Elegant flower card

Hi everyone, it’s Marla back with another ECD card share. It’s so nice to finally be able celebrate wedding season properly. If you are like me and have several weddings to attend, the recently released “Florals 4” dies are just what you need to create spectacular wedding cards. The card I am sharing today will not only wow a bride and groom but can be used for many other celebrations. Let’s begin…

Step 1. Cut out your flowers and pistols using the “Florals 14” dies and white cardstock. Use a sponge dauber to apply color to your flowers on both the front and back side. I used “Dried Marigold” Distress Oxide and then added “Worn Lipstick”, making sure to leave white space toward the tips of the petals. Add depth with a coordinating-colored pencil to define the embossed line down the center of each petal and add shading toward the center. Then color your pistols, I used Distress Oxide in “Squeezed Lemonade.”

Step 2. Use a stylus to shape each flower layer. I spritzed the backsides of mine with water and gently depressed the end of each petal to help curl them under. Once the layers are shaped glue your flower layer as desired, making sure to offset the petals.

Step 4 Cut out the leaves using “Leaves and Branches” from vellum and white cardstock. Color the backs of a few of your vellum leaves. I used “Bundled Sage Distress Oxide” ink. Using wet glue, add ECD “Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter” to the leaves cut from white cardstock.

Step 5 Stamp and trim down a sentiment. I used a sentiment from the “For You” stamp set.

Step 6. Cut an ivory piece of cardstock to 8.5″ by 3.5″ and emboss with a slimline embossing folder. Use two slimline dies to create a frame and layer it on top of the embossed panel. Attach to an 8.75″ x 3.75″ side folding card base.

Step 7. Arrange and glue your flowers and leaves to your card panel.

A Simple Wedding Card

Hello everyone! Diane here to propose to you a different, but simple, wedding card. I love weddings in the fall, don’t you? Here are the steps to make this card.

Step 1: Background

Cut 12 X 6 inches White Soft Finish cardstock (110 Lb) and fold in half (to make a 6 X 6 inches card).
Cut a 5 3/4 X 5 3/4 inches square out of dark green cardstock.
Cut a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches square out of light green cardstock.
Cut a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches square out of gold cardstock.
Adhere each layers on top of the other using some Transparent Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 2: Flower background

Die cut out of White Soft Finish cardstock the background for the flower using the fifth size from the middle of the Dotted Scallop Circles #1172 die set.
Ink up a working surface or glass mat with yellow Distress Ink, spritz with water and gently pick up the color with the white background. Let dry a couple of minutes or use a air gun to speed up the process.
Ink up the working surface again but this time with green Distress Ink, and repeat the previous step.
Adhere the scallop background onto the card background.

Step 3: The Shasta Daisy

Using the Garden Notes Shasta Daisy # 1521, die cut the petal for one flower out of White Soft Finish cardstock .
Die cut the small centers plate once out of yellow cardstock.
Shape the leaves and the petals using the 4 Pieces All Metal Tool Set.
Adhere the flower on the scallop background using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 4: The sentiment

Out of White Soft Finish cardstock, die cut a label using the Planner Lables – Planner Essentials dies #1658 die set.
Die cut the word “Congrats” in gold cardstock, using the Words 1 – Celebration #1465 die set.
With the Kids Choice Glue, adhere the word on the label.
With foam adhesive squares, adhere the sentiment on the card.

Step 5 : This is love…

Out of both green cardstock , die cut the word “LOVE” in the Planner Essentials 3 #105 die set.
Glue both “Love” on top of the other, off setting them a little bit.
With Kids Choice Glue, glue the flower on the scallop circle, slightly on the left and glue the word “Love” slightly on the right of the flower.

Bold And Bright Save The Date Card

Hi friends! It’s EK, and today I am popping in to share a bold and bright ‘save the date’ invitation design.

So often I see an invitation or save the date cards and they are often created with pale or pastel tones and so serious. I thought it might be really fun to create a bold, bright, and fun ‘save the date’ card. And since I am using the ModaScrap Wedding Sentiments stamp set, creating this card will be so simple.

Step One: Trim a piece of 110lb Soft Finish Cardstock to 4.25×8.5 and score and fold to create a A2 card.

Step Two: Using the smallest circles from the Dashing Circles die set, die cut a series of circles out of bright colored Soft Finish Cardstock. I used Ladybug Red, Bright Orange, Sky Blue, Spring Green, and Perfect Purple Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Three: Create a frame for the card using two dies from the Dashing Rectangles die set. I used some Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock for my frame.

Step Four: Using the Wedding Sentiments stamp set, stamp images and a sentiment onto your die cut circles using some black ink.

Step Five: Adhere the black die cut frame to the card using some 3mm Double Sided Adhesive.

Step Six: Adhere the die cut circles onto the card frame, letting some of the circles dangle off the edge. Trim the bits hanging off the card so the circles become flush with the edge of the card.

Step Seven: Add some decorative drops to the card frame using a liquid drops. Did you see that ECD just add a brand new line of Craft Drops to their store? There are six new colors and I am so excited to play with these new craft drops!

I hope you got a kick seeing how I created this bold and bright save the date card. What I like about this design is I can change the stamp set and create a whole new card. Need a birthday card, this design will work. Need an anniversary card, this design could also work. And of course this fun, bright, bold design will be perfect for an anytime card!

A Way With Words

Wedding Asters

Good morning everyone! Angela Whelton here to show you a simple wedding card using the Garden Notes Aster (1219) and Suzanne Cannon’s “Forever” (1233).

The aster is a lovely little flower that blooms in the prettiest pinks and purples. It always brings me back to my earliest memories of picking big bouquets of wildflowers with my mother. It, along with oxeye daisies and feverfew as well as tansy and yarrow, always make me smile.

The aster has long been considered a talisman of love and a symbol of patience. To my young cousin and her husband to be, getting married this summer, I send my best wishes for a lifetime of both.

Here’s how the card came together:

Prepare card base. Cut a 12×6 inch piece of white Softfinish cardstock and fold in half to create a 6-inch square card. Layer a 5.5-inch piece of patterned paper followed by another 4.75-inch square of Softfinish cardstock.

Cut one Forever piece from white cardstock to be used as a stencil. Using Distress Oxide ink and you favourite tool, lightly stencil the word Forever over the white card base. Set aside

Cut out and colour all pieces for the asters.

Shape using the Garden Notes toolset and mat. To shape, place a flower piece on your molding pad and softly pull the ends of each petal into the center using the loop tool. (Always start from the end of the petal and move inward when using the loop tool.)

Back a 2×4 inch piece of the same patterned paper used in the base as well as a 2×4 inch piece of Softfinish cardstock with pieces of double-sided adhesive. Cut the word Forever from each.

Adhere the patterned piece to the solid piece. Assemble the card according to the photo.

And there it is: a pretty card all set to be given to the Bride and Groom.

Forget Me Not Wedding Card

Good morning all. Angela here as a guest designer. For today’s tutorial I have put together a fairly straightforward wedding card using Susan Tierney-Cockburn’s new Forget Me Not die set in keeping with the traditional “something blue” for the bride, along with several other of my favourite dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
