Mini Slimline Sending You A Bear Hug Card

February 15, 2021

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Even though Valentine’s is over I wanted to keep with the love theme. You don’t need Valentine’s to send a card to your loved one. Below you will find the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 7” x 6”, score at 3 1/2” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Create a stencil by Diecutting the Leaf Pattern Background using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Place it on top of a Cardstock trimmed to 3 1/2” x 6”. Using an ink tool apply ink over the stencil. I used a blending brush with Distress Oxide Ink in Peeled Paint. I went darker in the center and softer around the edges.

Step 3 – Diecut Koala using Kraft Cardstock for the tree trunk, Green Cardstock for the leaves, Grey Cardstock for the Koala, Pink Cardstock for the inner ears, Black Cardstock for the eyes and nose. Add some shading to the tree trunk using Distress Oxide Walnut Stain. Assemble using Kid’s Choice Glue. Adhere to the card using Foam Tape. Using a permanent fine tip marker add the lines for the mouth.

Step 4 – Diecut Elephant using Red and Pink Cardstock for the hearts. Adhere to card using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 5 – Stamp Bear Hug sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

This sweet card can be sent to anyone to let them know you sent them a hug. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

We Just Fit Card

February 1, 2021

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Today’s card is using some oldies but goodies product to create a love themed card as well as a fun technique to create some DIY backgrounds using a Gel Plate. Below you will find the steps to create your own card and backgrounds.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 11” x 4 1/4”, score at 5 1/2” and fold in half for a horizontal top folding card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim 8 1/2” x 11” White Soft Finish Cardstock into 4 pieces by trimming it in half and then again in half. Apply ink of your choice onto the Gel Plate with a brayer. I used Distress Oxide Inks in Worn Lipstick, Candied Apple, Dusty Concord. Place the Cardstock onto the Gel Plate, rub into it to get the ink to transfer on the Cardstock. Remove and let dry. Diecut Heart Background using White Cardstock. You will use this as a stencil. Apply the same inks onto the Gel Plate, place the stencil you created and add Cardstock. Remove the stencil. Place another Cardstock on the Gel Plate and rub into it. Remove and let dry. Trim the panel from the right and adhere onto the card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 3 – Diecut Flamingos using White Soft Finish Cardstock for the body and wings, cream Cardstock for the beak and legs, and Black Cardstock for the tip of the beak. Apply Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick to the body and wings. Apply Distress Oxide Candied Apple to the edges. Assemble using Kid’s Choice Glue. Adhere to card using Foam Tape making sure to keep them close as this will create a heart from the heads of the Flamingos.

Step 4 – Stamp Love Sentiment using Versamark on Black Cardstock. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder and remove the excess. Heat set it with a Heat Tool. Trim the sentiment and adhere to card using Foam Tape.

Step 5 – Optional – For added interest and sparkle randomly adhere Sequins.

This card can be used for several occasions such as an Anniversary or simply telling your spouse you love them. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
