Good morning friends!
It’s me, Rita here today and I’m truly enjoying our spring here in sunny California. Honestly, I absolutely love spring! Nature comes alive again, trees are blooming, flowers are coming out and I get to see my garden of gorgeous violets, daffodils and tulips every year. Since tulips are really my all time favorite flowers, I decided to create a tulip card.
1. Place tulip peel-offs on Neenah cardstock.
2. Color each tulip using your favorite markers or pencils. I used Copic Markers. For my dark pink tulips I used RV63, RV66 and RV 69, for the yellow tulips Y04, Y06, Y08 and E15, and for the leaves YG11, YG61, YG63, YG67 and G99.
3. Fussy cut around each flower.
4. The Peel-Off stickers created an embossed look.
5. Die cut little butterflies and a set of bows from the Yellow and Pink Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz. Please remember to use the metal adaptor plate when die cutting.
6. Cut out two small strips from the same shimmer sheetz and take a quick look at our curious little cat.
7. Cut a 6″ x 12″ card base, score at 6″ and fold in half.
8. Place all the elements on your work station and test out how you like them together. Once you have a good layout, take a photo that will help you assemble the entire card.
9. Assemble your card by adhering some tulips directly to the card base and some using foam squares for a more dimensional effect.
Thank you so much for taking a look at my card today and I hope this spring weather is kind to you too!
Hugs, Rita

I love the colors and flowers! Really pretty card! I bet it really shimmers beautifully in person (wish the camera could capture it!).
Guess my reply never posted the other day. Love the shimmery tulips.
Thank you, Marge!
beautiful!
Thank you, Sandra!
Using the silver outline peel-offs really lets the colors take center stage. What a gorgeous card! Did the sparkle of the Shimmer Sheetz catch the kitty’s attention, or was it the butterflies she was watching?
Thank you so much, Judi! She loves the Shimmer Sheetz! Just loves them!
Love all those beautifully colored tulips Rita!
You’re so sweet! Thank you, Raquel!

I am in agreement with all the other ladies. Such a gorgeous card! My mother-in-law had a cat similar to yours. Her name was Smokey. Oh, I like your placement of the butterflies on your card.as well.
Thank you very much, Karen! Our kitty is Matilda but we call her Mimi.
Lovely! Your Copics technique is gorgeous!
Thank you so much, Barb!

Thank you so much, Karen! You’re always so kind!
I used these peel offs on velum paper and did the same technique. Turned out beautiful also. I love the arrangement on the card. Thanks for the inspiration.
Oh, what a great idea! On velum? I’ll have to try that, thank you, Lynn!
Great card and I pinned it. I showed my Betsy cat the picture of your cat and she said “hi”
Awe, thank you! And hello back to Betsy!
really bright & cheerful – your instructions are so easy to understand. I love the idea of taking a picture once you have figured out how you want it. Question, since I’m newly into this, I don’t have any ‘machines’. Since I can’t die-cut anything (or emboss, etc) is there some other way I can get those beautiful butterflies in another way? I love your blog!
Thank you so much, Debbie! My recommendation would be using the butterfly peel-off stickers: http://www.ecraftdesigns.com/collections/peeloff/products/butterflies-with-doodles There are so many other peel-off stickers too and with the same technique as the tulips, you could create the additional elements. I hope this helps.
A beautiful card, have never though of using a bunch of the flowers, now to get busy any get my peelers out.
Thank you so much, Gretchen! I hope you try them too
I am with the other ladies, what a beautiful cat. My cats always love to be where the action is! I think your card is beautiful also, what awesome colors and textures. I love tulips also but the deer love them more:) I no longer plant them because they never last long enough to open up. Great job on the beautiful card.
Thank you so much, Nancy! Yes, same with our little cat, always there! Hope you can enjoy other flowers your deer don’t like to eat.
Beautiful card! And beautiful cat!
Thank you so much!
Love this card and I have a cat named Maggie that looks like yours. She wants to be involved in everything also.
Thank you, Nancy! Yes, same with Mimi too, everything is interesting to her too.
Beautiful cat, oh and the card!
Thank you very much, Andrea!
