted Rounded Rectangles using Solid Patterned Paper. Adhere to card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.
Step 3 – Diecut Stitched Rounded Rectangles using a Leaf Patterned Paper. Adhere to card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.
Step 4 – Stamp Bear Hugs Sentiment using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink in the upper left corner.
Step 5 – Diecut Cherry Blossom Branch using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Colour in the pieces in any medium of your choice. I used inks with a blender brush. Assemble the Branch and adhere to card using Foam Tape. (Tip: Did you know the small Cherry Blossom die (new bud) can be used as a leaf) That is what I used behind the Cherry Blossoms.
Step 6 – Diecut Parrot using Coloured Cardstock. Assemble and adhere the parrot to the card. I used a wobble to have some dimension and movement to the parrot.
This card can be used for many occasions by simply changing the sentiment. Below you will find a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my We Are Stronger Together Wall Hanging.
To create my We Are Stronger Together Wall Hanging, I’ve used a variety of dies, stamps and stencils from the Art Journal Specials Collection as well as a couple of dies from Joset Designs. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my wall hanging at home.
Step One. Die cut a 4″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Place the Spring Flower Mandala Stencil on the left hand side of the rectangle. Use a palette knife and put Texture Paste Opaque Matte through the stencil. Remove the stencil. Allow the stenciled image to dry. Once the image is dry, spray Distress Spray Stain in Cracked Pistachio and Wilted Violet over the stenciled image. Once dry, ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Two. From a piece of book page, die cut a 4 1/2″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle Die. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Three. Die cut a 1 1/2″ Diagonal Stitched Fishtail out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut a 1 1/8″ Diagonal Stitched Fishtail out of Book page. Ink the edges of both fishtails out of Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Four. From the Budding Florals die, die cut the single bud out of black cardstock.
Step Five. From the Blooming Branches die, die cut the heart branch out of a piece of book page.
Step Six. Die cut the the lamp standard from the Streetlights die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the lamp standard. Sprinkle Boho Blends – Wrought Iron Embossing Powder over the entire surface of the lamp standard. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.
Step Seven. Die cut the the Bubbles from the Bubbles die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the Bubbles. Sprinkle Peppered Chantilly Embossing Powder over the entire surface of the bubbles. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.
Step Eight. From the Budding Florals die. Die cut the bud strip out of kraft cardstock.
Step Nine. Die cut the left hand side of the Ornate Gateway out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the gate. Sprinkle Hammered Metal Embossing Powder over the entire surface of the gate. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.
Step Ten. Choose one of the girls from the Floral Girls stamp set. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the girl stamp and stamp onto a piece of watercolor paper. Colour the girl in using the Watercolor Palette. Once the image has dried, fussy cut the girl out. Ink the edges of the girl using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Eleven. Apply Emboss It Ink to the We Are stamp from the Words & Layers stamp and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the stronger together words from the same stamp set and stamp onto the same piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Boho Blends – Wrought Iron Embossing Powder over the We Are and stronger together words. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Fussy cut the We Are out and cut the stronger together into a strip. Ink the edges of the We Are and strip using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step Twelve. Adhere the 4″ stitched rounded rectangle to the 4 1/2″ stitched rounded rectangle.
Step Thirteen. Adhere the 1 1/2″ fishtail 1/4″ from the left and 1/4″ from the bottom of the 4″ rectangle. Adhere the 1 1/8″ fishtail 3/4″ from the left and 1/2″ from the bottom of the 4″ rectangle. Adhere the bubbles die cut 1/8″ from the left and 1/4″ from the bottom of the 4″ rectangle.
Step Fourteen. Adhere the gate overtop of the bubbles and fishtails. Foam square the bud strip to the middle of the gate. Adhere the light standard and single bud as desired to the middle of the bud strip.
Step Fifteen. Foam square the girl 1″ from the right and 1/2″ from the bottom of the 4″ rectangle. Use foam squares to adhere the We Are words 1″ from the bottom of the 4″ rectangle and close to the girl. Adhere the stronger together word strip 3/8″ from the right and 3/4″ from the bottom of the 4″ rectangle.
