Love This Planner Insert

January 21, 2021

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Love This Planner Insert for inside of my Sidekick Essentials Planner.

To create my Love This Planner Insert, I’ve used a variety of the dies from the Sidekick Essentials Collection and stamps from the Planner Essentials Collection. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my planner insert at home.

Step One. Die cut the Polaroid Frame from the Sidekick Essentials 1 Die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″. Adhere the 2 3/4″ cut piece of White Finish Cardstock to the back of the polaroid frame.

Step Two. Sprinkle Rosebud, Coral and Turquoise Magenta Nuance on the polaroid frame. Spritz with water and allow to dry.

Step Three. Once the polaroid frame has dried, you’ll need the definition stamp from the Planner Essentials – Background Stamps 3. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the stamp and stamp randomly on the frame. You’ll need to stamp a total of five times. Reapply Ink to the stamp as needed. Ink the edges of the frame using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. Choose one of the reinforcements from the Reinforcement Variety Pack. Die cut the reinforcements out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. You’ll need 8 reinforcements total. Ink the edges of all the reinforcements using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. From the Sidekick Essentials 4 die, you’ll need to die cut the 1 5/8″ circle out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Turquoise Magenta Nuance on the circle. Once the circle has dried, ink the edges of the circle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Six. Die cut the large hearts from the Sidekick Essentials 6 Die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Coral Magenta Nuance on each heart and then spritz with water. Once the hearts have dried, ink the edges of the hearts using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Seven. On a piece of scrap White Soft Finish Cardstock, sprinkle Rosebud Magenta Nuance and then spritz with water. Once the paper has dried, die cut the two hearts from the Sidekick Essentials 2 Die out of the paper. Ink the edges of the two hearts using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Eight. From the Sidekick Essentials 7 Die, die cut the large leaf bunch out of a piece of vellum.

Step Nine. From the Sidekick Essentials 5 Die, die cut the & symbol out of a piece of kraft cardstock.

Step Nine. Die cut the arrow from the Sidekick Essentials 3 Die out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Ten. From the Sidekick Essentials 1 Die, die cut the This die out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the This word to 3/4″ x 1 3/4″. Cut a piece of kraft cardstock that measures 3/4″ x 1 3/4″. You will also need the heart from the This strip. Ink the edges of the heart, the white strip and the kraft strip using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Eleven. Place your polaroid frame in your Sidekick Planner and make a mark where your reinforcements should sit on the frame. Once the marks are on the frame, adhere the four reinforcements. Flip the frame over and adhere the remaining four reinforcements to the back side of the already adhered reinforcements.

Step Twelve. Staple the large leaf branch to the middle of the frame as desired. Use foam squares to adhere the circle 1/4″ from the bottom and have it hang slightly over the right hand side of the frame.

Step Thirteen. Adhere the large hearts as desired on the frame.

Step Fourteen. Adhere the & symbol and the arrow as desired on the circle. Adhere the small hearts as desired on the frame.

Step Fifteen. Staple the This word strip to the kraft strip. Use foam squares and adhesive to adhere the This word strip 1/4″ from the bottom and all the way to the left hand side of the frame. Adhere the white heart as desired on the frame.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Love This Planner Insert at home.

But First Coffee Card

October 11, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my But First Coffee Card.

To create my But First Coffee Card, I’ve used a variety of dies from the Planner Essentials Collection, the Sidekick Essentials Collection and Joset Designs. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my card at home.

Step One. You’ll need a couple of pieces of coffee themed patterned paper. I’ve used the Echo Park Paper Collection – Coffee. From one of the patterned papers, you’ll need to die cut a 3 3/4″ Fitted Rounded Rectangle. From the other piece of patterned paper, die cut a 3 1/2″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle. Ink the edges of both rectangles using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. From one of the patterned papers you just die cut the rectangles out of it, die cut the 1 5/8″ Note Piece from the Planner Essentials 21 – Note Pieces die out of it. Ink the edges of the note piece using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. From the same patterned paper you just used, die cut the clip from the Planner Essentials – Planner Filmstrip die out of it. Ink the edges of the clip using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. From the Planner Essentials – Planner Patterns die, cut the letters from a piece of black cardstock and a piece of kraft cardstock. Apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the kraft cardstock and sprinkle Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder over the entire surface. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Five. Choose two more patterned papers from the coffee collection. From the Sidekick Essentials 4 die, you’ll need the 2 1/8″ and 1 3/4″ circles. Die cut the 2 1/8″ circle out of one of the patterned papers. Die cut the 1 3/4″ circle out of the other patterned paper. Ink the edges of both circles using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Six. From the Sidekick Essentials 4 Die, die cut the 1 3/4″ circle out of black cardstock. Die cut the But First Coffee circle out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Ink the edges of the But First Coffee circle out of Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Seven. Die cut the two coffee cups out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the two sized bands once out of kraft cardstock and a second time out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. From the White Soft Finish Cardstock, you’ll only need the top and bottom pieces, not the band. From the kraft cardstock ones, you’ll only need the bands. Apply Emboss It Ink to the kraft cardstock bands and sprinkle Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder over the entire surface. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Eight. Adhere the 3 1/2″ stitched rounded rectangle to the 3 3/4″ fitted rounded rectangle.

Step Nine. Foam square the note piece 3/8″ from the left and 3/8″ from the bottom of the 3 1/2″ rectangle. Adhere the two letter pieces together, off set, making sure that the embossed letters are on top. Adhere the clip to the top of the letters as desired. Apply adhesive to the left hand side of the letters and adhere 5/8″ from the left and 3/8″ from the bottom of the 3 1/2″ rectangle.

Step Ten. Adhere the 1 3/4″ patterned paper circle to the 2 1/8″ patterned paper circle. Foam square the 2 1/8″ circle to the middle of the letters as desired.

Step Eleven. Adhere the coffee cup pieces to the corresponding cups. Use foam squares and adhesive to adhere the cups to the middle of the 1 3/4″ circle as desired.

Step Twelve. Adhere the But First Coffee circle to the black cardstock circle. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the But First Coffee circle to the right of the 2 1/8″ circle as desired.

Step Thirteen. To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 3 3/4″ x 10″, score at 5″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my But First Coffee Card at home.
