Simple Christmas Layout For The New Year!

January 12, 2020

Good morning! Laura here today to share a simple and quick layout to help you scrapbook your Christmas photos!
I also have a couple of tips for you toady. Here’s the first one:
*tip 1 – all those gorgeous Christmas papers may be a little busy for your style – turn them over and use the other side to coordinate with your favorite ‘busy’ side so the papers don’t clash

To create this layout:

Step 1 – gather 3 sheets of patterned paper – and tear across one sheet at about 8 1/5 inches or 22cm, second sheet tear the bottom off at about 3 inches or 8 cm, then adhere to the your third full sheet
Step 2 – create a photo mat with a torn side about 2 inches bigger than your photo
Step 3 – die cut 3 fitted fishtails, celebration flags and your 2 large and 4 small of my favorite poinsettia die and assemble

*tip 2 – You can use your favorite shape die – I used my stitched circle die – to cut out elements from your Christmas paper to use as embellishments

Step 4 – assemble and add your title!

Hello Sunshine –– Summer Dreaming!

December 15, 2019

Good morning! Laura here today! It is very cold here right now and I am missing the heat of summer! Since it is winter and I can’t actually enjoy the summer right now I did the next best thing and created a summer layout!

To create this layout:

Step 1) Cut your papers, 1 at 12×12, 1 at 10×12 and 1 at 11×12 then ink the edges and assemble
Step 2) Die cut 4 circles of varying sizes. I used 5 1/4, 4 1/4, 2 3/4 and 2 1/4 in the stitched circles

Step 3) Die cut one sand castle and one palm tree then ink and assemble

Step 4) Die cut two tags and ink the edges – I used the tag from the planner essentials 7
Step 5 ) Die cut the filmstrip from planner essentials filmstrip

Step 6) Add your title and assemble

December Day-By-Day Page Ideas!

November 28, 2019

It’s Esther here. December 1st is just a few days away, which means it’s almost time to start your daily #DecemberDBD journaling! (You can learn more about the December Day-By-Day Challenge here.)

Today, I’m here to share some ideas and tips for your #DecemberDBD journal. I recommend trying to add pictures to your pages each day –– from “normal” things like doing the dishes or groceries, and a full/empty fridge. It really doesn’t matter what you take pictures of –– everything you do on a single day is fine. It’s more about documenting each day, whether it’s work, sports, watching tv, cooking diner, babysitting, laundry, etc.

If you find yourself lacking inspiration on a certain day, here’s a list of some themes/ideas that might help:

  • Photo of your craft desk/room
  • Buy yourself a treat/something you really like to eat and try to make a stunning picture of it to use in your journal
  • Your favorite (Christmas) song
  • Decorating your tree
  • A black & white picture
  • Write a letter to Santa and hide it in your journal
  • Take pictures of December decorations in your area, or go to a garden centre or decorated shop to take pictures.
  • Wrapping presents
  • Create a tag
  • Your favorite (feel-good) movie
  • A selfie
  • Your pets or birds and other animals in the garden
  • Donate $5 to charity
  • Your favorite Facebook group ?
  • Christmas cards you are sending and/or receiving
  • Your front door or house
  • A recipe
  • Hot chocolate or a good cup of tea/coffee
  • Your dream house
  • Shopping list
  • Children/Grandchildren
  • Family tradition(s)
  • PJ’s all day –– staycation
  • Cleaning a closet or a room
  • The sky/the weather today
  • The kitchen
  • Work moment
  • What makes you happy?
  • Make a page with paint or watercolor
  • News: What’s happening right now –– local or worldwide
  • New Years wishes

If you are planning to journal through the full month of December (1–31st) to review the past year, you can also add things like: the best thing that happened last year, the saddest thing that happened last year, milestones, etc.

For our Dutch members there is also Sinterklaas on December 5th –– a great subject for your December-Day-By-Day journal/ planner!

I hope this helps give you a little bit of inspiration as we get ready to document our December! Don’t forget to join us on the ECD Planner Page on Facebook to see other crafters’ planner pages, and to share pictures of your own!

Happy Planning!

November 3, 2019

Good morning everyone! Laura here today to share an Easter layout I created using lots of the wonderful dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs!

To create this layout:

Step 1 – Select your papers and trim them to the following sizes: 12×12, 9 1/2×12, 8 3/4×12, 7×12 and adhere them as shown.

Step 2 – Die cut a filmstrip from the Planner Filmstrip die set and trim a piece of paper to fit inside.

Step 3 – Die cut the 3 brackets from the same die set and use your double sided tape to adhere them together

Step 4 – Die cut 7 of the smallest stitched hexagons

Step 5 – Die cut a bunny and a few flowers and assemble

Step 6 – Die cut 5 of the banner flags from the Planner Essentials 3 and adhere as shown.

And that’s it! Take a look at the finished layout below.
