It’s Your Birthday Mini Slimline Card

January 11, 2022

Happy New Year!, it’s Tina here with my first post for 2022. I’m starting off the New Year with 2 promises I made in 2021. Turning the Holiday Train into a train that can be used all year round and turning the Scarecrow into a Raggedy Ann doll. Below are the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish to 7″ x 6″, score at 3 1/2″ and fold in half for a horizontal top fold card. (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Trim Stitched Indented Rectangles using White Soft Finish Cardstock. To turn it into a mini slimline size diecut partial leaving on end out. Turn it around and align it with the diecut and finish it with the end in and the other end out. Whatever is out of the cutting plate will not diecut. See photo below.

Step 3 – Apply Ink to the panel created in Step 2. I used Distress Oxide Ink Tumbled Glass using a Blender Brush. Fade it out towards the bottom.

Step 4 – Stamp Life Is Better On The Farm sentiment using the panel created from Step 2 using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Adhere to card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 5 – Diecut Scarecrow in various colors of cardstock and clothes using patterned paper. If you have the Party Accessories then diecut party hat and adhere to scarecrow head using Kids Choice Glue. If you don’t you can always cut a triangle and add a tiny pompom. For the balloon you can always use a small circle die and use a piece of yarn for the balloon cord.

Step 6 – Diecut Holiday Train and Train Card using various colors of cardstock. Assemble using Kid’s Choice Glue and adhere to card using Foam Tape. Adhere to Raggedy Ann and Balloon using Foam Tape. (You may need to trim the Raggedy Ann as per my card).

This card can be used for several occasions by changing the colors and/or sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Fun and Games

December 15, 2021

Hello friends, it’s Sandy Diller here today with a fun little card using the adorable Gnomes out for a Joy ride. I hope Santa doesn’t see them because he would put them on the naughty list for sure. I have to giggle each time I look at these little guys.

This is a 5″ X 7″ easel card so the base is 7″ X 10″ with a score in the center. Then another score line was added in the center of the card front so it can fold. Color was added to a third panel and then cut out using the Dotted Background die. The snowdrift was cut using the Long Adventure Edges and the added below the blue panel.

The panel with the snowdrift and sky were added to another white panel and then added to the card base – gluing only to the bottom portion of the front panel (below the fold).

The Jeep was cut and assembled. Using dies from the Train Cart set, lights were added. I cut the light strings from black and then added lights from white Soft Finish Cardstock that were colored with markers. The wreath is from the Reindeer die set and then decorated with Craft Dots. A bow was added just for fun. You can use any bow in your collection.

I just love these adorable gnomes so cut out 4 using different colors for their hats. For the driver I cut the steering wheel in half to make it appear that his beard was flying around the wheel. His hat was creased backward to make it look like it’s blowing in the wind.

For the gnome driving the jeep I cut the hands from the die set and then cut the finger off making a rounded hand to hold the wheel. A little pink ink was added to the hands

A greeting was stamped on a panel with another snowbank. A crease was added near the top to hold the front panel open. This panel was added to the inside panel of the card and attached only to the crease line. This card stands for display and is so much fun but it also folds flat for mailing.

Now the only thing left is to add the little details like the gifts falling from the jeep and the strings of lights.

Wishing all of you a most joyous holiday season and a happy new year,

Sandy

Joset Designs Planner Essentials

December Daily

December 6, 2021

Karen here. Each year, I have such fun with the Planner Essentials line creating my December Daily. This year, I wanted to incorporate the incredibly cute designs from Joset’s line of critters and fun. Today’s post shows the start of several of my pages. I will be out for a few days this month with a minor procedure, so I created these pages in advance, and I love how sweet they are! When I get some pictures, I can add them and will likely add some stamps here and there.

I’m doing my whole album this year with a Kraft cardstock base. The page itself is cut from the Planner Essentials 1 die. I added some Stitched and Fitted Squares for the pattern and decided that the Holiday Elf-Hers was the perfect addition. As always, I added reinforcements from either the Reinforcement Variety Pack 1 or 2 (that I backed with 101mm Double Sided Adhesive before diecutting!)

Seriously, could the Sheep be any cuter. This set was released in the Life is Better on the Farm collection, and I just LoVe LoVe it. The page base on this one is from the Planner Essentials 6 set.

On the flip side of the Planner Essentials 1 page is this fun page with the new Train Carts. I did a page on a previous post using the Holiday Train and thought this would be cute right across from it. For this page, I took a piece of green patterned paper and adhered it diagonally before die cutting.

And finally, on the flip side of the Planner Essentials 6 page, I added the Dog. I’m sure I’ll have lots of pictures of my sweet doggie during the holiday times, so he’ll need to have his own page. At the bottom, is a couple Fitted Circles that I added to frame the sweet Dog!

Thank you for stopping by today.

Craftily yours, Karen

Tis the Season

November 19, 2021

Hello friends, it’s Sandy Diller here with you today. I have a fun card using the adorable new Gnomes. I just can’t get enough of them. Today the Gnomes are busy decorating the trees for Christmas Day. Sometimes things just don’t seem to go the way we plan and we get all tangled up.

This is a 5″ X 7″ easel card so I began by cutting my Soft Finish Cardstock 7″ X 10″ with a crease in the center and then another crease at 2.5″ to make it an easel. A decretive strip was added to the bottom edge of the card. I used Christmas lights since I was planning to have my Gnomes all tangled in lights.

The decorative strip will end up on the inside of the card as shown here.

Using the Dotted Background die – it was inked and added to the top front of the card. Next came the snow bank using the Slimline Adventure Edges.

An additional snow bank was created and creased 1/2″ from the top and added to the bottom panel. When the card is opened the snow bank will hold the front panel in position.

Now it’s time to have some Gnome fun! The little guy shown above was assembled as usual but then creased so he would appear to be sitting in the snow. Because he has to fit inside the card when it is closed it was necessary to fold his little hat to fit. Then Christmas lights were added using the lights found in the new Train Carts die set.

This Gnome buddy was assembled using the new Gnomes die set. This set has so many possibilities for making the Gnomes doing different activities. In this one I put the arms out holding the string of lights. This set also includes the bulbs that you see in the final card. So much fun!!

To finish this card off I got out some trees for the Gnomes to decorate. The extra strings of lights were created using the strings for the balloon set.

Thank you so much for stopping by – I will see you soon,

Sandy
