You Fill My Heart – Layout and a Pair of Cards

February 11, 2018

Hello there everyone, it´s Sanna here today with a scrapbook layout tutorial and a pair of cards. For this month´s tutorial I´ve again recorded a start-to-finish video for you to watch. But first, let me show you the layout. Valentine´s Day being just around the corner, I wanted to create something love theme related, so I made a scrapbook page about my younger son and a set of love themed clean and simple cards with some of the newly-released dies as well as some old favorites.   Create this layout with following steps: 1) Choose a piece of patterned paper from the ModaScrap Fly & Scrap Patterned Paper Collection. Also get out a sheet of watercolor paper and a sheet of White Soft Finish Cardstock. 2) Use the ModaScrap Leafy Branch die sets to cut several branches from the White Soft Finish Cardstock. Also die cut several hearts with the new Buttons die set. Also die cut various Leaves and Dandelion Fluff pieces (see Supply List). 3) Working on a non-stick craft sheet, use spray inks in purple and blue tones (colors coordinate with the colors in the patterned paper) color the die cut branches and other pieces cut in Step 2. 4) Using a spray mist bottle, add water to the inks that remain on the craft sheet from Step 3 and press a piece of watercolor paper into the wet inks to pick up color. Dry with a heat tool. Apply more color and more eater again (one or more times, drying between applications) until happy with the result. 5) Cut, arrange and adhere pieces of the watercolor paper and the ink-altered ModaScrap patterned paper to create a full 12×12 square. 6) Add ink splatters with the same inks that were used to mist the die cut branches. This helps create a cohesive look to the pieced square. 7) Now start building your page together by adhering the die cut branches on top of the patterned paper feathers pattern and also some towards the DIY watercolor paper strip. Add the photos, the word ‘beautiful’ die cut from White Soft Finish Cardstock, along with some word stickers. 8) Embellish further with sequins, liquid pearls and wood veneer hearts. Using black ink, stamp a sentiment from the Love Sentiments clear stamp set. Use the leftover watercolor paper pieces for a set of cards! Here is how to make the cards: For the first card – 1) Die cut a heart from the ink-altered watercolor paper. 2) Die cut two heart cutout pieces from the ModaScrap patterned paper leftovers. 3) Color all the little hearts with dark purple ink and set aside to dry. 4) Adhere the full watercolor paper heart onto a white side-fold card base and embellish with the small hearts. Add a stamped sentiment. Decorate with Liquid Pearls and draw decorative lines that look like a running stitch with a black pen. For the second card – 1)  Adhere the die cut heart with cutout openings to a watercolor paper rectangle. Fill the open areas with small purple hearts. Add the panel to the front of a white side-fold card base. Decorate with Liquid Pearls. 2) Add a stamped sentiment. Use a black pen to doodle decorative lines around the card front and the heart.   Be sure to watch the video that shows each and every step. Hope you enjoy watching and get inspired to create some purple toned projects for Valentine´s Day. Have fun and see you again in March!   Happy crafting, Sanna Supplies: Elizabeth Craft Designs:
