You’re the coolest!

June 19, 2023

Hello Everyone, Jackie here again with todays post. I have made a summery card using some parts from the Food Truck die set along with the super cute squirrel however this design would work with any of the character’s.

Step One:

Create a pink top folding card blank measuring 5.5 x 4.25″ then trim a white panel measuring 5.25 x 4″ and round the four corners using a corner punch. Die cut the food truck window trim part then use this to draw a pencil line ready to cut out.

Step Two:

Trim out the window shape then glue the frame in place.

Step Three:

Die cut the tiled panel from the kitchen set then paint every other tile using the watercolour pallet. Fix the tiled panel to the pink card blank then attach the window panel to the card front using 3d foam pads.

Step Four:

Create the sun shade by die cutting the shade into both white and pink card, fussy cut every other pink section and glue on to the white part. Fix the shade on top of the window along with a die cut sign bar from the Food Truck die set.

Step Five:

Stamp out and trim the Stay Cool sign then gently ink around the edges using pink ink.

Step Six:

Add a selection of die cut ice creams and ice lollies, attach these using 3d foam pads.

Step Seven:

Die cut and build the Squirrel as normal, glue an ice lolly in his hand then fix him to the card front to finish.

I have chosen to leave this card with some white space but there would be plenty of room for another sentiment to suit your occasion.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you have enjoyed todays post. Until next time happy crafting – Jackie xx

Squirrelly about Camping!

March 30, 2022

Hi all, Happy Thursday!! Well how exciting is this my second blog post in one week!!! I am super happy to share with you my squirrelly camping pages. This squirrel die set is my new addiction I can not get enough of these squirrels. They are super fun and easy to make, so lets get started.

Step 1: Cut your main pages with your designer paper using Planner Essentials #4, next I cut out two strips of designer paper measuring 3″ x 8 1/4″ and inked the edges with brown ink. Then I adhered the paper strips to the left hand side on the left planner page and right side on the right planner page. Then cut two mats from coordinating designer paper with the round mat die from Planner Essentials 22 and adhere them to the center of your pages as per the picture above.

Step 2: Out of dark and light brown card stock cut out your two squirrels from Joset’s collection #1930 and ink the edges with brown ink. I added a little pink to the cheeks and highlighted with a white gel pen. After your cheek’s are dry I assembled my squirrels as per the picture above. With the Tent Die #1669 cut out your latten from red and yellow cardstock, ink with brown ink and assemble.

Step 3: Out of designer paper cut one tent – cut your poles from dark brown cardstock ink and assemble. Using Forest Accessories Die #1688 cut out your mushrooms with red, white and a light tan colored cardstock. Next I cut out the logs, stump and stick from woodgrain paper to create a cool texture. The bushes are cut from light and dark green cardstock, cut one marshmallow from white cardstock and ink with a bit of grey around the edges. My final step is to ink all the edges and assemble as per the picture above.

Step 4: Assemble and adhere your left planner page as per the picture above, the squirrel is pop dotted using some foam dots or tape.

Step 5: Assemble and adhere your right planner page as per the picture above, the squirrel is pop dotted using some foam dots or tape.

Step 6: Once you have assembled both your pages, I cut the word PHOTOS from Planner Essentials 31 and the clip from Sidekicks Essentials 5 all cut from dark brown cardstock.

Step 7: Attach your choice of reinforcement rings.

Last step is to add your favorite pictures and attach your clip and PHOTOS word.

**Optional** I always love to add a little white paint by speckling.

I hope your enjoyed todays blog post! Have a wonderful crafty day. >Katie<

All About the Circles

March 25, 2022

Karen here today with a post that is all about the circles! I created a card using the Fitted and Stitched Circles and then was inspired to also create a Sidekick scrapbook page using them as well.

First up is a card using the Squirrel cut using 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock. I cut the pieces “on top” using the 101mm Double Sided Adhesive. Isn’t he just adorable! I used a combination of Distress Inks to color him including Kitsch Flamingo, Weathered Wood, Antique Linen and Tea Dye. I added random Stitched and Fitted Circles to create a lively card layout for him and added some twine and lace. The stamp is from the Life is Better on the Farm set. The acorn is colored with Copic markers.

I then was inspired to use circles in a Sidekick page journaling some fun I had at a basketball game. The team was losing, so I started taking pictures of the fun and colorful shoes. The page base and pink overlay is Sidekick Essentials 20. The “fab” die is in Planner Essentials 43, and the lettering is from Planner Essentials 37. As always, I added some reinforcements from the Reinforcement Variety Packs 1 and 2.

On the back of the page is more shoes and more circles! My guy met the guy with the shoes that were yellow and colorful, but unfortunately, I only noticed the shoes, so I can’t tell you who it was!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by today!

Craftily yours, Karen

Just To Say…

March 24, 2022

Hello all. Jackie here with today’s card made using the super cute squirrel and spring basket. The cute critter is holding a hidden message and although this card has been made for Mother’s Day you could easily adapt the sentiments for so many other occasions.

Step One:

Die cut and build the basket adding a little ink around the edges, Here I have used colour wild honey. Use a pink pencil on the stitched lines of the little cloth piece and add Blue tumbled glass ink around the edges.

Step Two:

Cut a handful of flowers using white card then ink them in three different colours, gently shape the flower before adding the circle centres die cut from brown card.

Step Three:

Cut a panel measuring 4 x 5.25″ and use the semi circle notch die to cut the notch into the top, then use the smallest slit die to cut a slit as shown in the photo.

Step Four:

Die cut the pull tab (the smaller one of the two) along with the corresponding slot part, glue the slot part to the reverse side of the prepared panel at about one third down from top. Ink the small arrow disc with yellow then fix to the top of the pull tab.

Step Five:

Die cut he basket again in to a scape piece of white card, use a few of the waste pieces from the basket as a prop for the squirrel to attach to, glue about 4 waste pieces together then fix inside the slit to the tab, be careful not to get glue on the other parts.

Step Six:

Ink around the panel edges with yellow ink. Die cut and build the squirrel adding brown ink around the edges and pink rosy cheeks, then attach the squirrel to the prop making sure not to get glue on any other parts. Fold the two edges of the tab pull behind and fix in place with a blob of glue.

Step Seven:

Add some strips of foam pad to the reverse side of the card panel ensuring they not interfere with the pull tab. Fix the panel to the front of a kraft card measuring 4.25 x 5.5.

Step Eight:

Draw a few black lines where the basket will sit then fix the basket in place over the squirrel using foam pads, you will only be able to fix a few on either side as the squirrel needs to be able to move out of the basket.

Step Eight

Trim a small piece of white card approximately 1 x 1.25″ write ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ then ink around the edges with blue ink and fix to the squirrel hands. Finish off by adding all the flowers.

Thank you for stopping by today I hope I have inspired you to have a go at the pull tabs.

Happy crafting – Jackie
