Tropical Florals

July 5, 2018

Hi Everyone! I hope you are well and enjoying your summer.

Marilyn here with a card I made using the Summer Fun stamp set, Tropical Florals die set and Frame It /Stitched Circles die set. I wanted to make a cheery ‘glad winter is over’ card and these tropical hibiscus flowers are perfect for it.

Below are the steps I used to create the card.

Step 1: Cut a 5.75” x 11.5” rectangle from White Soft Finish Cardstock, score and fold in half at 5.75” to create a 5.75″ square card. Cut a 5 9/16” square from pink cardstock and then die cut a circle using the 4.25” die from the Frame It Stitched Circles in the middle of the circle. From White Soft Finish Cardstock, cut a 5 5/16” square and cut a circle using the 4.75”  circle die.

Step 2: Using the Tropical Florals die set, cut the pieces shown below: 2 leaves, 3 flowers, 3 flower centers, 2 leaves, and 3 stamens.

Step 3: Using the Distress Oxide Inks and a sponge applicator, colour the petal pieces with Worn Lipstick; one leaf with Bundled Sage and one with Peeled Paint (or color both of them the same); the flower centers with Wild Honey and the stamens with Tea Dye. If desired, the inked pieces can be lightly misted with water to give a mottled look.

Step 4: Glue all flower pieces together and to add some shine and glitz, lightly spray with Imagine Shimmer Spritz.

Step 5: Using Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink, stamp the sentiment onto the 5.75” x 5.75” card base. Refer to photo below for placement.

Step 6: Layer and adhere the cardstock mats, then adhere to the card base.

Step 7: Arrange the flowers and leaves as shown or as desired and glue to card front.

Your card is now finished and ready to enjoy! Thank you for stopping by.
