Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. When I first saw the Holiday Stocking, I knew that it would make a cute ornament. Not only that, but it would make a great way to give a gift card. I do not always want to pull out my sewing machine so I have opted for a no sew method.
Preparation:
Cut two stockings out of felt from the Holiday Stocking die set. Also cut the stocking cuff from white felt. For this stocking, I used glittered felt. The snowflake is from the Warm Winter Mug die set. I have cut the toe and the heel from green felt.

The felt glue is a bit on the thick side. Because I want to have the thinnest seam possible, I found it easier to apply the glue around the edge with a toothpick. The glue will dry clear

Lay the second stocking on top. I prefer to weight it down with a heavy book to dry. Once dry, attach the cuff, toe, heel, and snowflake.

I added a small hole in the back and tie a ribbon loop to make it into an ornament.

For a decorative option, you can add a blanket stitch to the stocking. I marked 1/4″ into the stocking and 1/4″ apart

Using thread or floss, create a blanket stitch around the edge of the stocking. It gives a fun, handmade feel

Here are a few of the stockings that I created with this technique. It is the perfect size to slip in a gift card or money.
