Planner Essentials

Cruising

May 31, 2022

Hello everyone, It’s Marjolijn here back on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog. I am so in love with that little boat from the new Planner Essentials Suitcase set. It is so fun to play with! Making it is already a party and if you can also let the boat sail then it will be even more fun!!! So today I decided to make a fun card using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Pull Tabs die set to make this adorable boat sail. Let me show you how I created it.

Where does the boat sail to? The adventure awaits.

The elements from P.E. 48 have been used as reinforcements. Now this card is not going in my planner but I thought it was a nice idea.

The string runs from the anchor to the tab.

I used a black card as the background, which contrasts nicely with the blue.

And that’s how the card was made.

I die cut all the parts of the boat from white 250 grams DCP paper.

I colored all parts with Distress Ink. Antique linen, Pine needles, Faded jeans and Frayed burlap. I used frayed burlap for all the edges as well. After coloring I assembled the boat.

In the pictures above you can see all the other parts that I used for the card. First you apply the pull tab in the mermaid tail page. If you have never made a pull-tab card before, make sure yo watch this Facebook live video by Joset.

Fold the tab in half and stick the “cruising tab” (from book 4) on it. You do this in such a way that it is completely visible when you pull out the tab. Fold the remaining part and stick it so that the tab becomes extra sturdy. Then adhere the mermaid tail page on the middle of the card.

Adhere the boat on in such a way that when the tab is closed you can no longer see the opening underneath. I used the smallest strip. Then adhere the steering wheel, the fish and the anchor over the holes on the edge of the page, the starfish gets a spot at the bottom left. Adhere the stamp between the starfish and the anchor. Make a double card, about 1 cm larger, from black cardstock and adhere your card on it. Now your card is ready 🙂

I hope you enjoyed creating this card as much as I did!

Greetings,

Marjolijn
