Hi everyone,
It’s Frances here, and it’s my turn to post a tutorial for the Coloring Design Team. Today I decided to play with the Krista Schneider Dreamers stamp & die sets and the Joset Designs Dream Sentiments that work so well with the Dreamers stamp set.
As I couldn’t decided which of the cute animals to use from the stamp set to make my card, I decided to use a simple design and make three cards – one with each of the animals (dog, cat and fox). There are also three smaller images that fit inside the thought bubble included in the stamp set, so I used one for each animal. All three cards are exactly the same, I just changed the colors, the animal, and what they’re dreaming about.
Here’s how I created my cards:
Step 1:
Cut White Soft Finish Cardstock to create a top-fold card base that measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches when folded.
Step 2:
Using the largest rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles die set, die cut designer paper in the color of your choice.
- Adhere the rectangle panel to the front of the folded card.
- Use VersaMark Ink to stamp the sentiment “follow your dreams” onto the banners so the sentiment is close to the fishtail part of the banner. Cover the sentiment with white embossing powder and heat with a heat tool. (Note: For best result use an Anti Static Powder Tool on your cardstock prior to stamping the sentiment to help prevent stray embossing powder sticking to your card).
- Trim off the excess fishtail close to the end of the sentiment.
- Adhere sentiment panel to the bottom of the card. Refer to photo above for placement.
Step 4:
Stamp the images: dog, cat, fox; 3 large thought bubbles with a bone, wool or butterfly inside each of the thought bubbles onto White Soft Finish Cardstock using black ink.
- Use the coordinating dies to cut out each image.
- Color as desired.
- Adhere an image (dog, cat or fox) and a thought bubble to the card using foam tape for dimension. Position them just above the sentiment panel.
Step 5 Inside of Card:
- Use VersaMark Ink to stamp the sentiment “dream big” and the two hearts either side of the sentiment onto the banners so the sentiment is close to the fishtail part of the banner. Cover the sentiment with white embossing powder and heat with a heat gun.
- Trim off the excess fishtail close to the end of the sentiment.
- Adhere sentiment panel to the bottom of the card. Refer to photo above for placement.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.
