With Sympathy Card

March 6, 2018

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my With Sympathy Card. Although sympathy cards aren’t the first kind of card we all want to create, it’s sometimes one that we do need to take time to make. Using a variety of dies from Joset Designs and Els van de Burgt Studio my sympathy card came together quickly. I hope that you enjoy my tutorial!

1. Die cut the 5 1/4″ and 4 3/4″ Stitched Squares out of patterned paper. Ink the edges using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

2. From the Stitched Circles, die cut the 3 1/4″ and 2 3/4″ stitched circles out of patterned paper. Ink the edges using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

3. Choose a flower from the Large Flower Set. Die cut the flower four times out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Blend Worn Lipstick Distress Ink over the entire surface of all four flowers using a blending tool with foam.

4. Choose one more flower from the Large Flower Set. Die cut the flower two times out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Blend Spun Sugar Distress Ink over the entire surface of both flowers using a blending tool with foam.

5. Die cut three centers from the Large Flower set out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Blend Stormy Sky Distress Ink over one of the centers and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink over the other two centers using a blending tool with foam.

6. From the Trio of Leaves die, choose one of the leaves. Die cut twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Blend Stormy Sky Distress Ink over the entire surface of both die cuts using a blending tool with foam.

7. From the Words 4 – Remember Die Set, die cut the With Sympathy words out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Blend Spun Sugar Distress Ink over the entire surface of both words.

8. Adhere the 4 3/4″ Stitched Square to the 5 1/4″ Stitched Square.

9. Adhere the 2 3/4″ Stitched Circle to the 3 1/4″ Stitched Circle. Foam square the 3 1/4″ Stitched Circle to the middle of the 4 3/4″ Stitched Square.

10. Adhere the corresponding flowers together. To finish off the centers of the flowers, adhere the blue centers to the darker pink flowers and adhere the darker pink center to the light pink flower.

11. Adhere the leaves toward the upper right side of the circles. Arrange and adhere the flowers as shown, making sure that the flowers overlap the stem end of the leaves.

12. Use Kids Choice Glue to adhere With Sympathy toward the bottom right corner of the card front. Cut a card base that measures 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″, score at 5 1/4″ and fold in half. Adhere the card front to the card base.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my With Sympathy Card.

Katelyn
