Stripes Background and Simple Masking

Hello! Samantha here – Today I’m sharing a card I created that came about simply by stamping a background stamp. I tend not to use pattern paper as much as I used to, but I do love a good versatile background stamp. Elizabeth Craft Designs have a few background stamps that I have used (a few times now) to create my own patterned paper. Once I had stamped my background the idea developed to use a masking technique to create ink blended features using Birthday Sentiments and the co-ordinating Labels 1 Die.

It couldn’t be easier…Gather clear stamp sets by Suzanne Cannon – Months and numbers, your favorite quotes and sentiments, and create a coil-bound book for each month. Make them small enough to pop into a purse (shown: 4” x 6”) or whatever size you prefer!

I am so over grey skies and winter sludge, that I find myself creating projects these days infused with some much needed color. Today’s card might be overly bright, but it is also an excellent way to beat the mid-winter slump.