Step Sixteen. To finish the wall hanging, punch two holes at the top of the 4″ rectangle. Tie a piece of twine through the top of each hole.
Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my We Are Stronger Together Wall Hanging.

Hey friends! It’s EK and I am popping in today to show you how easily you can manipulate your favorite stamps to use all year long. Every since the Halloween Party Stamp set was released by designer Charlene, I have been absolutely in love with the kitty stamp. It is hands down one of the cutest cats around. However, his little bat wings make him limited in how often you can use him. However, I am sharing today, that with a little creative stamping you can use this cutie all year long!
Step One: Trim a piece of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock to 4.25×5.5 inches. Using a stamping platform add you cat stamp from Halloween Party and ink it up. Then before stamping, wipe the ink from the kitty’s wings. You can use any type of ink for this stamping technique. I used Fadeout ink so I could do a little no line coloring.
Step Two: Using alcohol ink color the image in. I used copic markers.
It is hard to believe that this sweet little image once had little bat wings set on the body.
Step Three: Using the Fitted Rounded Rectangle die set, die cut out the stamped image. Using two of the dies from the Stitched Rounded Rectangle die set, die cut a board that is about the size of the card frame.
Step Four: Using the Fitted Rounded Rectangle die set, die cut a piece of printed paper the size of the opening in the die cut boarder.
Step Five: Using 6mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, add the die cut boarder to an A2 Card frame. Using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, add the printed paper and the stamped image, making both of center.
Step Six: Stamp a sentiment from the Journaling Elements stamp set in black ink.
I hope you find it helpful to see how to manipulate your stamps to use them in new and interesting ways. It is super easy and gives all your stamps a new and versatile way of using them.
Hey Friends! It’s EK, and last week I discovered how gorgeous coloring on Soft Finish Cardstock is with colored pencils, so today I thought I would play around with some stamps that are simply meant to be colored with this medium. I can not be more impressed with how stunning Charlene’s stamps look colored in with my pencils.
Step One: Trim a piece of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock to 4.25×5.5 inches. Stamp the sweet gal from the Make a Wish stamp set into the center of the paper. Stamp the image again onto some masking paper (I used post-it note paper). Trim out the image on the masking paper and add it to the stamped image
Step Two: With the making paper in place, stamp other images from the stamp set over the sweet gal multiple times.
Here is what the cardstock looks like with the masking paper still in place.
Here is what the image looks like after the masking paper is lifited.
Step Three: Color in the image with your colored pencils.
Step Four: Trim a piece of True Green Soft Finish Cardstock to 4.25×5.5 and added it to an A2 cardframe with some 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.
Step Five: Die cut the focal image with one of the Stitched Rounded Rectangle die sets and adhere it to the True Green Soft Finish Cardstock.
What do you think of this medium on Soft Finish Cardstock? Have you experiment with colored pencils on your projects? Let us know in the comments below. Until then, happy crafting!
We can all use a little sunshine in our lives right now. It’s Sandy Diller here with you today. I just received my ECD Watercolors in the mail and had to use them right away. I am not a watercolor artist by any stretch of the imagination, I’m a crafter. That being said, I had lots of fun creating this card and love how bright and sunny it is.
There are some fun details to share with you – so let’s get started!
I began with the ECD Watercolor Paper. It is 4″ wide so it’s perfect for an A2 card.
I put the paper in my Misti tool and placed this lovely background stamp where I wanted it. The stamp is much bigger than the paper so it was positioned where I have the images I want. The stamp was inked up with VirsaMark ink and stamped. I added white embossing powder then heat set it.
Since I’m new to watercolor, I had to go out to the garage and find a board that would work. I found an old shelf from a wall unit we no longer have so it was perfect for this use. The shelf is laminated – so it’s great for watercolor. The paper was taped to the board in order to keep it flat. OK, ready to go!
