Happy Gardening Card

June 25, 2021

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Happy Gardening Card.

To create my Happy Gardening Card, I’ve used a variety of the dies from the Planner Essentials Collection and Joset Designs as well as dies and stamps from the Sidekick Essentials Collection. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my card at home.

Step One. Choose two pieces of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence the Book. From the first patterned paper, die cut a 3 1/2″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle. From the second piece of patterned paper, die cut a 3″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle. Distress the edges of both rectangles. Ink the edges of both rectangles using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Die cut a 3 1/4″ Fitted Rounded Rectangle out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. Choose a piece of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence the Book. Die cut the plain label from the Sidekick Essentials 16 – Seed Packet Set. Ink the edges of both pieces using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. Choose a piece of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence the Book. Die cut the tattered note page from the Sidekick Essentials 16 – Seed Packet Set. Trim the note page down to 1 1/8″. Ink the edges of the piece using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. From the Planner Essentials 22 – Planner Pocket 3 – Top Loading die, die cut the arrow strip out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Ink the edges of the arrow using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Six. You’ll need to choose a green piece of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence the Book. From the Sidekick Essentials – 7 die, you’ll need the large plant and two of the single leaves. Die cut the large plant once out of the patterned paper. Die cut the two single leaves twice out of the same green patterned paper.

Step Seven. You’ll need the Happy Gardening Label from the Sidekick Essentials – Home & Nature Stamp Set. Apply Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the label and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fussy cut around the label. Ink the edges of the label using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Eight. Adhere the 3 1/4″ rectangle to the 3 1/2″ rectangle. Foam square the 3″ rectangle to the 3 1/4″ rectangle.

Step Nine. Adhere the torn edge note piece 1/4″ from the right as the 3″ rectangle.

Step Ten. Staple the label pieces together as desired. Staple the arrow strip 1/4″ from the right of the label. Adhere the label 1/2″ from the right and 5/8″ from the bottom of the 3″ rectangle.

Step Eleven. Adhere the large plant as desired on the right hand side of the 3″ rectangle. Adhere the single leaves as desired around the large plant.

Step Twelve. Foam square the Happy Gardening label 1/8″ from the left and 1/4″ from the bottom of the 3″ rectangle.

Step Thirteen. To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 4 3/4″ x 7″, score at 3 1/2″.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Happy Gardening Card at home.

Places I’ve Been – Delaware

January 8, 2021

Karen here today. I’m still working through my virtual travels in my “Places I’ve Been” journal. Today’s trip is to Delaware. I went with a girlfriend in December 2019. For today’s post, I decided to finally try out the Planner Essentials 22, Planner Pocket 3. It’s a fun die set!

LoVe this. For thee pages, I used mostly paper from Reminiscence, The Book. Some of the embellishments were created from the Mystical Winter Collection and/or from my stash.

To create this page, I cut out the “inner tag” at 4″x7-1/2″ and cut the tag topper and pocket from Planner Essentials 22. I used a transparency for the window. The page base is cut with Planner Essentials 4. A great video on putting together the page can be found here. The letter dies can be found in Planner Essentials 23. I used both the smallest and the medium versions of the letters. To make application easier, I used 101mm Double Sided Adhesive on the paper before cutting it.

The tag is embellished with stamps from Destination Phrases, Water Creatures and Background 1. I used some Stormy Sky and Vintage Photo Distress Oxides (along with black ink). I also added a couple fishes from the Diving Accessories dies and some Artsy Scenery Washi Tape.

The shells and flowers that I used for embellishing the front and back of my Delaware pages are from the Seashells, Flower Power, and Blooming Branches dies. I used small scraps of paper from Mystical Winter, Reminiscence and other scraps in my stash.

The back page also has a few dies from the Planner Labels set. I used White Craft Drops and dies from the Reinforcement Variety Pack 1 and 2.

So much fun creating these pages! Thank you for stopping by.

Craftily yours, Karen

No.7 Planner Pocket

September 10, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my No.7 Planner Pocket.

To create my No.7 Planner Pocket, I’ve used a variety of dies from the Planner Essentials Collection and the Art Journal Specials Collection. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my planner pocket at home.

Step One. Choose a piece of patterned paper and die cut the Pocket die from the Planner Essentials 22 – Planner Pocket 3 – Top Loading twice. On the pocket that will be the front, place the rectangle die from the same die set and place it in the middle of the front pocket. Ink the edges of both pieces using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Cut a piece of vellum that measures 3 1/2″ x 6″.

Step Three. Cut a piece of black cardstock that measures 3 7/8″ x 8″.

Step Four. From a piece of coordinating patterned paper, die cut the tattered tag topper from the Planner Essentials 22 – Planner Pocket 3 – Top Loading Die. Ink the edges of the topper using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. From the same die, die cut the reinforcement strips out of black cardstock.

Step Six. Die cut the arrow strip out of black cardstock from the same die used in the previous step.

Step Seven. Choose another piece of coordinating patterned paper. Die cut the small note piece from the Planner Essentials 21 – Note Pieces out of the patterned paper. From the same die, die cut the stitched rectangle out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Ink the edges of both pieces using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Eight. Choose a third piece of coordinating patterned paper and die cut the stitched banner from the Planner Essentials 26 – Planner Pocket 3 – Tag & Topper die. Ink the edges of the banner using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Nine. Choose two of the flower stems from the Flower Power die and die cut them out of kraft cardstock.

Step Ten. Next you’ll need the Pieces of Life 2 – Numbers & Labels stamp set. From the stamp set, you need the No. and 7. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the two stamps and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fussy cut the 7 out. Cut the No. word into a strip. Ink the edges of the No. and 7 using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Eleven. Adhere the vellum to the back side of the die cut hole in the front pocket.

Step Twelve. Adhere the stitched rectangle to the middle of the note piece. Staple the arrow piece to the middle of the stitched rectangle piece. Foam square the stitched banner 1/2″ from the bottom and all the way to the right hand side of the note piece. Adhere the No. and 7 as desired on the banner. Staple the note piece to the bottom right hand side of the note pocket as desired.

Step Thirteen. Staple the two flower stems as desired in the middle of the vellum piece in the pocket.

Step Fourteen. Adhere the front pocket to back pocket on the tabs and sides. Make sure that the top of the pocket isn’t adhere together.

Step Fifteen. Adhere the reinforcement strips over top of the holes on the now formed pocket.

Step Sixteen. Adhere the torn tab topper to the top of the black cardstock piece.

Step Seventeen. Slide the black cardstock piece with topper at the top of the pocket.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my No.7 Planner Pocket at home.
