Sweater Season card

November 13, 2023

Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. For today’s blog post, I made another Christmas card in anticipation of the upcoming holiday.

Preparation:

Cut and assemble the Sweater Season die set. I used the new Holly Jolly Christmas paper pack and cut the third largest stitched rectangle from green patterned cardstock. Cut the second largest rectangle from the Indented Stitched Rectangles die from red cardstock. Cut, score, and fold an A2 card base.

Instructions

Use the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Holiday Treats stamp set, stamp onto the rectangle patterned cardstock. For mine, I inked the edges with Bundled Sage and Frayed Burlap distress ink.

Layer the rectangle onto the indented rectangle piece and adhere to the card base. For mine, I inked the edges of the red cardstock layer and card base with Frayed Burlap Distress ink.

I then adhered the sweater die cut to the card using foam adhesive to complete the card.

Christmas Tag Card

October 23, 2023

Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. For today’s blog post, I am getting started on my Christmas cards so that I am not making tons of them at the last minute.

Preparation:

Cut and assemble the Sweater Season die set. Using the largest tag from the Nested Tags die set, cut a piece of green patterned cardstock. For mine, I used the new Holly Jolly Christmas paper pack. Cut the second largest rectangle from the Indented Stitched Rectangles die from red cardstock. Fold an 8 1/2″ piece of cardstock in half. Cut a the second largest rectangle from patterned cardstock using the indented Rectangle die set. Cut the words “HOHOHO” from Sidekick Essentials 24 die set out of red cardstock. Also cut the tag reinforcer from the same red cardstock

Instructions

Using the largest tag from the Nested Tags die set. Line the tag up with the edge of the cardstock fold and tape into place. Cut the tag using your die cutting machine. This will serve as your card based.

Adhere the green patterned tag to the tag card base. I inked the edges with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink so that no white edges were being shown.

Adhere the red indented rectangle to the card base and top with the brown patterned cardstock.

Adhere the sweater, HOHOHO, and reinforcer to the tag card and the project is complete.

Feel The Holiday Warmth Mini Slimline Card

December 6, 2022

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. The holidays are nearly upon us and I have a fun card to share with you using the new Sweater Season Die. The beauty of this die is that it can be used all year just eliminate the holiday features. Below are the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 7″ x 6″, score at 3 1/2″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock for 3 1/2″ x 6″. Place Planner Stencil 1 (Circles) onto the panel and add Ink of your choice using a Blender Brush. Optional: Add Transparent Texture Paste and quickly add some Glitter. Let dry then adhere to card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 3 – Diecut Sweater Season using various colors of Cardstock. Assemble using Kids Choice Glue and adhere to card using Foam Tape. For added interest I added Glossy Accents to the tree and sprinkled Glitter. Once dry I added the White trimmings to the tree.

Step 4 – Stamp Holiday Treats using Versafine Onyx Black Ink to White Soft Finish Cardstock. Diecut the sentiment using Diagonal Stitched Fishtails. Adhere to card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

This card can be used for several occasions by removing the holiday elements and changing the sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Feel the Warmth

November 11, 2022

Karen here! I usually make at least 100 Christmas cards and send them out. I’m SO far behind and so glad that I have Joset’s new collection to help and inspire me. Today’s cards use the adorable new Mrs. Claus and the Sweater Season set.

How sweet is this sweater from the Sweater Season set with a bear on it?! The background papers are all from the Christmas Lives Here paper collection. (I added a Fitted Square a bit crooked just to frame the sweater a bit. I created the sweater from a green dotted G45 scrap along with sleeves that are 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock with Copic G46. Of course the waist and collar are also Soft FInish Cardstock. The sentiment tag is from the new Nested Tag set and the sentiment itself is from Holiday Treats.

I absolutely love Mrs. Clause! It’s like putting together a paper doll from when I was younger. She is so super sweet. Her feet and dress are cut from the same G45 dotted paper I used in the sweater. The rest of the pieces are cut with 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock. I used a Copic E00 on the skin, the Copic G46 for the collar and bottom of the apron, and the C1 for the hair. I cut her sweet little glasses with gold cardstock and added some lace and twine. Cutting the pieces on top with 101mm Double Sided Adhesive makes it so much easier to put together!

Thank you for stopping by!

Craftily yours, Karen
