Hello crafters,
It’s Sara here today, and I have a Poppy Bookmark to share with you.
Step 1 – For the base of the bookmark, die cut the largest tag from the Love, Life Tag die set from Kraft brown cardstock.
Step 2 – Create a Bubble Effect background to add extra interest. Mix dish washing liquid, white acrylic paint, and a little bit of water in a bowl. Blow bubbles through a straw, and lay the bookmark onto the surface of the bubbles to burst them and transfer color onto the cardstock.
Step 3 – Using the Garden Notes – Poppy 2 die set, die cut enough pieces from White Soft Finish Cardstock to create one flower. To assemble the poppy, follow Susan’s instructions in her video tutorial here.
Step 4 – Adhere the Poppy to the bookmark and tie some twine through the hole at the top for a country look!
I hope you like it!
Thanks for stopping by.

who knew I could have been calling my screw ups “effects” LOL I seem to always smear glue or something somewhere on my projects I never knew there were similar looks that were actually something done right Thanks Sara, very pretty
Sara would like to thank you for your comment. The background was inspired after seeing something created by Chiara Modenini from ModaScrap at a show she attended. This effect was created using a bubbling technique using a mixture of acrilic paint, dish soap and water..
very nice but is it to thick for a bookmark.? Maybe a tag on a special package.
Sara says that before creating this post, she tested the bookmark by inserting it into a book and, since it is paper, it become a little less thick but, if you arrange it once you take it out of the book, it gets back in shape!