The watercolor set comes with a water brush so mixing up the paint couldn’t be easier. I simply dropped some water on the color. The only extra thing I needed was a piece of paper towel. I covered the entire embossed image with pink and then dropped a little yellow here and there. Then came the hardest part, waiting for it to become completely dry.
Once the background was dry, I began painting the additional colors on the flowers and leaves. When adding the additional colors, you will see how the pink and yellow base coat combines with the new colors. Then once again, wait for it to dry.
While my watercolor panel was drying I gathered up the rest of the card elements. I made the base of the A2 card by cutting a panel from a pretty yellow cardstock that was 5.5″ by 8.5″ and then scored down the center. Using the Rounded Stitched Rectangles – a white panel and then the watercolor panel was cut. “hello sunshine” was stamped and then cut with the Stitched Fishtail Banner die set. Now all we need is easy assembly for a bright and sunny card.
Once everything was dry, some clear ECD Craft Drops were added. Weather you are an artist or crafter, this watercolor set is something you will want to add to your supplies.
Hey Friends! It’s EK and today I am creating a card featuring some spotlight stamping using Charlene’s Make a Wish stamp set. All of Charlene’s stamp set designs were just meant to be colored and the spotlight stamping technique is just perfect for these large images.
Step One: Trim a piece of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock to 4.25×5.5 inches. Using some water resistant black ink stamp the sentiment onto the cardstock. Using the large feather from the Make a Wish stamp set, stamp the feather image around the card.
Step Two: Using the coordinating smaller feather, stamp the image into the blank spaces between the large image.
Step Three: Die cut the stamped image using the Stitched Rounded Rectangle die set twice.
Step Four: Die cut some Rust Soft Finish Cardstock using the Fitted Rounded Rectangle die set using dies slightly larger than the ones used to die cut the stamped images.
Step Five: Using some 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, adhere the die cut images to the Rust cardstock.
Step Six: Using a watercolor maker and a water brush, add some light brown onto half of the feathers from the middle panel.
Step Seven: Repeat step six, but this time using a dark brown watercolor brush.
Step Eight: Adhere all three panels to an A2 card frame.
I love how the coloring in this technique pulls your eyes not to the color, but instead right to the sentiment. Let us know in the comments below what you think of the spotlight stamping technique used with Charlene’s stamp image. Until then, happy crafting!
Hello everyone, it’s Sanna Lippert here again today with a set of “build-a-Hippo” baby cards. I adore this little die cut die so much –– it’s perfect for so many occasions, and practically made for creating baby cards! And while I was at it, I created a set of three. You never know when you’ll need one!
This is how I created the cards:
Step 1: First take a sheet of White Soft Finish Cardstock and die cut 3 sets of Hippos. And don’t forget to die cut the feet six times!! 🙂 Step 2: Next take a sheet of Soft Sky and Dusky cardstock and die cut two sets with the Stitched Rounded Rechtangle from the blue paper and one set from the lilac one. Step 3: Take a white Soft Finish Cardstock sheet (or glitter cardstock) and die cut three sets with the Postage Stamp Rectangles die cut die. Step 4: Ink the hippo pieces with grey and pink stamp ink, but leave the eyes and teeth white.
Step 5: Now cut blue and purple patterned paper into a card size from the polka-dotted “Thinking about Polinesia” paper. Adhere onto the card base. Step 6: Attach a piece of ribbon in blue and pink onto the cards, then adhere the rechtangle pieces on place. Start with the postage stamp piece and adhere the rounded rectangle on top. Step 7: Add a stamped sentiment using the Ahoy Sentiments or the Build Your Own Sentiments 1 stamp set and black stamp ink. Step 8: Color the tiny eye pieces with a black marker and adhere in place.
To give you a better idea of each and every step, I’ve again recorded a video for your to watch. I hope you like it!
I hope I inspired you to play with your dies a little today and create a few cards yourself! I’ll be back with another project next month.
Until then, happy crafting! xxx, Sanna
